Can we talk about heavy weapons in Gambit? Especially Xenophage?
So I was playing Gambit (yeah, there is a small cult following of that game mode believe it or not), and was doing fairly well using a primary only invasion. Except it seems anyone in a player versus player scenario will often resort to using a Xenophage that is often surgically attached to their arm. This type of matchup happens quite often, in spite of being shown number eight in meta statistics as far as gambit heavies go. I propose a few things:
1:reduce heavy ammo pickup rates for this weapon specifically.
2: reduce heavy pickup, if not remove it entirely from the mode, given linears are a thing.
3: reduce the aim assist cone for this weapon, given it’s basically used as a cheap sniper.
4: Two, if not all the above options.

2 RepliesNo. If you want a PVP experience that is balanced in a way that centers around 1v1 primary weapon duels, then Lord Shaxx and Lord Saladin will be happy to help you out in the Crucible. Gambit, is based on the open-world PvP that you get in MMOs and other RPGs. It is supposed to be fast, nasty, and UNBALANCED. In fact the game is tuned in a way such that YOU as the invader have a significant advantage in any 1v1 engagement because you have WALL HACKS, you don't show up on their radar, and you have a freakin' OVERSHIELD. The game is already tuned so that you have a fighting chance in a 1v4.... ...and NOW you want the game made even easier by removing one of the few viable counters that those being invaded have to the MULTIPLE advantages the game is already giving you? Please.....

Its just a bandaid on a hemmorage as they ca t remove it because that will put even less in the game even though no one pkays it and there are NO LONGER REASONS to play it. They took away the pinnacles, they killed the reason for the game mode.

Bro if someone kills me with a heavy in gambit i just hope there happy. I believe a lot of people including me play gambit for a specific reason, be it the seasonal quest, farm for a gun etc. we’d just want the game end fast so can move on. Invading keeps dragging the game due to the boss regen mechanism. May be those just enjoy gambit and killing with heavy lol idk

I’ve played gambit for a very long time, and I think Xenophage and heavy ammo are both fine as is.
