Divinity nerf is a joke.

It increases damage by 30%. However. 1 out of 6 people are not doing damage. So that actually makes it a 15% increase. But if you nerf it by 15%, it will make no damage difference other than the little bit of Div damage. If you want to nerf it to switch up the meta, fine. Frankly I am bored of Linear Fusion Rifles for everything. But your timing of actually moving on your thoughts of doing this shows you listened to a cry baby streamer cause never in years did you actually act on a Divinity nerf before the buzz from Salt.

    • Assuming all 6 players are capable of the same damage numbers nothing else applied the loss of 1 players damage is 1/6 or 16.67%. Now since this one player is applying a debuff, those 5 other players are now doing 5/6*1.15 = damage, or 95.83% of the damage they were doing when all 6 players were doing damage. However, this is assuming all players are doing the maximum damage possible, I.E. if they are using a crit based weapon they crit every time which we know is not likely due to a multitude of factors. Lets say that everyone is hitting the crit 80% of the time. For linears have a crit multiplier of 2.5. For ease of math we'll say base damage is 1. So, per shot optimal will be 2.5. at a crit rate of 80% you are doing effectively 2.2 damage per shot, you are doing 88% of optimal damage. So, hitting all crits means an increase of damage of roughly 12%. So lets apply this to the previous damage adjustment. 95.83%*1.12 = 107.3% damage when div is up. We can actually find the percent of crits you need to hit for div to no longer grant a net boost. Using excel, its about 93% headshot/crit shot rate. In most boss phases, this means only missing 1-2 shots per damage phase. So if your team is good enough, applying a stronger debuff by means of a void super or grenades will actually net you more damage. So this adds potential for better damage at a higher risk. Which is exactly as it should be. The most effective damage method should not be the easiest. For the vast majority of teams, div will still be optimal damage. It's not garbage

          • Love how they nerfed rockets so the community goes to linears and a div users. SO they nerf div. I mean if the mechanics didn't make it so bosses head bobbled like a chickens while you also have excessive screen shake from never ending spawning adds the community wouldn't go for set ups that don't need as much accuracy because we would actually be able to aim.

          • A new cover story has arisen, huh?… Welp, let’s clear things up. There was no announced plan to change Divinity before. If there was one and it was announced, streamers wouldn’t call it out again. The fact that streamers are the most informed about this game they live on tells you that they called it out based on their own interest and not from what was announced before. Nothing has been mentioned about changes in Divinity before the streamers called it out. If there was a plan before, then streamers would look dumb for calling it out again when there was supposed to be a proposed plan already announced. And we all know streamers wouldn’t want to be branded as dumb, right?…

            don't forget flinch at sisters, reticla at corner of your screen. also 5-20% would be 6 players damage. make the nerf only 20%. also lfg now must be 1 hunter tether or KICK. also something messes up dps, bad loadout, flinch, death etc. you are fu#[]ed lol.

          • Don't forget that there are multiple encounters where all 5 can't be doing damage at the same time. So you have even less active players benefiting from it.
