I left D2 because it stopped being a fun game. The exotic armor blocked in a mega boring activity in the lost sectors. Boring and kinda sweaty. SBMM is NO FUN. Games are supposed to be fun. I bought MW2 and even if I hate SBMM at least I can grind the weapons and get score streaks and whatnot. Your numbers show that what you're doing is not pulling people in.
Admit you're failing and try again. I wasted money on this years season pass. Not planning on doing it again.

34 RepliesEdited by Docventure: 11/15/2022 3:47:11 PMUmmmm dude....your KD went up massively this season compared to last season. Especially in Control. And you were WAY more active in it this season than you were last season. Your win rate went from 35% to exactly 50% too. SBMM no fun? LOL BS. I don't mind you have an opinion on SBMM I guess...but in this case you're just blatantly LYING about it to push a narrative. And hanging on Aztecross's pasty white sack doesn't help here at all.

11 RepliesNo fun for you and Cross and alike. For everyone else it is.
-
yeah, for once pvp is fun for non-skilled players. bohooo. no really, get over yourself already.
-
There are more factors than just sbmm.

43 RepliesExtra! extra! Self interested streamer peddles self-serving nonsensical narrative to Protect his own bottom line! Read all about it!

1 ReplyEeww how hard is it to accept how PvP games are supposed to play? Y’all just can’t live without one-sided stomping games can ya?
-
SBMM always works against the tip top players, but theoretically makes the game better for the majority. It doesn’t even necessarily hurt the best, just makes it so they can’t stomp on everyone all the time. I watched his videos too and I typically like his stuff, but this is a move that most streamers don’t want but most players probably benefit from. What’s wrong with an even fight? Other people want to enjoy the game too. His answer in his video was for people to “get good,” but that was the case, then every match would be more competitive and streamers would be back to complaining that it was too hard!

Edited by Senuna: 11/16/2022 8:42:30 AMThe difference in quality of games is night and day between Iron Banner and Control on all counts. There's more lag, worse balancing, and less fun overall outside of SBMM. If Bungie reverts SBMM, I'm going back to Apex permanently.

11 RepliesNo. Highly skilled players stomping on new players and casuals sucks. This alienates those players. Remember the bully at school? Yeah. It's like that.
-
1 ReplyThe majority of the PvP streamers / YT’er only make PvP videos in rumble now. 🤣

32 RepliesEdited by Artisan: 11/15/2022 9:35:50 PMGarbage video from Cross making entirely unfounded claims to peddle a narrative that suits him. He's a not very intelligent (sorry Cross, it's true), full-time as-a-job player. He's using his platform to destroy fair SBMM because it suits him and he couldn't care less that CBMM-only ruins Crucible for average players. This is one reason players hate Streamer-YouTuber Promoters. He wants to meme out and have a casual experience stomping the life out of Crucible, whilst denying that very casual experience for casual and average players.

1 ReplyIt's not even SBMM anymore if my DestinyTracker odds are to be believed. More often than not, the odds of winning or losing ANY of my matches in Control have been skewed towards a 60% chance or more of specifically winning or losing. I wouldn't exactly call that skill based when one side has more than a 50% chance (give or take 1-3 percentage points) of winning or losing. And the fact that it seems Control is back to pre-determining matches and the bullshit quitter penalty still exists is absurd. No sane person would willingly subject themselves to that nonsense anymore than they have to (Pinnacle).

30 RepliesEdited by AbsolutZeroGI: 11/16/2022 8:06:06 AMPeople are not leaving the video game because of SBMM. Some C average high school student in a YouTube video with a graph doesn't suddenly make them smart. They just want imbalanced matches to make their b roll look good like they're better at the game than they are. People leave this game because of it's craptastic community, insanely long grinds, burnout, and because it's not their cup of tea.
-
No one's leaving this game because of sbmm 😂 and if they are then it's the sweaty no lifers who just want easy games, and if that's the case good riddance. Overwatch 2, MW2, god of war all came out recently

2 RepliesFunny how cross managed to hit every out of touch youtuber talking point in one video Almost as if hes using the abnormally low player count as a way to push some sort of Agenda

7 RepliesI do find it kind of funny when people say they leave Destiny because of SBMM but then they go to Call of Duty which arguably has even thicker SBMM than Destiny. 🤷
-
6 RepliesSbmm has nothing to do with the piss poor pvp execution. Pvp is here to play while we wait for pve content. But the community takes it seriously and bungie makes changes to weapons and abilities where it’s just terrible and you have one class soooo op you have to play that class to even compete.
-
5 RepliesAs much as Cross is entertaining (can’t argue much there), he often gets things wrong and his entire view of the PvP community is centered around the highest skill level. The guy made his bread and butter destroying people in PvP with meme loadouts and weird guns. As soon as that goes away he complains that he can’t “experiment” anymore. The vast majority of the community couldn’t do that before during CBMM as 1 skilled person could turn a chill match into a sweatfest. I don’t think SBMM is 100% a good idea, but it’s okay to try things out and try to throw lower skill players a bone every 3 years. Asking streamers to comment on it and looking to them for advice when they make up a very small and specific portion of the community is just a recipe for disaster. Remember double primary? Yeah, that was streamers. Remember Special ammo in crates in D1? Also streamers. They do a lot of good for the community, but you need to take their opinions with a grain of salt.

1 ReplyNew games are out. This season story was very lacking and it's already done. People come back when there's a new season of new expansion anyway lol
-
There’s a difference between a choice that pushes people away and a choice that simply doesn’t give them a reason to stay. And honestly, the latter, is arguably worse than the first. People might be leaving for lots of different reasons, but SBMM certainly hasn’t helped retain anyone as players. Nobody chooses to play a game because it has a really great algorithm for matchmaking. And even more so, nobody will play an 8 year old game for years into the future, because of its stupid matchmaking parameters. Especially when new titles are coming out, that even use the same matchmaking parameters! This is all very foolish, and it’s not audience focused design or discourse.

There’s quite the list of items.

During content droughts would be the ideal time for many PVE mains(myself for example)to play PVP more often because there’s nothing left to accomplish in PVE. I don’t really anymore and it’s NOT because of SBMM. It’s because the game remains broken. Cross play console lag, P2P, no new maps, etc etc. Having SBMM is a good thing. Actually the change to SBMM made a broken game mode ALMOST worthwhile to suffer through. I’ll be honest. I started to play enough games to complete the 8 bounties for the weekly vendor trinket and in my opinion the games were more FUN then they were when CBMM was being utilized. But that doesn’t make for a good enough reason to fully dive into the PVP The PVP mains have had it bad for a long time. The fact of the matter is they just moved on to other games. Good for them. If anything should be vaulted it should be PVP. Keep Trials for the up and coming Streamers and sprinkle in Iron Banner(which I played on reset) just for something different. The rest remove and focus on PVE and QoL improvements. Just think how many nerfs to weapons, supers, grenades, armour pieces would not be necessary if PVP was removed? Ted Talk over.
-
Well you haven't been playing for 4 weekly and yoy only play pvp in a looters shooter. So yeah. Nice post. Lol
-
The pvp is bottom tier regardless of cbmm or sbmm.
