Marmot error after verifying the files

Hey there Guardians, I hope you all are having a good day! I just wanted to ask for some help here, today I started doing the event missions, and when I was inside one of these missions, my game crashed and I got the error code: marmot. I've been looking for some fixes without any luck whatsoever so I just decide to ask the community: - I keep getting this: "Problem reading game content. File verification may be required. blah blah blah error code: marmot" - I have already verified the steam game files twice and the game starts, then it begins to verify files in-game, just to crash again and give me the same error. - Reinstalled the game, didn't work - Reinstalled battleeye - Deleted everything except the packages folder and verified - Change the language in steam and then change it back What can I do? I really love the game and I just bought the forsaken pack but now I can't play the game Any help will be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance!

  • The work around I found that works for me when I have this issue is to delete the locals files except the packages folder then have steam verify the integrity of the game files. After Steam downloads what it needs too open your Command Prompt as an Administrator and type in "chkdsk" then hit enter. Sometimes you might get the "scanning in read-only mode" message, just do the same thing again but add a / (whatever letter drive it says in the cmd) example: chkdsk /F afterwards answer yes to the cmd prompt then restart your computer, let it do its thing. Then try launching the game and see what it says. I normally am able to a few days sometimes a few weeks without the Marmot issue coming back up Hope this helps

I had the same problem as you except I would get Marmots randomly whenever I play. I too looked everywhere for answers, but couldn't find much. I did see a comment on here awhile back that said that they changed the language of the game through Steam/Epic then changed it back and they haven't had any Marmots since. I tried it and I got the same results for about 3 days before I started getting them again. Your experience might be different so maybe try that. Hope this helps.

  • Bungie currently has no fix for marmot despite they've been addressing it for 2 months now. Some solutions may be temp fixes but nothing permanent has worked so far.
