K/D on Destiny 2 Compared to Crucible Stats Website

Can someone explain why the k/d are different between the two. On Destiny 2 I see a 1.8 or 1.9 k/d but after talking to some players they told me that my k/d is actually 1.05. For the longest time I really thought it was a 1.9. Cause before the sbmm came in I was around 1.5 or 1.6. Than this season I went up to what I have now. I'm just curious to the different numbers between the 2.

  • Destiny doesn't track K/D in-game due to trying to make bad players feel better. That's why we have KDA in-game. Actual KD has to be tracked by third party websites. *Please note I'm not calling anyone specific a bad player. That's just literally the reason they added assists to the total to make people feel better*

  • Destiny itself doesn’t track “KD”. Only KA/D. That’s kills plus assists divided by deaths.

    • Here you go. This has all your stats for game different game modes, kills with different weapons and abilities, accuracy and medals earned. This is a better source. In game values are all based of KDA not KD. https://crucible.report/report/1/4611686018436205310

I don’t get the ppl who think KD makes you good. I think KD makes sense depending on your kills. Some dude tried to talk trash by saying “I have a 4.2KD, you’re a 1.60 overall” and continued with that statement alone bc… I literally destroyed him. The thing is, he had a career of 15,000 kills. His seasonal was like 2k I was sitting at a seasonal 35k that season (I’m a career of 250k) with half his seasonal KD bc I’m a solo player- even then, I don’t care about my KD or about winning, as long as I do well… The thing is, if you have a lot of kills with a high KD as a solo player, then it’s valid. If not, it doesn’t mean Jack

      • KDA is kills/deaths/ assists. KD is kills/death average. Assists count as kills in KDA. Don’t worry about it. Just have fun. There’s one player in this forum that flashes it like it meant something telling people how much he enjoys ruining other people’s days yet when a truly good player called them out to 1 v 1 they back pedaled and made every excuse why they couldn’t 1 v 1. It was kind of sad and pathetic. The bottom line is it’s a non competitive PvP mode that No one in the competitive PvP world would even waste their time playing. Being good at this games PvP means nothing. You cannot make a esports career out of it.

      • Could be a seasonal stat i the game and an overall on the site. The higher stat you see could actually be KA/D not just KD Either way its not a big issue, stats are merely for the ego, as long as you're having fun thats all that should matter 👍

      • My K/D this season is pretty Meh , I'm barely touching 1.0 9/10 I'm around 1.0 an then some , least the KDA is at 1.0 I feel less trash . Still folks get waaaaaay to hung up on KD.

      • It also depends on how you play. Are you a support player, or a lone wolf. In that case you'll have much higher kda than kd, but still be decent at pvp, cause you're a team player. Some people play exclusively to pump kd, not caring about objectives or wins. Sometimes you need to get in there and buy a few seconds so your team can win, even though it means you'll die and lower your kd.

          • You’re not a 1.9 kd player 🤣 1.9 kda which means you get tons of assist

Kda = kills, death assists (Emblem and start of the game shows this stat) K/d = kills and death (D2 does not show this stat. Have to use tracker) But everyone in every game think kd means something when it doesn’t. This stat can be so easily manipulated it’s not even funny. So don’t put stress on yourself. Just enjoy the game 😁

              • Destiny 2/Bungie tracks KD/A(A= Assist) which KD/A is the inflated Stat. K/D, Bungie doesn't Track. 3rd party apps do. So that 1.8-1.9 sounds like your KD/A, where the 1.5 is your K/D.

              • Difference is "in game is kd/a which tracks seasonally. Websites are kd based". Kd/a tracks kills, deaths and assists. While kd only tracks kills and deaths. One determines how you are in teams play which is usually 6s modes. The other determines if you can win your 1s more often that not. This is why when trials is around you'll see people post 1.2kd+ this isn't referring to any in game stats you can see but its actually referring to stats you can see on trials report.

              • K/d = kills divided by deaths Kda (“efficiency “) = kills + assists divided by deaths

              • the stat tracker in game is Kills Assists / Deaths, stat websites used Kills/Deaths mainly. the in game one show KDA to make people feel better.
