I really enjoyed the old Iron Banner with the Control rules and a hunt when one team controlled all three points. It was a great balance of tactics, risk and reward. My main complaint with it was that you would only allow us to play that mode one week every 4 weeks. Now it is maybe one week every 8 weeks? I don't understand. Were people not playing Iron Banner? Did no one else enjoy it? I don't understand why you would make it nearly impossible to play your best crucible mode. I don't play Destiny 24/7, so it feels like I need to win the lottery to play my favorite gamemode now. Especially since you are taking away the dedicated control playlists.

Best crucible mode is mayhem. But also reducing the frequency of IB was a terrible move. You either have to really no life it for a week or no life it for both weeks to get the ranks. I guilded it the first time it was around but you have to nearly do another rank reset before even getting the shader

If IB was actually competitive (and used SBMM), I'd be fine losing out on Trials for another weekend. Right now, IB games usually end in a Mercy which isn't fun for anyone

3 RepliesI FIND IT QUITE AMUSING!

2 RepliesEveryone complained that IB was always control.

1 ReplyMost of you move like bots

PvP on P2P is the issue for me. Oh, and no incentive for even suffering thru it. I play PvP in other games, but won’t touch it in D2.

1 Reply2 times a season is so fk stpd

They haven't made a new IB armor set for like 2 years and then their next set is recycled from D1 so .. i mean pretty good job so far they do.not.care

Edited by Doctor_Roidberg: 11/20/2022 8:40:30 PMThe reduction of the number of Iron Banners a bad move, but it was one I think was made for the sake of what Bungie thought would be a better experience. Yes, they can change up the Iron Banner experience. We played Control for literal years then inside of two seasons we got Eruption and Rift. Less Iron Banners per season likely lets them tweak it on its off weeks more effectively. That said, it’s awful for the players, particularly when they create a Title for it. If Bungie thinks I’m about to go getting two Iron Banner rank resets in two weeks time they’re smoking something strong. It makes Iron Lord not a testament to skill or dedication, but to time crunch.

Control is overkill in this game ! It’s ok in control but just boring ….and most people don’t even bother to cap or do that weird half cap and run off 🙄😂

Edited by FuzzyWolf: 11/20/2022 10:23:23 PMIb is something they should be leaning harder into to be honest and bringing back power levels would cause more people to play for pinnacles so it's like they shot themselves in the foot if they wanted more people playing more often they could just reduce the effectiveness of levels if needed so ttk shifts wouldn't be as drastic not that it really was before unless you were max lvl vs season starting level I mean it's not like they haven't just been rotating old armor and weapon sets anyway so how much time do they really put into it

12 RepliesI disliked control as a solo player simply due to the fact no matter what I did. All solos or not. I could not win, no matter how well I performed due to - people not capping zones - the same people who didn't cap zones also gave the enemy team the most kills - I was alone on an objective because I had to cap. Meanwhile my team was trying to complete the ability bounties for their season pass Many reasons I just don't like control but the 3 outlined above just made dislike banner. At least if I lose. I know I did -blam!- for the most part due to me not being a good slayer that match. I am not going to stack either. I did it and I don't understand the appeal of 6 stacking nowadays. Back in destiny 1 you could get absolutely lose with a casual 6 stack. It was just, less suffering. Now. A 6 stack just...wins for the most part. Because we communicate and the enemies refuse to do so. Anyway Thanks for my Ted talk
before people come at me. I remember a time where i had the most kills and captures and still lost
they found IB participation seems to be largely limited to whatever players want from the mode then they stop playing it, participation dropped off massively after the first iron banner week and going off a cliff after the 2nd one even the grindy pinnacles weren't bringing many players back most players only want the gear cosmetics and barely care about the rest, maybe a weapon or two so they reduce the amount of times it is in play to make it higher participation when it happens and to hopefully make the matchmaking better because bigger pool of players

It would be nifty if they just had IB action sack Classic IB control, clash, and the other 2 modes they added.

3 RepliesWhy should we have IB that almost exactly replicates another mode that's available all the time?
-
Iron banner doesn’t incentivize their core players (streamers) to market for them as much. More trials!!

3 RepliesControl is trash. We need clash.
