So with this divinity nerf to 15% debuff, is Titan bubble going to be buffed back to its original state? You guys do realize that Titan bubble is literally useless now when you still have well. Talk about balancing the game, bubble needs its weapon damage back. Not to mention are raids going to be tweaked because they are all built around divinity.
-
They better not tweak raids. People need to get better at doing DPS. Game needs to stop being dumbed down.

6 RepliesYou can do all the raids without divinity. Divinity just make them easier. That said isn't tractor cannon a 25% debuff for all weapons? Means you can run tractor now and actually participate in DPS which to me is cool since I hate having to always run divinity. Lumina is also a 35% debuff I do believe which is 5% more then divinity now 🤷♂️

3 RepliesThe difference between Bubble and Well is that Well heals and buffs damage while Bubble buffs damage, gives overshields on deploy (with the aspect) and when passing through (with exotic) and blocks OHK damage from various enemies and guardians.

2 RepliesWith Paraphrasing Bungie: "we don't believe divinity in its current form is actually a balance problem" Also Bungie: "it has an extremely long uptime, is dominant in endgame content and sucks the air out of the room for other weaken options" Also also Bungie: "so we are nerfing it" The course of action does not match the declared stance and this seems to be a consistent problem over the life of the IP. - Players play game - Bungie presents new options for play - Players use options available - Bungie nerfs option due to perceived "dominance of option" - Players adapt, finding the next best option - Players play game - Bungie nerfs option due to perceived "dominance of option" - Players adapt, finding the next best option - Bungie introduces item presenting new options for play - Players use options available - Bungie nerfs option due to perceived "dominance of option" - Players adapt, finding the next best option - Players play game - Bungie nerfs option due to perceived "dominance of option" - Players adapt, finding the next best option - Bungie introduces item presenting new options for play - Players use options available And so on and so forth. This is a path that "works" as it addresses the symptom but not the problem and the problem is methodology of eco-system management. Using the example of Divinity being "dominant" because it removes the opportunity for other options, it's a shame Bungie didn't consider doing something with those options [using the examples listed in the TWAB]: Tether If a target is directly HIT by the tether - Increase its Radius (a metre or two); OR - The tether is attached to the initial target hit and MOVES with them, tethering enemies who enter proximity; OR - Initial duration is modified by number of enemies tethered and killed (add .5 to 1 second for each enemy tethered and another .5 to 1 second for each enemy killed) Tie any of the above to Hunter exotics that line up with the theme of the NightStalker like - Moebius Quiver - Assassin's Cowl - Foe Tracer - KnuckleHead Radar - Oath Keeper This would change how Hunters play their tethers making them think more about placement (strategic board control vs optimized assassination) Tractor Cannon options - Increase the total duration of the Scientific Method to 10s; - Modify the duration of the Scientific Method based on proximity to the target (the closer you are, the longer it lasts); - During Scientific Method, increase the damage of Void POWER Weapons above the flat bonus received; - During Scientific Method, increase the refresh rate of Void Abilities Any of the above would help to address the "dominance" of Divinity but even then, options relating to Divinity itself could be considered: - Change Judgement so Precision hit is what procs the larger Crit Bubble for allies and sustained Fire (constant, not feathered) is what maintains the Crit bubble OR - User lands precision hit to the enemy, sustained fire grows the bubble BUT as the bubble is being sustained at max size, Divinity consumes super energy, then abilities to weaken the enemy This forces precision attack, sustained constant fire (not feathering...) ripping through ammo, and loss of super usage to assist the team. Note Bungie how none of these options require a nerf of effect but a commitment to play. So instead of nerfing everything down to achieve some weird sort of equilibrium, promote effective play by having players engage in deliberate choices. Utility isn't the problem here. Game Dev Ideology is.

6 RepliesWhat? Bubble? Run lumina, better.

2 RepliesI’d say tweak encounters some more and drop well bonus damage down to +20%. They also need to buff Ward damage resist in PvE. Make Wards tanks great at absorbing damage that would normally 1-shot a guardian, make Wells kings of absorbing chip damage. We need some good options to compete with Div. Tractor cannon and tether need buffs (maybe to duration?). We also need a new weapon or two that can work. Nerfing Div opens Bungie up to make more weapons compete and have fewer encounters like Rhulk or Taniks not require Div. So long as Bungie does a decent job of tweaking some bosses to compensate. Though, unless you’re on Master mode or at these two bosses, you don’t really need Div.

17 RepliesWe're going back to D1 baby. From now on in every raid we play, Hunter's can only be tether Titans can only be bubble Warlock's can be... well we don't have Sunsinger anymore and Well is clearly over powered and power creeps Bubble to the point it's basically useless in comparison. Better get rid of Well next plz. It's boring as hell anyways.
-
3 RepliesBubble will need a rework at some time in the future. Simply a higher buff won't do it as Lumina already offers that.

Edited by firerwolf: 10/7/2022 7:15:37 PMBuddle really isn’t related to the div nerf. Like the reason we’ll is used over bubble is the healing, they give the same buff now. Also div is a debuff. Your post would make sense if you were asking for a buff to tether but not bubble.

7 RepliesOkay I'm super down for weapons of light to be a bit more impactful, but I've got to shoot down the statement that raid encounters are designed for Divinity because that is patently false. Divinity trivializes encounters to the extent that we may have forgotten that there's options outside of it, but the encounters certainly were not designed to require it. Crit spots exist on all of those bosses and it would be awful game design to make encounters that require a weapon from a challenging quest issued almost three years ago.
-
2 RepliesThey aren’t build around divinity, you can do every boss encounter with ghally and rockets just as easily.
-
4 Repliesraids are not build around div, just learn to aim again noobs
-
2 RepliesThe div nerf is fine. But a change to bubble would be great. Instead of the old damage buff, I'd say make armour of light also give the highest tier damage resistance and take the persistence from helm of Saint and dad that to base bubble. Then give helm of Saint an extra benefit of giving weapons of light the old damage values. I figured this way base bubble sticks to the tank support style and can only be the basic stat increase monster it was by using the exotic choice. I will add that to make sure well doesn't become redundant with a change like that is to also heal overshields but no generate new ones like normal.

Edited by Coal: 10/7/2022 3:17:08 AMI like to place my bubble in the back and tell it to stay there and look pretty while we do damage. I give it a little pat on the back afterwards and say good job. Poor thing doesn’t realize it’s useless😔
-
3 RepliesBubble's useless..........can we make Well useless next please? I'll be somewhat happy then.
-
3 RepliesDiv literally makes it so you don't have to aim your weapon in a game revolving around gun play. Im sick of every boss having over inflated health pools to accommodate everyone use Div. I am interested if Boss health pools will be tuned with this tuning. I'm not a streamer, I'm part of the garbage bottom skilled players - but I think Div is bad for this game & I just want endgame to be challenging instead of it's laughably easy state it's currently in.
-
I wonder if they could make it so weapons of light lasts longer in PvE activities. Also encounter design greatly changes how good certain abilities and weapons are. Bubble during Rhulk is arguably better than well because you can move around and still have the damage buff. Same goes for the harpy encounter GoS. So making encounters involve more dynamic encounter movement the more bubble will outshine well.
-
19 RepliesNerf well
-
17 RepliesThat's what I'm saying. There are people who complain div makes the game too easy. Meanwhile we have the Rhulk boss from VoW who moves around so much it feels like Div is required.
-
Tbh raids don't need to be tweaked. If 15% damage debuff isn't enough then guess what? We have other 30% dmg debuffs available to be used, I know you forgot about them becaise divinity made them useless, but they exist.

Well....even tough i agree. Bubble is still a buff and div is a debuffs. I would prefer having them giving us more options to debuff a boss for more than a few seconds x)
-
21 RepliesHahahahaha. So true and now a raid exotic is hot garbage.
-
5 RepliesI feel bad for the gamers who don’t have the best aim to get high damage. They helped their fireteam by using Divinity, and now it will not be used in (most) activities. Bummer

cope harder

5 RepliesSentinel shield is what a 40% damage buff? If people were willing to sacrifice one person for a debuff they could sacrifice one person for a buff. Tether + Sentinel Shield will be probably the new way.
