Giving different stability, range, and whatever on the same gun is a bad idea,I get it on other weapons, you know what to expect and that's why you choose to use it.when I swap to solar to shoot a witch,it will alter 2 major aspects of how I've come accustomed to using the gun,I don't like it. Is void going to give it more than 100 stability? Why fix what isn't broken?

After last weeks meeting with Luke, they decided their new motto is: "If it ain't broke, break it"

Edited by The Legend Himself: GONZO: 12/4/2022 8:25:56 AMThis was a thoughtless change reminiscent of early D2 exotic catalysts. Minor stat bumps is NOT what these weapons need. What they actually need is synergy with elemental verbs. Imagine the following on Hardlight: Solar - defeating a target applies scorch to nearby combatants, Arc - precision final blows blinds nearby combatants, Void - continuous damage on a combatant suppresses that target. I don’t think this would make the gun “broken” but it would definitely make it a viable option in end-game PvE activities. Imagine the following on Dead Messenger: Solar - Applies scorch, Arc - Jolts targets, Void - Weakens targets for a short duration. This would make it a great weapon! If this seems like a lot, then—at a minimum—increase the height of the wave to deal with aerial combatants such as Hive Wizards. Too much for PvP? Then reduce its damage against Guardians.

Just imagine if.... Solar Gave it Incandescent Arc gave it Voltshot Void gave it Repulsor Brace But no, we get the most boring "Buff" possible thanks to the fun police -
6 RepliesAre you really upset about this??? The change literally does nothing but make the gun have better stats. Solar is getting more reload speed and airborne effectiveness, arc is getting handling and range, void gets stability and aim assist. The stability part on void may not serve any purpose but this change adds no negatives so what is the purpose of crying about it???

2 RepliesThey buffed a series of guns the same way. Some of the guns benefit more than others. Would you quit complaining

I really doubt any of the elemental stat buffs will be noticeable on Hardlight unless you are using void on one without a catalyst installed. It already has 64 reload, which on a 600 auto puts it in the 1.6 second reload range, pushing it too 100 on solar is going to make it more like 1.4 seconds. Are you really going to be thrown off so much by that small of a change in reload speed? The arc one is even less noticeable, your talking about cutting off a small number of frames from the weapon stowing animation. This seems like a real stretch to find something slightly different other people to complain about. Honestly, this change is nothing but a buff... to Borealis, a gun that needs a buff, while also providing a very very small buff to a couple other weapons.

Hard Light has been a firm staple in my loadouts since forever, and I didn't really see anything negative about the stat boosts on different elements. I did immediately wonder how it would feel switching so often in say, a Match Game enabled activity, but it can't be much. It's not like it will change the sensitivity on your aim setting or anything. Let the changes make it into the wild, use the gun, and then post feedback on it. (Yes, I did just say "trust Bungie, and yes, I know how ridiculous that sounds...)

4 Replieswow one of the actual meaningful buffs of an exotic that sucks anyway? damn man I hate reloading faster, having a more stable gun or a faster handling one

1 ReplyEdited by mikeyrox1234: 12/3/2022 11:59:56 PMOnly reason I’m not a fan of thing is because I don’t want to feel the drastic stat differences just because I’m using a different element. Overall I’m have absolutely no intentions of using Hard Ligjt.

Well, I think it might give it more character. It’s exotic, after all!
