I'm not bothered that its a gay couple but that whole scene was just uncomfortable to me.
The words sounded awkward. Kissing a robot that can't kiss back? It's like planting one on a blow up doll but atleast the doll is soft. It looked odd.
I think bungie have desperately tried to make a gay story line for whatever reason and they've done it so , SO bad.
Again, I don't care the gender, race or whatever the characters are....but I can understand why some people are annoyed with it being pushed. Especially when the lore has stated differently for these characters in the past.
I'm just testing if a non offensive critism of this gets taken down like the rest.
5 RepliesYeah it’s clear bungie wanted to introduce a gay couple into their game but didn’t want to go through the effort of making it feel like a good natural relationship. It’s almost as if they just wanted to make certain groups happy, instead of just telling a good story.
-
4 RepliesIt's the only relationship we've seen in 8 years, it feels completely forced into the story.
-
eh dont care about it

16 RepliesEdited by Eatz: 11/29/2022 10:17:52 PMIf their romance had been a thing from the start, there wouldn’t be half as many people making an unnecessary issue out of it. But they changed the lore. Remember when Osiris called Saint his brother? Then they all of a sudden have a romance that came out of nowhere that sounds like it was written by a 15 year old. Why cant same same -blam!- relationships in media just be well-written and not feel so forced? I mean come on, the writing is just BAD.
-
1 ReplyBruh funny I came across your post cause I was just thinking the same thing. Like it doesn't bother me to have gay characters in the slightest but they way it was done seemed so fake and forced. Poor lazy writing. What a shame cause they're like 2 of the most influential characters in the whole game and they got like 2008 side quest complexity
-
Well yeah. It was a forced retro continuity change made by one of the game's writer's to felatiate his ego. Of course it's -blam!- tier writing that feels forced.

Edited by Tru-Zrue: 11/30/2022 7:20:47 PMThis is all I’ve been saying. Just feels out of place if you’ve been playing since early d1, reading all of the lore. It’s like an agenda is being pushed for….idk what reason. It’s not bothersome, but let’s call a spade a spade bungie.
-
1 ReplyThey retcon 2 chars to score some woke points, instead of writing a compelling story. They wanna be applauded for their virtue not for making a good game.
-
14 RepliesQuestion. In all of Destiny 1/2 history have we had a cut scene at any time with 2 straight characters kissing ever? If not I think that's the real issue lots are having.
-
1 ReplyMy issue is that they chose two established characters with a well established brotherly relationship and made them gay for not reason. Destiny already has gay characters that didn’t retcon the existing lore, so why did they do it?
-
I got a post ninja'd for asking ; "Has there ever been a straight type of this cutscene?"
-
Does it really count as gay? I mean Saint is an Exo. Doesn't that make it robosexual?
-
2 RepliesThe dialogue was a bit campy but that’s it. The scene was fine. A couple kiss each other after finally being able to be reunited after one of them was put through literal hell and was effectively tortured? It’s not a desperate storyline just because you don’t like gay people dawg. Destiny’s universe is full of absurd -blam!-, but you draw the line at a human and an exo kissing? You realize that exos are for all intents and purposes just as human as anyone else? Kissing is a pretty common form of affection, in case you didn’t know. It’s very clear why people are annoyed. This community is insanely narrow minded and mentally stunted. You hating what they are doesn’t mean their relationship came from a retcon lmao.

5 RepliesEdited by Infamous067: 11/30/2022 2:56:43 PMLol don’t lie, you definitely have an issue with gay characters. You wouldn’t talk about it otherwise. I know you are trying not to offend anyone by speaking your mind but at least don’t lie about it. Be up front if you are gonna talk about this topic, at the end of the day it doesn’t matter. People will say and feel whatever they want. it doesn’t affect any of us in any way, its funny how easy it is to offend people now a days. Everyone is a freaking snowflake

All I'm saying is I bet Osiris likes the New Addon ST installed.

16 RepliesI'm not a fan of lore change. That is my opinion, if lore says one thing from the past you build up to it in later time. Like when they announced that these 2 were a gay couple. I was very confused, cause I never saw them as a couple. It was more like brothers and even in dialog, Saints say something that he likes a brother to me. I'm not against the group you do whatever makes you happy. I have my set of rules, like don't force it upon others, don't involve young kids, and don't get mad or violence when someone doesn't approve your ways. Just walk away. But changing something like lore or history isn't something I'm a fan of. The reason is I like to read, but when something changes. I'm confused. Where was this info back then. Why the sudden change. Then I look around, do my research, and find out why. But most times, I reread to get info like see if I missed something or just don't care. I judge the character build up and if something changes. I'll call bad character deployment or bad story build. If you want something to lead up. Make sure the characters have the story built behind them and don't choose one that already has lore.

2 RepliesEdited by mikeyrox1234: 11/30/2022 10:35:51 PMIf Orisis kissed Saint-14 on Europa do you think his lips would get stuck? Like licking a light pole in winter 🤔

3 RepliesThe big reveal to me was that Saint is an Exo…I always thought he was a ‘Uman!?! 😱 Calling…Mr Data… 🤖 The mind boggles!? 😵💫

3 RepliesAccording to the writers of Saint and Osiris they've always been written that way source: the writer of their arc - https://twitter.com/Sphynxian/status/1332749034507800578?s=20&t=Z0z1TBW2-0OMy75_Vew9CQ where is your source that they were not gay?

Glad they got the kiss they deserved after so long, but yeah Osiris for sure tore up his lips on that robot

It’s just funny

9 RepliesEdited by Avelithe: 11/30/2022 1:56:15 PMI’m going to counter that with this: what, Exo’s can’t love? My husband’s Warlock is an Exo, and I’m an Awoken Hunter. 🤷♀️😂 That never bothered me. I’d be more uncomfortable if Saint kissed Mithrax or something, but that’s just me. I’m just tearing my hair out over the fact that this entire season was disrespected and that Nezerec’s jars were used so… trivially. I was expecting more. But that’s par for the course with Destiny these days, which makes me glad I’ve stopped my preorder for Lightfall.

3 RepliesIs it really gay if it's a robot though?
