Dawn Chorus Still Fails to Drop
Hello - I've been feverishly checking updates every time a new one comes out for Dawn Chorus fixes. Turns out in the recent update, it's back in the Collections. Sadly, this doesn't however fix the issue that it won't drop. Any claims to RNG are either referencing an old Bungie post from before the Collections bug (and we won't know how those two interact), or folks are quoting others saying the same with no proof to back it up/already owned it prior to the bug. Comparing my notes with others who don't have the Exotic before the bug, there's been nothing but negative reports on getting it after much testing.
Airing on the side of caution, I ran Lost Sectors for more than 4 hours today, and here's what I gained (updating regularly):
- 3 Verity's Brows
- 4 Crowns of Tempests
- 1 Nezarec's Sin
- 1 Eye of Another World
- 1 Fallen Sunstar
- 5 Felwinter's Helms
- 3 Skulls of Dire Ahamkara
- 1 The Stag
- 1 Astrocyte Verse
So as you can see, I've done my homework here. Just to double-confirm for the sake of argument on the old Bungie post that gets referenced a lot and how it compares to my experiences with the game, I was on a long hiatus prior to Beyond Light. I came back in Witch Queen, so I had a lot of Exotics to get. Every time one would drop, it was a new one. Never an old one. When I got all the new ones, they'd drop duplicates or older ones.
It's been consistent on all characters and armor parts. Dawn Chorus breaks that logic, so it's not RNG. It's broken. Just because it shows up in the collections now, does not mean it drops for people who didn't have it prior to the bug.

I can confirm that it's dropping. I just got it for the first time. It wasn't unlocked in my collections either. I was finally surprised to see it drop

4 RepliesWHELP! Just ran today for helmets to check and wouldn’t you know it - first drop was Dawn Chorus. Gang, the helmet is finally fixed. It truly is a Christmas miracle. Happy holidays, everyone!

Yup, can confirm it STILL isn't fixed yet, same situation as you lot, been trying to get it for months now, no idea what we did wrong to deserve this, only Warlock exotic I have yet to get. Plenty of dupes though :')

Edited by Afterburne: 11/20/2022 10:33:32 PMI have never had "Dawn Chorus". Early this season I got the "Fallen Sunstar" but since then all helmet drops have been duplicates. Something is obviously still bugged with "Dawn Chorus". If it was not bugged it wouldn't have disappeared from collections at the beginning of the season in the 1st place. When it did reappear recently, it was grayed out as something I didn't have yet - which is true. I don't have it and I never got it. The same is the case for "Mantle of Battle Harmony", "Secant Filaments", and a couple of others. However, they have always shown in collections even though they were grayed out as they should have been. Recently, "Dawn Chorus" finally showed up in collections grayed out indicating that I didn't have it yet - which I indicated above is true in my case. So "Yay, I will go farm now." Boo, "all I get are duplicate drops of helmets that I already own." Getting "Dawn Chorus" for the 1st time is still very bugged.

Still not dropping, are they not aware of this issue or just not care? I guess making bullshit Telesto "events" is more important than an actual exotic being bugged.

Thank god im not alone on this. I was so excited to try Dawn Chorus (since i never bothered to do the lost sectors cause theyre next to useless, topic for another day hopefully) but come to find out its STILL unobtainable for people that have never collected it

This is getting annoying by this point . All I've seen addressed about this issue is they fixed it to where it was added back to Collections . Sorry to say , if u don't have the Dawn Chorus , that fix doesn't help anything .

Same issue been farming for it still not dropping...have all Dlc all other exotics unlock except Dawn chorus

Oh my god I thought I was going crazy that no one else was having this issue. I've been running the lost sector for helmets every time but keep getting dupes. Dawn Chorus is the only helm I don't have too and it AIN'T DROPPIN. Glad I'm not alone, let's hope it gets fixed soon!

A week later and I can confirm. Been running master lost sectors since reset and only been getting dupes, Dawn Chorus is the only exotic helm I am missing. I don't know why Bungie cannot fix this bug, it's frustrating.

I'll add my own experience. I farmed and had around 17ish exotic helms drop since yesterdays helm lost sector start and none of them are Dawn Chorus. I also Farmed around 15 helms a few weeks ago when Dawn Chorus was still not in collections. I own all DLC and have never unlocked Dawn Chorus before ( I have unlocked all other Warlock Exotic helms). I'm on the side that it is bugged. Bungie could also confirm that it is possible to drop, but that usually doesn't happen.

Same experience here. I haven't previously received Dawn Chorus. Shows in Collections as unobtained, as per the recent patch notes (previously didn't show at all). Ran the Lost Sector several times and got 3 duplicates of previously obtained helms. Zero Dawn Chorus drops. And before anyone asks, yes I own all the DLC.

I've had a similar experience as well. I have every helmet on Warlock except for Dawn Chorus. Once the patch was deployed that restored it to the Collections tab, I farmed for a few hours and received 5 duplicate exotic helmets that I already own. - I own all expansions - I have been playing witch queen since late August. Based on what other people have posted, it seems if you did not receive this helmet before the Collections bug was introduced, it will never drop for you.

I really hope budgie notices this in time for next hotfix. Its not in the known issues at the moment. This will be the third time they've tried to fix dawn chorus lol RIP warlocks

You’re correct, I also was receiving duplicates with no sign of Dawn Chorus. Seems to me that if it’s not outright disabled intentionally, something’s seriously broken with this helm.
