The “Community Event” adds fuel to the fire
Bungie, if you read this, I think the community event hasn’t helped and won’t help the the current community mindset.
I think you will need to address the elephant in the room and give something to players which we can be excited for. Drop the trailer for the next season or something.
Sure, people are completing the event and clearly there are still people playing the game. But, in terms of favour, I don’t think we’re feeling the wholesome love at the moment. This feels like a protest/riot in the making. Maybe that’s a bit cringe, but seriously, this community event isn’t going to do anything remotely positive. It’s going by quick, the changes are insignificant and almost insulting. This is possibly one of the more lacklustre and worse seasons we’ve had, the whole season model needs to change asap.
I doubt my comments are helpful/nor going to be considered but I wanted to constructively give feedback, which maybe will be considered. Just maybe.

25 RepliesYou know what the community event is doing? It's reminding everyone, that standing in the tower using a glitch to complete the event, is MORE FUN THAN THE PLAYLISTS. MORE ENGAGING THAN PLAYING THE SAME STUFF WE GET TOLD TO PLAY EVERY SINGLE EVENT. Hell, even most of the people not cheesing it, are just running in circles through lost sectors because THEY ARE MORE REWARDING THAN THE REST OF THE GAME. Hopefully, it's not just the players seeing this. Hopefully Bungie recognizes how their design needs a fundamental shift, how their playlists have been rotting away for literal years, how the currencies and rewards are -blam!-. I love to see the community, unified in putting their middle fingers up by cheesing this event. Watching the event tracker skyrocket because of the cheese has been more fun than the rest of this season.

[b]I HOPE[/b] because the Eliksni event was cheesed it kills any increase to player population. Which would serve as a wake up call for Bungie.

Destiny needs something fresh. I don't know what that would look like. SRL returning? Overhauling the clan system to include things like shared social spaces and cross clan competition? New pvp maps dropping more than once a year? Investing as much effort into improving things like grandmasters, as they do with trials? I can't say the game is bad. Witch queen was amazing. It's just the same old thing we've had for going on ten years.

Bad news peaches, Bungie dont G.A.F, they already got your money, plus a bunch of money for lightfall and you gonna be getting a bunch of weapons you already paid for twice already and you gonna get a new sub class that’ll be over powered at first but will be nerfed into oblivion after the first season! Accept Destiny for what it is! Either stop -blam!- about a game you paid for or stop dumping money into bungies laps cause you know your getting alot of the same crap next year too!

It’s a shame that the only good community event was way back in season of the worthy, because the sundial activity was diet menagerie, an offshoot of what is hailed by many as the greatest seasonal activity we’ve ever had. Not only that, but it teased an actual meaningful addition to the game: The return Trials of Osiris, which while it definitely has its problems, is the only meaningful contribution to PvP players have had up until rift and eruption were introduced into Iron Banner. No other event has contributed anything meaningful, and the activities associated have been monotonous.

I love that this community “event” was just cheesed like crazy. The absolute laziness on Bungie’s part is staggering. They couldn’t even put an animated Mithrax in person showing you the “improvements”; just dialogue and text. And they largely do the same thing with telling the 5-minute story of the season but stretched over 10 or so weeks.

I got really excited for it & it's completed already & the Eliskni quarters looks the EXACT same, except there's about 8 crops, a staircase, 2 benches, some alcohol behind the bar. That's it? Like are they actually okay? Bungie I mean. Old community events yeah had tons of grinding but the completion always felt more fulfilling than this... absolute disaster. I've still not preordered Lightfall yet because I feel like this games getting more & more incompetent.

10 RepliesIf the community thinks the game will get better, then the community is wrong and in denial. This game will not get better. It’s been broken since D2 launched, and now it’s empty. A broken and empty game. Activision, the main investor of the Destiny franchise and one of the ruthless company in the videogame industry dropped this game and left it for dead because they knew that it’s a hopeless dying game. Activision tried to save it with Forsaken but it was too late and beyond saving. That’s why Activision left because even when Forsaken came, it failed to generate enough profit. Forsaken was a failure to bring gamers back. If Activision, a ruthless player in this industry found Forsaken to be a failure and left the game for dead, then the community is delusional and is in denial to think that this game will get better. It wont!🤣 It’s a broken and empty game! Laughable.🤣

2 RepliesI lost interest in this game. Didn't participate in any of the latest events. The whole thing has become boring beyond belief. As is the seasonal format. I regret buying the 4 seasons in advance, at the release of Witch Queen. I won't make the same mistake again. As a matter of fact, I don't intend to buy any more content including Lightfall. I am (or rather 'was') mainly a Crucible player, but after what they did with the Control playlist, especially the 'quitter penalty', I am not going to give Bungie any more money. They stop me from playing... fine. I'll stop playing. Players are leaving, numbers are dropping, and that's entirely on them. I used to love this game, but they finally managed to piss me off for the last time.

3 RepliesAll of these posts about the same thing makes me feel like many people are just actively looking for a fire to stoke. Yes, the “event” is lazy and lame. It’s also a way to very easily and passively obtain red bar weapons while very literally doing nothing more than you already do in game. I agree that Bungie has lost touch and I have no love for the overall direction of the game, but this whole thing just seems like free loot to me so I don’t understand the backlash.

The season model does need to change. I avoid ketchcrash and expedition like its gambit. the weapons arent cosmetically pleasing to me imo. and arc 3.0 is boring (unless youre a titan). this was just a teaser for LF for me. I was thinking they would up the ante because of how fast the event got completed, maybe the next reset. I see why a lot of people are upset, and again i understand. Its literally the day before Thanksgiving. They not thinking about yall crying over a damn event rn LOL.

Just another mediocre event with bugs . It can’t get any worse right 🤷🏼♂️ Next season ….meh ! Even with the pvp changes just have low expectations. With all the issues in this game Bungie are just adding to it when they put anything new in game .

I agree, i'm not even interested in it, not only that, i'm considering quiting the game (again) for another four years. After 4 years vacation i come back to a game that hasn't changed 1 iota since Destiny One, how cheap can a developer get? ...real cheap it seems.
