Most of old exotics are underrated or irrelevant due power creep or just more interesteting new ones.
I ll write down a list of exotics that need somewhat a tune to get to the level where they can be at least competitive against others.
Sweet Business: i think not a few pople when they first discover this autorifle loved this RATATATA like heavy in Team Fortress 2 or Terminator bringign down a lots of trash mobs.
This autorifle need only one buff - vorpal weapon or maybe frenzy. Back in a time when there was white ammo bricks there was a point of having full mag after taking a brick and after the patch that removed white ammo - sweet business perk is really bad of how inconsistent heavy or speacial ammo bricks drop.
Cerberus +1: its really a good autorifle with a tremendous high dps as a primary weapon in close combat. Even in PVP this weapon can shine but its catalyst is useless and i think it was added just for to be added. This autorifle cataslyst need a rework - instead need to get face to face to deal at least some damage - when catalyst is active give it more effective range (tighten the spread) rpm the same. Adding unstoppable perk is welcome too.
Malfeasance: great PVE weapon (was good for Loreley titans in PVP before nerf) need a catalyst but i dunno what to add (maybe some range?). It became even stronger after 180 RPM Handcannons buff but i cant see this weapon somewhere else besides lucky pants hunter build.
Outbreak perfected: its lacking before other options of primary damage killing bosses (like new KF raid exotic). OP need just a 15-20% increased stack growing. Its perfomance in PVP or AD clearing is nice.
Monte carlo: after introducting pugilist this gun have almost nothing... The only it has is a chance to get melee a bit faster (instant cooldown) maybe givin this weapon perk Markov Chain dmg boost cap at 66% like The Huckleberry saved his old Rampage dmg boost. Cuz now Markov chain is just a dust in the eyes (its normal swashbuckler dudes....)
Coldheart: Need a (khm rework) damage boost for mini bosses and bosses. This weapon designed for damage to fat targets and performs this task with big difficulties. Ionic traces is good but for what reason Bungie gave it damage increase for just shooting the target? Trace rifles in PVE dissapointing right now maybe need a full rework for them...
Merciless: this weapon is average for a fusion rifle and very bad for an exotic. As a tune it may be presented with a perk like tripletap or four times the charm - to refill ammo from air and about 10% dmg buff to mini bosses and bosses.
Sunshot: great weapon for PVE but for now its outclassed with trinity ghoul. A little tune: make it synergize with solar 3.0
Graviton Lance: tune its ease of use (Im feeling dizzy when using it. After 30mins of use im feeling im gonna puke) increase its stability or my sweaty dream give it unstable rounds
Borealis: great weapon but outlassed by dead messenger. Give it tripletap or four times the charm so its intrinsic perk will shine (its really great)
Polaris Lance: another great weapon for those who need range and sunshot solar blows. Add as an intrinsic perk - meganeura from pinnacle scout rifle Oxygen SR3. This is an awesome perk that was forgotten and will be great to synergize with Polaris lance entity to land those infinite precision shots.
Synergize its 5th shot with solar 3.0 will also be great.
Tommy's Matchbook: hard to use autorifle and for obvious reasons been forgot for most of people. Its damage is really good when spinned up but a ton of exotics can make this weapon work much less pain in the a**. We got with Solar 3.0 buff Restoration and as a tune this weapon from 2-3 final blows can proc restoration x1.
DARCI: this weapon most used for test for damage faloff in crucible and thats it? Give this little baby tripletap!
Two tailed fox: i dunno what to do with this weapon... Maybe some synergize with 3.0 subclasses...
Queenbreaker: back in a day this was first option for Gambit invaders for its stickieness to players heads. After a nerf it was killed. Tune may be return at least 20-30% of its aim assist back.
I do not forget that exotic weapons is a unique representatives of their kind but we need all of them not just Osteo Striga or Trinity Ghoul or Gjallarhorn all day along. These weapons are dying at the bottom of the collection and they are waiting for our attention waiting for us to KICK SOME ASSES wielding them.
Write down below your suggestions or thoughts on those weapons ro maybe give your opinions for guns i didnt mentioned (I omitted the PVP weapons cuz they designed for it and they perform good in their environment. Most of underrated exotic PVP guns just need aimassist or ease of use and its boring to write about it)

Mida would be nice if it had more range

Edited by Pk: 11/7/2022 1:02:40 PMYeah i know 26 exotics gonna recieve some reworks\buffs\nerfes (there wasnt mentioned it will be only old exotic weapons). But there was no one by one info about changes so this post made to help Devs decide. Feedback of which changes people wanna see on these exotics is good
-
Also armor pieces!!
-
Merciless needs the HUGE damage penalty removed. Per a shot it deals a good amount of damage but the penalty at max speed basically just turns it into a rapid dealing about the same damage due to having less bolts.

1 ReplyI would like to see Graviton Lance get full auto. You can now add mods to legendary PR to get this feature. GL just feels slow to fire in comparison. Also the Cosmology effect for GL seems slow to activate. If you try and get kills with those explosions, you can likely kill red-bars with normal shots, before the explosions happen. I would also like to see older exotics have either more built in champ mods, and or work with the new 3.0 system. Help recharge abilities, supers, or give things like scorch or other effects, based on subclass.

Do you not read twabs?

1 ReplyPolaris Lance, Sunshot could use some slight Solar interactions, like scorch on explosion kills. Graviton Lance doesn’t need PvE buff. It needs a PvP buff. Malfeasance just needs a catalyst like mentioned in the data base. Tommy’s is actually very strong in anything other then GM’s content. It’s the only weapon capable of dealing over 200% damage with mods and perks. Outbreak is insane still. THIS DOESNT NEED A BUFF. Everything else, 100% agree. Especially with Queenbreaker, TTF and specifically Borealis.

1 ReplyYou do realise we are getting 26 old exotics buffed next season right?

Must have missed the mention in a previous week's TWAB
We said we're touching 20 Exotics (both buffs and nerfs), but the extent of that varies quite a bit. From a substantial rework (e.g., Lord of Wolves) to a small but impactful change (e.g., Legend of Acrius), there’s a lot to cover, both big and small. Also, a small update on that number. 20 is out of date, and it's now 26. We always keep the list of under and overused Exotics in mind and decided to take on a big chunk of them in Season 19.
Edited by SolarCerberuS: 11/3/2022 9:20:15 PMI think they are for season 19, pretty sure they said around 26 exotics are being reworked
-
We need a major Exotic Armour 3.0 Yea but to me the exotic weapons not in that much of a bad state compared to exotic armor they way out of date back to D2 vanilla making our options way more limited then the weapons now soo many abilities overhauls
-
They are changing like 20somthing of the old exotic next season.. some buffs, some nerfs, some changes.
-
Next season apparently has a massive pile of exotic buffs/changes. We’ll just have to see.
-
Brooooooo I thought the Graviton Lance was a Me issue! I feel so dizzy using it that's so true.

Coldheart really only needs its VFX tuned down a good bit. The gun makes it impossible to see what you’re shooting, and on a gun that really needs sustained crits, it makes it impossible to use. Just look at wavesplitter and how good that weapon feels to shoot. If that’s what Coldheart felt like it’d be a lot better. I also think that the ionic Trace perk could use a buff. Something like: “kills at high energy have an escalating chance to spawn ionic traces” in addition to what it currently has. As for merciless, all non-rapid Fire fusions need a reserve ammo buff. Adding field prep to the catalyst might be a good way of helping if they want to keep it more specific. And a damage buff couldn’t hurt. Hardlight needs a buff too. Adding something like genesis and/or shield disorient would be amazing.

1 ReplyIt would be sick if the catalyst for borealis would give volt shot, incandescent, and new perk similar to those for void.

Bring back No Land Beyond!
-
I just want to see the resonance in this topic so that the Devs of my favorite game will see it. It will help them to make their own decisions of how to ajust less used exotics.

With Arc 3.0, Insurmountable Skullfort needs a rework. Healing on shoulder charge is already done with a fragment, and with elemental well mods you can get back your melee almost instantly. Which makes the helmet basically useless. Add a damage buff to it that allows ohk in crucible for all subclasses, 200% damage increase in PVE (still lower than greaves, synthos, and workGod). Kind of like Peregrine Greaves but can't one shot supers, but does offer healing and recharge.
