As I have stated, repeatedly, this was never about the damned weapon. Nerf it. Don't nerf it. I don't care and if you cut the bullsh!t to get to the deeper level of what's going on you realize very quickly that the fundamental problem is that Bungie thinks that "Casual" and "Hard Core" players are things that exist. They. Aren't. The real problem, and the reason people got pissed off over divinity, not the act of the nerf, but the spirit behind the nerf, is because there's nothing for the majority of players to do, Bungie is only catering to 10% of their players, and people are sick of it. Right now, the "hardcore" end game is the only thing that exists. For everyone else sure I guess you can play ketchcrash for the billionth time, because that activity is so fun right?... not. Or you can play through strikes. There is the witch queen weekly mission which isn't horrible but again it's the same mission over and over, there's nightfall, again, the same mission over and over, and strikes.... for if you like kicking puppies I guess? Because your odds of wiping on strikes are about 1%. Ketchcrash, is too easy for six person teams to play, and the only other difficulty is not matchmade. Heroic nightfall is too easy and too repedative to get enjoyment out of, but anything harder, you have to use lfg or whatever else to get a team together. Raids aren't matchmade at all which means that the majority of the playerbase has an entire part of the story they are deliberately locked out of. The people that "hard core" players describe as casuals are less than 10% of the game's audience. The people that "hard core" players describe them selves as, again, less than 10% of the players. There are scales and balances so the "rest of the community" cannot be described as a lump sum of 80% but it mean that for at least half of the players, probably closer to 65%, they either have nothing to do, or are excluded from content they don't feel comfortable doing with strangers or just don't have time to do, period. Lets take grasp for example. Other than the dickish parts of the game with boobietraps, and the one sparrow event that can literally be made multiplayer by adding about another 10 seconds, the rest of the content could absolutely have matchmade or solo modes. Why don't they? Because screw you that's why. The issue with Divinity, is that people are sick of Bungie treating the game like there are only try hards and "casuals". The rest of us want things to do and we don't mean grind. Right now, if you aren't a raid fanatic, or someone who enjoys doing the same thing over and over and over with no reward, there's nothing in Destiny for you, and that is a problem.
