PvP Straight Gunplay Mode
Bungie games still have some of if not the best gunplay, but a lot of PvP is trying to sift through loads of other things to get into those gunfights. It's rewarding and fun when you do, but a mode where it's the star and not an afterthought would be special.
In checking some PvP wishlists and general discussion threads, I keep seeing this suggested more than ever. It's been brought up in the past and even replied to, I'd love to see something come of it.
Just a mode is all, if you don't like it don't play it. It would bring back the roots of Bungie's original PvP endeavors and create new ways to play. The gun variety of the game is actually incredible, it would be the perfect mode to show that off.
How it's balanced beyond that is up for grabs (no special ammo start, etc.), it could even be curated. I just know the general theme of the mode would perform.

11 RepliesThis is why I thought Crucible Labs existed, but apparently not. Seems like the perfect place to stick a gunfight only mode for a week or two. Oh, and I would play it. I'd also like to see a no exotic mode, and I can already feel the hate from that suggestion....

Include gun game. Where everyone starts off with the same gun, and every kill you get it rotates to a new gun.

I would like D2 to be more like Jet Set Willy. On the C64 of course as the Spectrum was a glorified calculator.

Can we also get one for pure abilities? Bungie messed up Mayhem by slowing down regen rate in Mayhem so much it almost feels like normal ability regen.

Straight gunplay =battlefield, cod, gears of war, and a plethora of other games. You don't like abilities then go play those. Bungie never should have put pvp in this game.

They should have all types of different modes at all times, but Bungie is Bungie. They would probably claim they would have to remove the Moon and Nessus to do it.

7 Replies“Best” gunplay? Lmao. Yes, a single HC round wins v. 5 rounds from an auto at mid range. Sounds great to me 🙄 Bullets kill people. 5 bullets do it better than 1. Especially if the auto user shot first.

The gunplay in this game is too good to not have a mode that focuses on it. This would be a great mode to have without all the cheap one shots being thrown at you. *Lorentz driver noises intensify*

1 ReplyThey tried this when D2 first released. Double primary and way less abilities. Was a bit of a disaster. I say open the flood gates. In-nerf everything and massively buff everything that is underperforming. Let it be fun.

Tbh I think pvp should be nothing but guns. No abilities or supers. It keeps the pvp crybabies happy with everything being relatively balanced in terms of accessibility, and keeps pve feeling space magic-y. Of course it all still needs work, desperately. Either way idc, cus I don't play pvp. I just think it would be an interesting change of pace
