Genuinely curious why the community is so toxic. I have been working on PVP and getting a lot better. My KD this season in trials is 1.1 which is ok. Far better than I used to be. I had a really bad round and next thing I know I’m invited to a party and receiving toxic messages. And T-bagging in trials is excessive. Why are people so toxic? Do they not realize it is just a game?

2 RepliesEasy answer, no accountability and no respect for individuals.

2 RepliesLoadouts are one reason, I see you have Jotunn on a Void Hunter which is percieved as "Cheap" because it has almost infinite range 1-shot kills + the current hate on Invis hunters making it 2x worse for them. Also people just suck. Anonymity means no repercussion for being a walking poo stain. Never seen anyone get banned for it before, so they know they get away with it and will come to the forums to laugh at you when you post about it. They get off to knowing it made you get any negative reaction. Play the sweat way or get bagged. Sometimes just get bagged anyway.

2 RepliesDon’t leave out details, what was your loadout? If you were on a le monarque I’m gonna start victim blaming you
-
3 RepliesYou are using lemonorque and jotuun on your characters. I’d bag you too.

Edited by nonchalantone: 11/29/2022 3:01:40 AMIf you look at some of the replies below, you'll see why it's so toxic. People can be anonymous and get away with it, because they can. But to be honest....the day I let some pixilated-nuts discourage me from playing.......well......
-
I will be toxic to those who are toxic, if someone tbags me in crucible, i tbag them back, but really its just tbagging thats it
-
I usually t bag when I see my opponent running cheesy load outs. Someone brought up that you are running Le Monarque, that is one annoying bow to play against so expect my t bag. I also t bag side arm users, smg users, and GL users. I respect Handcannon users now more than ever, you miss one shot and you will likely die to some cheese.

4 RepliesYou harvest what you plant. Bungie forces SBMM onto players in every single playlist. That results in sweats having to try their absolute hardest every single round even in casual playlists. That leads to extremely toxic behavior. Theres no chill, casual place in this games pvp anymore. Everything is making you sweat 24/7. That's literally the entire reason. I wanna see how you behave after you played control for a long time in high elo matches. You'd exactly behave that way. Not defending the toxic behavior but im just sayin, you either quit the game like me with this sbmm trash or you become toxic while playing. The only 2 options there are really when you are at a high mmr.

Do they not realize it is just a game?
It is just a game, so why are you so hurt?

1 ReplyYou use le monarque. lol

2 RepliesEdited by Jeidd: 11/28/2022 5:36:06 PM90% of these replies are about "young and immature players being annoying", and 10% are about the real reason on why you’re getting bagged. It’s your loadout you’re bound to make people annoyed with that.
-
Exactly, it's just a game, so don't take it personal
-
That's your answer....a silly loadout and they get a pass to be toxic. This is why you never take invite after a PVP game....ever!
-
Nobody likes jottun, that's why. It feels like a smaller nova bomb.

2 RepliesMore children play this game then actual adults. Bad parenting

7 RepliesThere is nothing wrong with t-bagging.

And T-bagging in trials is excessive. Why are people so toxic? Do they not realize it is just a game?
It makes people play worse. Once someone is sufficiently irritated, it increases the likelihood of making irrational decisions. They seem to have left an impact so it sounds like it worked

5 RepliesHas nothing to do with the game. It’s just a sad result of social media. We live in a world now where you can anonymously be a -blam!- on line and face no consequences. I guarantee that a majority of the toxicity would disappear if it was face to face. One thing about most on line -blam!-, they have no spine and won’t backup what their little fingers type.
-
2 RepliesWhy are people so offended and throwing the word toxic round so much. Get a thesaurus!
-
Bungie has decided to put unqualified people to manage and administer the game. This is the reason it is currently so bad and losing players. I love this game but I have zero faith in the personnel.
-
2 RepliesThe most toxic people in any game are the same who wouldn't make a peep if confronted in the real world. In a word: cowardice

Edited by ArmyKnight75: 11/29/2022 3:20:37 AMI think that there’s a few reasons for this. One has to do with expectations. Many in the community would like Bungie to at-least attempt to exceed even basic expectation. Bungie really doesn’t attempt to do this anymore. It’s just more of the same every season. People are frustrated with Bungie’s apparent lack of commitment to this community. Another reason has to do with many in the community feeling that Bungie does not respect their time or support. Every season starts over with imaginary light levels to grind out in order to play content that has been paid for. The grind can be extremely tedious for many that have lives outside of gaming and streaming. Again, frustration and the apparent lack of care for the community contribute to this. Third, some people are just plain negative. Being anonymous with no identifiable information makes these a-holes unaccountable. Most of these individuals are children and younger adults. Others are just plain trolls. I’m generally a positive person irl. Issues that I have with this game or with the negativity also contribute to me becoming negative on the forums. Misery loves company. It’s contagious in a sense.

1 ReplyUm I'm always toxic in destiny 2 and almost every pvp match I tbag the -blam!- out of them but I don't use the chat so..

Maybe to do with what you are using in pvp , also put every thing to private in settings so you don’t receive anything 🤷🏼♂️
