More Ways to Get Legendary Shards and more shards given

given that Bungie has experienced inflation in the game by raising the damn price of all materials now it cost more shards to do material exchanges by they did not mention any ways to buy shards, trade for shards, or give us more shards for dismantling legendary weapons. Also im not feeling glimmer change next season i dont want to be forced to go do a public even for glimmer. I just want to go and buy it just like i have been doing another grind i dont wanna do next season for basic glimmer currency.

I agree with the point about the legendary shards. Last year, I started a New Light account that I play rather infrequently. I've been slowly but surely acquiring exotic weapons and armor from Xur and the Monument to Lost Lights. On my main account, legendary shards aren't an issue as I have a lot stockpiled from my years of playing and already have all of the exotics Xur sells. However, my stockpile of legendary shards on my New Light account isn't nearly as vast. Same thing with glimmer too. Admittedly, I don't play on this second account very much, so this is to be expected. However, I've noticed that acquiring all of the old exotics from Xur has become quite a daunting task for new players. It costs 97 legendary shards for an exotic engram, 29 legendary shards for an exotic weapon, and 23 shards for an exotic armor. It also costs 200 legendary shards and 1 ascendant shard each for Hawkmoon and Dead Man's Tale. Riskrunner can be acquired from the New Light quest. Sweet Business can be acquired from a quest for those who own Witch Queen. Thunderlord, Liar's Handshake, An Insurmountable Skullfort, and Getaway Artist can be acquired from the Gift of the Thunder Gods during this season. For a free to play New Light next season, only Riskrunner will be available outside of Xur. Next season, each enhancement prism will cost 10 legendary shards and each ascendant shard will cost 10 enhancement prisms plus another 50 legendary shards. If you're only getting enhancement prisms and ascendant shards from Rahool, 1 ascendant shard will cost you 150 legendary shards. Since DMT and Hawkmoon cost of 200 legendary shards each on top of that, it will cost you 350 legendary shards for just one of them and 700 for both. To get all of Xur's exotic weapons next season (excluding Riskrunner bc New Light), you'll need 899 legendary shards. For his exotic armor, you'll need 621 legendary shards for 1 class and 1,863 for all three. Now, none of these numbers are taking into account exotic engrams dropping in activities, exotic engrams from the season pass, exotics being rewarded at the end of activities, or buying exotic engrams from Xur through either legendary shards or exotic ciphers. Still, exotics don't drop super often in open world and new players aren't going to have high enough light levels to immediately jump into the activities that commonly reward exotics. Regardless this number is going to be on the high end and I don't expect anyone to realistically need to directly purchase every exotic from Xur. I don't expect players to have to get all of their ascendant shards and enhancement prisms from Rahool either. However, the cost to do so next season would be 3,462 legendary shards. A more realistic estimate for how much it would actually cost a player might be somewhere between 2,000 to 3,000. Regardless, that's a lot of legendary shards. And this isn't even taking into account that the Monument to Lost Lights is also going to be costing legendary shards next season. Nor is it accounting for all of the other things that cost legendary shards such as buying legendary gear from vendors, focusing engrams, and masterworking gear. New Lights are going to be so broke next season its not even funny

    • I don't see the difficulty - if you do a lot of end game content, there's a plethora of legendaries with garbage rolls that can easily be dismantled for shards. I've acquired about 3,000 this season alone after blowing thousands in previous season with upgrade modules, and masterworking armor pieces.

      • If they got rid of any materials in this gsme it should have been shards. They are the most unbalance currency of any we have. You either have very little or stacks of thousandss. It is time to just wipe all of them out of everyones inventory and get rid of them. They are the bane of destiny.
