How do I counter a warlock's nova bomb
I don't stand a chance against my friend :( He is a warlock and we fight each other in a private crucible match. He uses the nova bomb catalyst i think? It follows me around and kills me.. I am a titan and I use hammer of sol. Hammer of sol doesn't work. Thunder crash doesn't work. Sentinel Shield doesn't work. Nova Bomb is so op in pvp! How do i counter it as a titan?
Edit: My friend and me was in a private Mayhem match, our super cooldown lasts for 3 secs. I tried void shield on him and it didn't work because he had these mini nova bombs that comes out of the big nova bomb. Burning Maul doesn't work at all. The warding dome doesn't work at

Like just about any super, run away. It’s a shutdown for a reason, and realistically not even a very good one at that since slowva in particular is extremely easy to outrun. Even just run around a corner and you’ll be good. As for Ward of Dawn; Nova Bomb has always popped it, even in D1. Not every super can, so some need to be effective at it. Don’t try to block a nova with a dome. Instead, bait around a corner and THEN activate your strangle dome after the bomb has already went off.

You can't commit to a fight if you know he's super charged. You have to bait him into using it and then run and turn corners. You can't beat Nova Bomb with sentinel shield because Nova Bomb is a shutdown super. When you see his radar ping trick him into thinking you will stand your ground by just prefiring off the hip and then turn around and run.

If he’s using Cataclysm, try to use the tracking against him. Get try to steer it into obstacles, and then outrun the seekers. But if he’s using it wisely as a shutdown super, there’s not much else you can do against it as a Titan. Hunter Dodge used to be able to break the tracking but they (thankfully) nerfed that bit of ridiculousness.

It’s a shut down super calm down lol it’s not even close to being op it moves slow it’s big so hits walls easily don’t be mad because your bad.

However since you're playing Mayhem, you won't have much time to counter since he'll get another one back while you're dealing with the first. To my knowledge only Hunter can deflect Nova bomb and Titan can only block the Vortex Nova with the shield super. Bubble can eat both. In an open 1v1 you're kind of screwed unless he over shoots it.

One of the few stupid supers that deal self damage. It’s your shutdown super now. 50% of the time my own team mates usually manage to pull this one on me. “Nova bomb…everybody jump if front of him!!!”. Just like rockets.

1 ReplyI think I posted before but posting again. 1. RUN RUN FAR AWAY AND NEVER RETURN: You have to just outrun it and hope it hits a corner far enough away from you. 2. Nice Shootin' there Tex: Shoot it out of the sky. It'll burst if it's the slow homing one. It'll still have the small clusters that I think you can shoot too but just stay away and you'll be fine. 3. Blowing Bubbles: Nova Bombs both versions will destroy your Titan Bubble. It's just so much energy to take that it quite literally pops. DON'T RELY on it to stop supers. 9/10 it just buys some time. 4. I hear using the Hunter's Twirl staff can deflect/divert it: Not sure as I never tested this, but if that's the case yet another BS reason Hunters will always be overpowered. Your best bet is to try to shoot the big one then run away. If it still catches you the smaller ones can home in on you. Practice with people and you should be fine.
