Make Sunshot's catalyst give it incandescent. Any legendary weapon with incandescent(especially paired with explosive rounds) just feels better than Sunshot. If there is any weapon in the game that deserves incandescent, its Sunshot.

Sun shots explosions are better than incandescent imo, what it needs is for those explosions to apply scorch stacks

3 RepliesEdited by HiddenAlignment: 11/5/2022 5:40:32 PMI feel like the exotic as a whole could use a bit of a tune up. Have its intrinsic mark scorched targets, not just targets hit by Sunshot. Replace Sun Blast with Incandescence since it’s literally the same, but better. Have the catalyst either increase Incandescence’s explosion and damage, or have the weapon apply Scorch. Hopefully we’ll see something like this in S19
-
Or just make the explosions count as ignitions so it works better with fragments
-
I at least thought that that with sol invicus with sun shot would make sunspots but it don’t waaaaahhhttt

5 RepliesTiccu's doesn't have it either, but Skyburners and Jotuun does for whatever reason, yet a weapon that does burn damage on hits and detonation on kills (regardless of if crit or not) doesn't, same with Ticcu's which operates the exact same way as Sunshot Things like Firefly/Dragonfly should scorch targets when another near em gets headshotted, bungie could've made anything that does "burn (scorch) on hits or headshots" and "explosions from headshots burn nearby targets, eg: Dragonfly/Firefly" work with our subclasses but did not, with solar 3.0 they just only bothered to give Jotuun an Incandescent catalyst and made skyburners oath do it on hipfire. Yet ANY arc weapons in arc 3.0 synergizes with our subclass by making us amplified, special ammo weapons blind targets (including trinity ghoul for some weird reason even tho it's primary ammo?) As for void stuff... Well... is there anything except Collective Obligation and (maybe) Graviton Lance that synergizes with it? (Rat King for Hauberk invis hunters too)

Edited by neonsox42: 11/6/2022 5:25:25 AMIt’s literally not going to do anything. Any enemies that incandescent would actually help you with were going to die anyways. The only synergy you’d get is being able to get a sunspot or two… Incandescent is a nerf. Even if you add scorch to the sunshot explosions, would it ever matter? All the adds that scorch would actually damage are going to die instantly anyways. Making it cause ignitions wouldn’t work either unless Bungie nukes ignition damage. In PvE it’s around 3x the damage as a firefly detonation. Giving that on every kill of an infinite ammo weapon is just dumb. Not everything needs to work with subclass keywords. I’d rather them give Sunshot something like: Rapidly defeating multiple combatants grants radiant for 6-8s (and/or cure you). They should also buff the highlight duration so it’s actually useful.

4 RepliesI propose a exotic armor piece that gives your solar weapons incandescent.
-
2 RepliesEdited by Doctor_Roidberg: 11/5/2022 10:10:44 PMBro what Sunshot’s detonation is all the instant damage of Dragonfly without needing a headshot. It’s literally Incandescent without having to wait for the damage ticks, just boom instant damage. You clearly haven’t used Sunshot much if that’s what you took away. And if the Sunshot on your Titan at 1350 with 111 kills is any indication.
-
Naw man, you can craft bane. It almost like sunshot weapon….
-
I respectfully disagree, maybe give it capabilities of solar 3.0. But incandescent is overkill with explosive ammo, and the detonate on kill.
-
No Just make to perk intrinsically spread scorch or maybe getting solar ability kills empowers Sunshot or… idk.
-
Would be kind of pointless. Most things die too fast for it to have any value, and you’d be switching weapons for tougher monsters. If a boss had an add, sure. I just don’t see it having a really big impact. Now allow me to counter-propose that Xenophage’s catalyst should allow each shot to lightly scorch.

1 ReplyAll solar exotic weapons should have incandescent. As for Hardlight, precision kills should grant debuffs, depending on the element type. Precision kills with arc cause nearby enemies to become blinded, precision kills with void cause nearby enemies to be suppressed, and precision kills with solar spread scorch to nearby enemies.

7 RepliesI think you and a couple others mistake Incandescent for Scorch. When you say give it Incandescent, do you mean let it scorch ads in the explosion?
-
6 RepliesIt chains explosions so it basically skips Scorch and goes straight to ignition. How does replacing this with Incandescent make the gun better?
-
3 RepliesIt has built in Incandescent
-
3 RepliesYou'd have to be careful as that could be a nerf. Enemies killed by incandescent probably wouldn't proc the chain explosion kills
-
1 ReplyIn reality it has it Just get headshots There u go
-
1 ReplyIgnitions on precision hits.
-
It's literally just Incandescent but better
-
God no
-
It would need to give something up for that to happen, and no, giving up its ability to highlight targets is barely a fair trade off.
-
-
12 RepliesNo. Sunshot is 100x better than incandescent.
-
Just have every shot apply a little bit of scorch. Like 10 stacks or something
-
Makes sense
