Shadebinder
Stasis is mostly fine. There is only one problem is cite. The inability to shatter stasis crystals like shatterdive or cryoclasm can.
I'd make the following changes
1: add another melee ability shattering snap this ability deals 30 damage in a small radius around you and shatters nearby crystals and frozen combatants.
2: give the subclass blink. You could blink while using the super in the campaign if you used voidwalker and it made the super feel less clunky to use.
Voidwalker
Voidwalker is also in a great state, but chaos accelerant is much weaker than the other grenade aspects, handheld supernova is bad, nova bomb could use an exotic to enhance it's damage, and the melee could use an alternate choice.
I'd make the following changes
1: chaos accelerant needs to grant 2 fragment slots and a rework in one of two ways.
chaos accelerant no longer needs to charge grenades. Swap between handheld supernova and magnetic grenade by [Icarus dash keybind]
Or
charging grenades increases their damage by 25%
2: Return atomic breach as another melee option
3: handheld supernova is a 1 shot ability again if all bolts hit
4: introduce new exotic with following effect
void multi kills generate orbs of power for you and allies. Void kills while your super is charged grant a damage bonus to nova bomb based on the number of stacks. (Up to 20, think like parasite)
dawnblade
Dawnblade has far more cracks than either voidwalker or Shadebinder.
Two of the aspects are far too reliant on each other. Well is the only reason this subclass is viable. Phoenix dive is bad. Bottom tree dawnblade is gone
Here is what I would do.
1. combine heat rises and Icarus dash into one aspect. Remove heal on airborne multi kills if necessary.
2. Heat rises activates on grenade kills instead of consumption.
3. Touch of flame no longer grants bonus to healing grenades, but instead allows the user to charge any grenade into healing grenade.
4. Add new aspect igniting touch with following effect
Killing scorched enemies causes a moderately powerful explosion that scorches nearby enemies. Enemies that take damage from scorch refill your grenade
5. dawnblade deals more damage and refills energy upon killing non guardian combatants.
6. Phoenix dive has a 5 second cool down and has pre 3.0 effect
Stormcaller:
Stormcaller has about as many cracks as dawnblade. Arc soul promotes stagnant play which is counterintuitive with it's aggressive playstyle. The supers are weak. Lightning surge should do more. More abilities should be buffed by amplified.
Here is what I would change.
1. Stormcaller deals 50% more damage to PvE combatants, lasts 25% longer, and applies jolt.
2. Chaos reach deals 15% more damage
3. Arc soul aspect is removed and a new class ability ionic pulse with the following effect is added: this ability applies an arc soul to you and allies near you that lasts for 20 seconds (damage of arc soul may need to be adjusted)
4. New aspect perpetual charge is added dealing arc damage periodically generates ionic traces. Picking up an ionic trace causes your next ability to apply a powerful jolt to it's target. Dealing damage with jolt partially refills your ability energy.
5. Lightning surge restores melee energy upon jolt kills
6. Amplified now grants the following buffs to abilities.
-Flux grenade: deals 5% more damage
-lightning grenade: lasts 5 seconds longer
-Blinding grenade: has a slightly larger radius
-Pulse grenade: lasts 3 seconds longer
-Arcbolt grenade: targets 1 more combatant
-skip grenade: charges 25% faster
-storm grenade: has a slightly larger radius
7. Add blink to stormcaller subclass.

1 ReplyOther than the thunder nade duration being too high while amped, I think these buffs are pretty good. I would probably not make another ionic trace aspect and instead make one focused on being amped (like bungie said was their original intention for warlock).

8 RepliesEdited by NotCreative123: 11/10/2022 5:48:50 PMWhy are Warlock subclasses the only ones you people talk about? What about Solar Titan, Stasis Titan, Stasis Hunter or Arc Hunter? I guess you only care about "balancing" the character you play

I get where you are coming from, but I have a few comments. Shadebinder: -Eventually Bungie is gonna add more abilities and supers for stasis. I can see this being a good one for that. -I don’t see blink as a good option for this super. I think that the movement is fine as it is. If you wanna see a slow and clunky super, look no further than behemoth Voidwalker: -I’m liking the second option for chaos accelerant better. But if that were the case, I don’t think they should one shot then, just get guardians to one hit health. -I don’t remember what atomic breach is exactly, but if it has the same push back effect as the current one, o don’t see it being useful. -really liking the exotic idea, but it can’t be too powerful of a damage buff as nova bomb already does decent damage these days. Dawnblade: -I’m skeptical about this one as it creates a problem which I’ll explain in the next point. -I feel this would be a direct nerf to heat rises. I get that you have it this way to balance out the fact that Icarus dash is combined with it. But the problem becomes the fact that it is hard to get grenade kills consistently in pvp, therefore making the heat rises part of this new combined perk pretty much useless. I think if the 2 were to combine, then they’d have to get rid of all the healing effects from either one (ie Icarus healing and getting health on multi kills as you stated). That way, all it does is provides better flight and a air dodge. -good idea, but again one problem. Scorch is already powerful enough for add clear. This could potentially become super broken. Easy fix though. Make all this happen only when radiant. -I’m fine with the Phoenix dive idea, only if it still stays in the class ability slot (meaning no wells, which makes it a tradeoff). Stormcaller: -damage buff, ok with. Same with the jolt part. But for lasting longer, you already have an exotic that does this better. Before you say “oh, you shouldn’t need an exotic to make a super better,” look no further than thundercrash and falling star. -the rest are all good, we’ll balanced ideas.
-
Icarus dash should be added to all warlock subclass and there should be some exotics tied to it that give it extra perks similar to hunter dodge and its associated exotics.

1 ReplyThey don’t care, they want us to play well or play a new game

3 RepliesGenerally good ideas. Shadebinder: - Don’t think it needs blink… doesn’t really mesh with subclass identity. Stormcaller and Voidwalker though mesh with blink. Don’t ever remember super having blink… - Melee idea is great! Voidwalker: - I’d love the Chaos Reach option 2. The charge animation is unique and I don’t think the change to HHSN would work well. It’d just make it more clunky. PvE damage boost for it is better. - I’d also take Energy Drain back as a melee option. - HHSN is a mess. Idk, how to fix it… Maybe let it make enemies volatile? Idk. - I like the exotic idea. My thought for one was: “Vortex grenades and vortex nova bomb last longer and make enemies volatile when devour is active. Increased devour duration (+4 seconds). Dawnblade - Generally good ideas. Maybe scrap the grenade energy bonus on the new aspect if needed. Just being able to chain burns would be amazing. - Phoenix Dive doesn’t need to be that fast, but keeping the healing where it’s at Cure and Restoration x1 would be fine if the cooldown was near that of Striker’s Thruster. Stormcaller: - I think Arc Soul is fine. You just place a rift, pick up the soul and go. Don’t really see the “passive play” - I think your underestimating how much damage jolt applies when constantly activated. My thought: Add: “Casting your super while amplified causes hits to jolt targets” to Electrostatic Mind aspect. Then give a smaller buff ~10% to Chaos Reach as a damage ramp towards the end of the super. - Don’t think warlock grenades should be boosted by amped. Causes too much clash with titans. - I also don’t think lightning surge needs a buff. Currently heavy handed and Melee kickstart can work at the same time on this (which normally doesn’t work) resulting in ~70% of your melee charge back very easily. Slap on 1 ionic Trace and a well mod and you’re at 100. - Yes to blink. Overall, I think Voidwalker and Shadebinder are both in good spots. The changes to Rending are much more forgiving now on Shadebinder. As most builds for it really only need 3 fragments this should be fine. Voidwalker really only needs a boost to Accelerant and a Nova Bomb damage exotic. Maybe a small tweak to Skull of Dire Ahamkara could work. Dawnblade and Stormcaller definitely need help though. Good thoughts!

Instead of ice snap it should be warlocks taking out the staff like in the super to shatter.
-
Edited by ♤ TeaBags0614 ♤: 11/10/2022 6:10:06 PMI had an idea for Shadbinder that’s an aspect like this “Entropic Starheart” “Just as the light of dying stars still travel through space, you become a torrent of propelling unceasing energy with one delivery in mind” When your melee ability is fully charged, hold [melee] causes your Guardian to pull out the staff and dash forward upon the ground. Dashing into frozen targets or Stasis crystals shatters them. Dashing into non-frozen targets slows them temporarily. Think of it as kind of like the sword dash from SoT
-
I think blink should be added to all warlock subclasses. Its already in the supers, might as well add it for all the subclasses. That would honestly be a massive start to making warlocks better and increasing their usage rate on pvp

6 RepliesWhy would Bungie go to all the trouble of making arc and solar weak as they did? Because they don’t want us to play arc and solar warlocks. So don’t. They won’t fix this. They did it on purpose. We just have to adapt and move forward.

1 ReplyEdited by Ranthop_II: 11/10/2022 6:31:17 AMThe only subclasses I'd actually like to see change are Dawnblade and Stormcaller. I'd love blink on Shadebinder though. Some of your proposed changes are things Bungie wants to you to build into. As long as Charged with Light and Elemental Well mods are in the game I can't see those ideas happening. With that said though, there are a couple good ideas for Dawnblade and Stormcaller. Although, these can also be added to existing or new Aspects.
4. Add new aspect igniting touch with following effect Killing scorched enemies causes a moderately powerful explosion that scorches nearby enemies. Enemies that take damage from scorch refill your grenade 5. dawnblade deals more damage and refills energy upon killing non guardian combatants. 6. Phoenix dive has a 5 second cool down and has pre 3.0 effect
Re: Dawnblade 1. & 2. While I understand why you'd want this change, Heat Rises and Icarus Dash are fine as separate aspects. Would I like to add something to these aspects, absolutely (refer to my 4.). 3. I like this change, there's been a few times I've forgotten that I can't just convert grenades into healing 'nades. I'm also waiting to see if Bungie will just release a new a exotic armor piece with this function. 4. This feels like an attempt to get around applying more scorch stacks. Why not give Heat Rises or Icarus Dash, or both when combo'd, this ability - "Solar weapons apply scorch". It seems simple enough. 5. & 6. I'm not gonna say no, but you can easily build into Phoenix Dive with Elemental Wells. What I would like to see instead: Daybreak projectile hits recharge your class ability and Phoenix Dive kills extend the super's duration. That, I feel, is more likely to happen.
Here is what I would change. 1. Stormcaller deals 50% more damage to PvE combatants, lasts 25% longer, and applies jolt. 2. Chaos reach deals 15% more damage 3. Arc soul aspect is removed and a new class ability ionic pulse with the following effect is added: this ability applies an arc soul to you and allies near you that lasts for 20 seconds (damage of arc soul may need to be adjusted) 4. Add blink to stormcaller subclass.
Re: Stormcaller 1. & 2. A super damage buff is the single thing that needs to happen. Jolt is a nice touch, but we can apply that with any of the new weapons that were released in Plunder. 3. I guess..? It's interesting! 4. I think I need to introduce you Voltshot plus anything that does DOT. Plus you can build into Arc 'nades that apply Jolt. It's a nice idea though. 5. You can build into Lightning Surge with Heavy Handed and Elemental Wells. 6. If this is fundamental change to Amplified then you buff everyone. Otherwise I feel like this could be added to Electrostatic Mind. 7. I won't say no Blink.

1 ReplySome great ideas here..thanks for posting

I mostly agree. I think the current stasis melee needs either a speed/distance buff, better tracking, or larger detonation area.
-
3 RepliesLong post. Too many words.

Let Warlocks fly. Make it an alternate class ability. Make it like a weaker version of Heat Rises so Dawnblade is still the best at it. I don't care, just let me fly, dammit.

1 ReplyWarlocks are very fun and viable to play right now. The only thing that feels underpowered from them is Chaos Reach. That absolutely needs a buff to compete with other DPS Supers. They're fine as they are. Not a single subclass feels like a waste of time to play as.
