I want to start out by saying that I love this game. I have been here since the beginning of Destiny 2 with some breaks the most recent was with season of worthy (which imo one of the worst seasons ever created). I played D1 vanilla and just couldn't get myself to play again after how bare bones it was. With that said everything I am going to suggest or rant about comes from a place of love and I know this game can be so much more! I'm going to break up my suggestions/rants into sections for easier readability. I can't fit everything so this will just be PvE. Let's get into guardians.
Light Level
💠 Grinding season after season after season just to go up 10 for GM’s has gotten really stale with the community.
💠The artifact artificial level just gets reset each and every season making it just another slog to get through for the only 2 hard activities in the game GM’s and Master raids.
💠Most things in the game the light level doesn’t even matter so grinding for 2 activities seems very taxing and again I believe most if not all of the community is over it and would like to see a revamp in some form.
Strikes
💠 Strike specific loot! The normal strike playlist needs some form of strike specific loot added
💠 At the end of a strike add a chest similar to raids and use glimmer or add the currency glassneedle to buy the loot (I heard that was a material used for strike loot in D1. If I’m wrong I apologize)
💠 Add a pinnacle weapon specific to strikes.
💠 Strike weapons that have more origin traits tied to strikes (or better ones than what's on them now)
💠 We need new strike modifiers, implement some fun ones from D1? Like faster super recharge so strikes aren’t just a slog to get through
💠 Or implement some randomly each week that is used in the nightfall activity
💠 Higher enemy density
💠 Strikes can be just run through we need some harder enemies implement or just add more
💠 More strikes! Removing some was a crime
Gambit
💠 Vault it…I know that won’t ever happen but a guy could hope
💠 PLEASE FIX THE MOTES FROM FALLING UNDERNEATH THE MAPS
💠 We never had a new map…ever please for the love of god add maps
💠 Remove the pvp element and make it a boss rush. Whoever just kills there primeval first wins
💠 Better incentives to actually play the mode
💠 Remove the boss health gating it’s just not fun
💠 In an earlier twab it was mentioned they would fix the spawn issue…that never happened please make it so when you die you don’t have to travel 5 miles just to get back into the action.
GM’s
💠 Remove light level requirement
💠 Contest mode is enabled anyway so just have us be set automatically 20-25 under (The leviathan public event area does this already so why not just have this a thing for GMs?)
💠 Stop being champion dependent (The Witch Queen campaign showed you can have hard content without the use of champions. This needs to come to GMs more)
💠 Artifact mods are just really bad design wise. Having restricted loadouts just for Champs is getting stale and unfun.
💠 Champions shouldn't regen nearly all their health in .10 seconds after stunning (a bit of an exaggeration but it’s so annoying how fast they regen health)
💠 It feels we get the same strikes almost every season or every other season. Can we get a better rotation?
💠 Maybe convert battlegrounds to be GM level and add that into the mix. Since battlegrounds is in the strike playlist maybe this can be an option?
Raids
💠 Needing 5 raid weapons to be able to craft them is a tad much. I think 3 is fine which will mean less fatigue with engaging with raids
💠 Bad luck protection needs improvement for raid exotics and now red border weapons (In the new duality dungeon there are triumphs to help the exotic sword to have a higher chance of dropping. This should be incorporated with raids going forward it’s a pretty good system (I don’t know the percent increase each one))
💠 Give actual good experience points for beating a raid. A weekly bounty should NEVER give more XP than an end game piece of content.
💠 The rotator raids should give a pinnacle for each encounter. This will encourage players to play through the whole raid and not just the boss checkpoint.
💠 Plates and memorizing symbols is getting really old. We need something else like maybe shooting certain things in a certain order as one example
💠 More bosses like Rhulk! His boss design is truly unique in ALL of Destiny and we need more of that type of innovation.
Holiday Events
💠 They did a good job with the EAZ for solstice, but Festival was largely unchanged and still unfun (bugs from last year weren’t even removed for this year)
💠 Adding a holiday title is a great idea, but when part of it is running the activity 35 times that becomes excessive to the point where it’s no longer fun.
💠 Reduce some of the tedious challenges for the titles.
💠 Please change the Christmas event from cookies to an actual event
💠 Bring back the snowball mechanic from the tower and in the world activities.
💠 Having people pay $10 for an event that lasts 3 weeks and the same price as a season is just weird.
💠 The last 2 event cards haven’t even been worth getting. It would be nice to actually earn things in game rather than just buy everything
💠 The tickets you earn as a free player don’t do anything as of now. They should be able to be sold to Tess for something related to the holiday activity (emblem, ghost shell etc)
Seasonal Model
💠 The grid system is getting very stale. We need something that is more engaging and just the simple 9x9 grid style of upgrades
💠 Have the person of interest of the season actually be the vendor rather than some machine. To add more life to it.
💠 The umbral requirements need to be scaled back a smidge. (Needing 27 just to forge a weapon is pretty ridiculous for an activity that gives maybe 4-5 umbrella energy)
💠 Going forward, NEVER again use public events as a seasonal activity. (Matchmaking will always be best as to ensure an actual full completion)
💠 Each week please stop forcing the player to do the activity just for a minute long piece of dialogue. (Doing this ON TOP of doing even more for the seasonal activity will ensure players get burnt out and annoyed with the activity.)
💠 Make a seasonal activity that allows you to pick a reward at the end like menagerie or even sundial
💠 If you insist on making a triumph for the seal please don’t make it so we have to ruin an entire activity for other people…
💠 The last 2 seasons had weekly challenges/triumphs revolving around crafting the guns. I think these should either be removed or scaled back since the drop rates are not great and makes it so you have to grind the event more and more causing player burnout.
💠 Add more champion mods to disrupt them if you insist on keeping the champions then we need to not be as restrictive with seasonal mods.
💠 The last few seasons have felt way to similar. We need more variety and that goes with the shakeup with how activities are implemented and the vendors. Just feels like we have done the same seasonal stuff for awhile now
Lost Sectors
💠 Lost sector grinding for exotics is really boring and not engaging.
💠 While each day says a specific armor piece we should be able to target maybe 2-3 pieces instead of the whole list
💠 Perhaps a chest like a raid at the end to pick between 2-3 random pieces of armor from that run
💠 Perhaps instead of dropping an exotic gear, drop the engram and we can decrypt from a vendor for a piece of gear we want. It will be tied to the lost sector item of the day etc (chest, arms, legs, helmet)
💠 As it stands you can run multiple at a time and not even get anything or sometimes just glimmer. Which is demoralizing. I get the grind and rng but this isn’t a good system to try and farm specific armor especially when more and more armor is added to the loot pool
Have a great week guardians! Let me know what you all think of my ideas :)

1 ReplyGood ideas, hope your post gets noticed

Some good ideas here. Might I suggest about Lost Sectors and exotics in general. 1. Let new exotics drop out in the wild. For anyone who’s played the game a decent amount of time there’s just no excitement when a exotic drops mostly because we know we’ve already got them. 2. Let us target farm exotics by making us wear that exotic.

3 RepliesEdited by TheShadow: 11/8/2022 2:08:33 PM
Destiny 2, what happened?
A business took over a company and the player base is paying for it in more ways than they should have. I've watched this business over the last 3 years go further and further away from what they used to be about, and streamers are not helping the game one bit. A lot of your suggestions can improve the experience playing the game but who is really listening other than a few of the people on this forum? I mean this business pretends they do, and some of the fans will defend that they do but listening isn't the problem, anyone can do that letting it in one ear and go out the other. The actual problem is they don't want to actually hear what's being said. People will say something along the lines of, "well, they wouldn't have added SBMM, etc... if they weren't listening". That's a lie, a business is a business first and foremost, and when you people actually wake up to that reality you will see what is actually taking place. Bungie only makes adjustments when it's a benefit to them and these last 3 years it's been a struggle for the community, I mean a major struggle to get them to improve anything in this game that improves the experience playing the game. Oh, since the new expansion is coming around, is this where they show their face as they do every year and then split for a year until they have to sell the next expansion? It's comical how this business shows they "care" when they have something to sell, it's like clockwork with this business.

2 RepliesWhat happened 😕? raging fourms, Twitter and Reddit post is what happened and after what happened recently with the dev playing trials is the main reason why devs stop talking to us and answering feedback You point out a lot of good problems I love destiny community but over the years it's been getting worst and spoiled

1 ReplyHmm. I think. I'm just gonna stop reading forum, since Bungie don't care and all those opinions and proposals don't mean a thing and put no effect on Bungie. Meaning they continue to make fan service game from Destiny, 8 missions for 30 minutes spreading it on two months, 1-2 new PvP maps, 1-2 new strikes, 2 new raids and 2 new dungeons which will be ignored in two seasons at best, reskinned guns, no reason to get a new armor, all that so called content is a joke. If you don't agree with me, you out of common sense and your opinion worth nothing.

1 ReplyYou have some very fair and well thought out points. I also highly agree on the seasonal power level grind and the strikes playlist. As these need to be addressed heavily. Not to mention, this game has become more of a chore than a game that is played for fun/enjoyment. Yes the company needs to keep players busy to keep the lights on. But there are much better ways to keep players engaged with the game. Such as the points/claims you listed above.

1 ReplyGreat work and thank you for the effort you put in. Well written too.

1 ReplyI only grind to the Hero Lvl of Nightfall and maybe Legendary Solo Lost Sectors (if I want the Exotic) . Besides that, I see no benefit to wasting more time for really nothing. Festival of The Lost pretty much out the nail in it for me in terms of really Going after loot I want... Why? Because it has Masks Ornaments... And two guns.. for IN GAME REWARDS. Everything else I WISH I COULD PLAY THE EVENT AND AQUIRE... Was in Eververse. It's pretty disappointing that you see a cool Armor set or Weapon Ornament that comes out ONCE A YEAR and you have to Pay Money for it. Yes, if you have 6K Dust you also could get some Items to. The main point is they should make Event Items also Acquirable thru playing the actual event. Besides that, I agree that A Normal player who doesn't really care for Grand Masters or has no time to find a group or grind to be able to Solo. Has no benefit to putting in YouTuber time, only to have the Gear become useless the next season. Artifact should have some Mods be Permanently unlocked as well. Maybe make a choice to the player that 2 or 3 out of the 5 max tier Mods you can choose to keep. At least that gives some benefiting to the Player... But Bungie hates that.

2 RepliesLight level is still a joke. The scaling doesn't make sense. The creators intended this game to be ability driven more than gunplay. Supers in 4 to 5 minutes. No strike specific loot still. The seasonal pass model has failed. Miserably. The stories the last two seasons were embarrassing. Same bs. Do seasonal activity. Go to the helm. Rinse and repeat. Please blow up the helm. Bring back the tower. The death star was built faster than repairing the tower. Stop nerfing stuff. Nothing has been broken with these exotic armor pieces.

4 RepliesLost me at your really bad take on Gambit. Idk why some people have such a hatred for it. I like it and think if it was actually given some attention (just like Crucible needs) it would be a way better mode. Gambit Prime was the best version of it and I wish it would come back.

1 ReplyLots of good stuff here. My 2 cents = Light Level - I think they should just have a light level grind for expansions & not the remaining seasons. The GMNFs & Master tier content is set to the recommended power from the expansion & the recommended power level doesn’t change with the seasons. As soon as you meet the recommended power - you can play the activity. Meaning - There’s still a leveling process at the beginning of the year, but none after. If you’ve met the recommended power the season that follows an expansion - then you can play Master raids & GMNFs on the first day of a new season. Strikes/PvP/Gambit - Just add new content. All the other suggestion would be a sweet cherry on top, but the main issue with the core-playlist activities is they never get new strikes &/or maps & bosses. Champions - I like Champions in PvE because they add a mini boss that the whole team needs to focus on. But, I hate that Bungie uses Champions way too much to add difficulty because their regular ads & majors are too weak & dumb to effectively engage the player. Raids - I think weapon crafting is bad for Destiny, but definitely bad for endgame. I don’t think raid weapons should be craft-able. I prefer an exotic quest for raid exotics - much like how they did Divinity. The seasonal model - is horrible. I wish Bungie would consolidate the 4 seasons they release with an expansion & just make 2 expansions per year. But if we were to improve it - I’d say add 1) they need to add a strike, a PvP map, & a gambit map / boss each season to add “new” when you have to grind the core-playlist for the seasonal requirements. 2) Have the campaign fully playable on day1 with a legendary variant. 3) Seasonal activities should be like Prison of Elders in House of Wolves. There was an arena activity & the whole open world had public events that connected to the activity.

Bungie: we no care You list are good idea
-
2 RepliesI would add bring back more non-hamster wheel pinnacle reward content, This season we were reduced to only Preservation. This limits the vast majority to gain max power levels and reduces the motivation to care.
-
2 RepliesBut if they do any of those things, how will they time gate all of their pitiful, tiny content drops? No, but seriously, some good, common sense points. I don't think any of it will fix what's wrong at the core of this game, however.
-
1 ReplyWell said! I agree with all the points you’ve made. I’ve tirelessly attempted to give my voice about many of the same.
-
1 ReplyI agree with the sentiment but not everything you’re saying. Light level is not a big deal. Bungie should add bad luck protection so you’re always guaranteed to increase your light a little with each drop. Most people that play the game with any sort of frequency will be ready for GMs when they come out. Strikes do need to be revamped in some capacity. Strike specific loot is good in theory but not in practice. In D1 it led to a large portion of the community quitting strikes when it didn’t come up with the one they wanted. This made everything 10x slower. The Strike playlist loot (ex Strident Whistle) is an attempt to keep that from happening again. I like your idea of more enemy density and a revamped heroic strike playlist could afford that. New crazy modifiers should be a thing. 1 good, 1 bad, all completely random. The Vanguard origin trait needs to help too. Gambit is its own monster. Heavy ammo crates occur too frequently and allow for too much spam. The immune phases aren’t necessarily an issue, but one idea I had was just get rid of them and significantly increase the need for Primeval slayer stacks. As for loot, there are plenty of good weapons in the gambit loot pool, I don’t really know what you’re looking for here… GMs: I 100% agree on the contest mode. While I maintain that it’s not hard to hit the required light, I think lowering it to just the pinnacle cap and adding contest mode would be good. (Ex. Hit 1580 this season from all sources to be ready for GMs). Champions need to be reworked but are good in concept. We need more options each season, but Bungie’s idea of a rotating meta for PvE activities is a good idea. Otherwise everyone would just use the same 3 mods and weapon types every time. Raids: Red boarders are fine where they’re at. Crafted weapons should be for bad luck protection, not the end goal. Enhanced perks was a massive mistake from Bungie. More encounter variety is a great idea. Bungie’-blam!- it out of the park with their original content from the past year. Grasp of Avarice, Vow, Duality, and even the revamped parts of King’s Fall have been unique. Better bad luck protection (raid exotic should be guaranteed after 25 completions), more XP, and The rotator pinnacle ideas are all great. Seasonal Events: they need an overhaul. This most recent one was a drag. The loot was plentiful but it was so boring and tedious. The Solstice event was marginally better. This season’s would have been ok if there was something besides haunted sectors… It’s never going to be like it is in full MMO’s. People are expecting too much that no game like this has ever been able to come close. People need to realize this. Seasonal Model: it’s good but is getting old. Bungie needs to experiment more now. Lost Sectors: Solo Master runs need smaller pools. Have each slot have pools of 2-3 exotics they can drop once you’ve gotten all of them. Rotate them each time the set comes up and re-randomize the pools each season. This would help us target farm specific armors. Overall well put, but some of these things need to remain in the game and aren’t inherently bad (ex champions). I also think that too many people are looking up to streamers that no-life the game and have absolutely everything. People (not necessarily you OP) get caught up in it, so they stop enjoying just playing…
