    • They said Divinity was on their radar way back before the controversy. There were already plans to adjust it, but you people don't even try to inform yourselves. It's just monkey see monkey do

My whole thing is, make aspects of the game better then. I guess they "feel" they had to nerf it, for whatever reason they concocted. But don't nerf it just to make other things more difficult., and not improve the GAME. I feel they have a horrible habit of just saying "oh let's nerf this to make the artificial grind and difficulty higher". But make zero improvements otherwise to the game itself. Just like when they auto completed the 50 champions challenge. Sure, it helped. But what was improved? Nothing. I don't have Divinity, and glad I didn't grind for it now. I saw this coming as with every other Exotic that people enjoy too much.

The idea that streamers have much of an impact on Bungie is mind-boggling. Please rewind the past year and think about all the complaints streamers have had. There's A LOT. Now think about all the actions Bungie has taken. Bungie happens to nerf a weapon one streamer complained about, and OMG! Bungie is taking their queues form streamers!! Haha this is silly

As I have stated, repeatedly, this was never about the damned weapon. Nerf it. Don't nerf it. I don't care and if you cut the bullsh!t to get to the deeper level of what's going on you realize very quickly that the fundamental problem is that Bungie thinks that "Casual" and "Hard Core" players are things that exist. They. Aren't. The real problem, and the reason people got pissed off over divinity, not the act of the nerf, but the spirit behind the nerf, is because there's nothing for the majority of players to do, Bungie is only catering to 10% of their players, and people are sick of it. Right now, the "hardcore" end game is the only thing that exists. For everyone else sure I guess you can play ketchcrash for the billionth time, because that activity is so fun right?... not. Or you can play through strikes. There is the witch queen weekly mission which isn't horrible but again it's the same mission over and over, there's nightfall, again, the same mission over and over, and strikes.... for if you like kicking puppies I guess? Because your odds of wiping on strikes are about 1%. Ketchcrash, is too easy for six person teams to play, and the only other difficulty is not matchmade. Heroic nightfall is too easy and too repedative to get enjoyment out of, but anything harder, you have to use lfg or whatever else to get a team together. Raids aren't matchmade at all which means that the majority of the playerbase has an entire part of the story they are deliberately locked out of. The people that "hard core" players describe as casuals are less than 10% of the game's audience. The people that "hard core" players describe them selves as, again, less than 10% of the players. There are scales and balances so the "rest of the community" cannot be described as a lump sum of 80% but it mean that for at least half of the players, probably closer to 65%, they either have nothing to do, or are excluded from content they don't feel comfortable doing with strangers or just don't have time to do, period. Lets take grasp for example. Other than the dickish parts of the game with boobietraps, and the one sparrow event that can literally be made multiplayer by adding about another 10 seconds, the rest of the content could absolutely have matchmade or solo modes. Why don't they? Because screw you that's why. The issue with Divinity, is that people are sick of Bungie treating the game like there are only try hards and "casuals". The rest of us want things to do and we don't mean grind. Right now, if you aren't a raid fanatic, or someone who enjoys doing the same thing over and over and over with no reward, there's nothing in Destiny for you, and that is a problem.

                • A new cover story has arisen, huh?… Welp, let’s clear things up. There was no announced plan to change Divinity before. If there was one and it was announced, streamers wouldn’t call it out again. The fact that streamers are the most informed about this game they live on tells you that they called it out based on their own interest and not from what was announced before. Nothing has been mentioned about changes in Divinity before the streamers called it out. If there was a plan before, then streamers would look dumb for calling it out again when there was supposed to be a proposed plan already announced. And we all know streamers wouldn’t want to be branded as dumb, right?…

                          • The nerf is actually the very best thing bungie could’ve done to make everyone happy. You can still use the exotic too, you just now need a tether hunter super to be able to dish out the same damage as your team was doing before. This is perfectly balanced. At least bungie didn’t remove the ability to expand the crit or the debuff completely. Toning down the debuff to 15% is the same as running the void fragment where grenades debuff enemies. If you want a higher debuff then you need a tether or the exotic shotgun.

                            • With Paraphrasing Bungie: "we don't believe divinity in its current form is actually a balance problem" Also Bungie: "it has an extremely long uptime, is dominant in endgame content and sucks the air out of the room for other weaken options" Also also Bungie: "so we are nerfing it" The course of action does not match the declared stance and this seems to be a consistent problem over the life of the IP. - Players play game - Bungie presents new options for play - Players use options available - Bungie nerfs option due to perceived "dominance of option" - Players adapt, finding the next best option - Players play game - Bungie nerfs option due to perceived "dominance of option" - Players adapt, finding the next best option - Bungie introduces item presenting new options for play - Players use options available - Bungie nerfs option due to perceived "dominance of option" - Players adapt, finding the next best option - Players play game - Bungie nerfs option due to perceived "dominance of option" - Players adapt, finding the next best option - Bungie introduces item presenting new options for play - Players use options available And so on and so forth. This is a path that "works" as it addresses the symptom but not the problem and the problem is methodology of eco-system management. Using the example of Divinity being "dominant" because it removes the opportunity for other options, it's a shame Bungie didn't consider doing something with those options [using the examples listed in the TWAB]: Tether If a target is directly HIT by the tether - Increase its Radius (a metre or two); OR - The tether is attached to the initial target hit and MOVES with them, tethering enemies who enter proximity; OR - Initial duration is modified by number of enemies tethered and killed (add .5 to 1 second for each enemy tethered and another .5 to 1 second for each enemy killed) Tie any of the above to Hunter exotics that line up with the theme of the NightStalker like - Moebius Quiver - Assassin's Cowl - Foe Tracer - KnuckleHead Radar - Oath Keeper This would change how Hunters play their tethers making them think more about placement (strategic board control vs optimized assassination) Tractor Cannon options - Increase the total duration of the Scientific Method to 10s; - Modify the duration of the Scientific Method based on proximity to the target (the closer you are, the longer it lasts); - During Scientific Method, increase the damage of Void POWER Weapons above the flat bonus received; - During Scientific Method, increase the refresh rate of Void Abilities Any of the above would help to address the "dominance" of Divinity but even then, options relating to Divinity itself could be considered: - Change Judgement so Precision hit is what procs the larger Crit Bubble for allies and sustained Fire (constant, not feathered) is what maintains the Crit bubble OR - User lands precision hit to the enemy, sustained fire grows the bubble BUT as the bubble is being sustained at max size, Divinity consumes super energy, then abilities to weaken the enemy This forces precision attack, sustained constant fire (not feathering...) ripping through ammo, and loss of super usage to assist the team. Note Bungie how none of these options require a nerf of effect but a commitment to play. So instead of nerfing everything down to achieve some weird sort of equilibrium, promote effective play by having players engage in deliberate choices. Utility isn't the problem here. Game Dev Ideology is.

Shocker right? Every single terrible change was a major complaint by STREAMERS. I remember big streamers constantly crying about power creep and having no loot chase that feels worth and therefore sunsetting needs to be a thing. Guess what was implemented not soon after. Yes, sunsetting. Everyone hated it, shocker. Rng drop rates have SIGNIFICANTLY been nerfed into the absolute ground for almost everything after streamers complained that they have nothing to do in the game. Only rewarding activitites left in the game are the highest dificulties which require excessive power level grinds every season as a result. Same with streamers crying about the game being too easy for their fulltime job enjoyment. Soon later Grandmaster nightfalls, master raids and other master content plus trials came out. Content that's maybe played by 1-2 % of the entire playerbase cause of heavy power level restrictions and tedious grind attached to even playing said activities in the first place EVERY single season. Every nerf to weapon outliers was cryed about by streamers beforehand aswell. This company is a bunch of streamer satisfiers for whatever reason. Quick hint Bungie: Building your game for an elitist, tiny minority is not good nor healthy for the games growth. It scares away normal players who actually only play 1-2 hours per day if even. Not everyone can play the game as a fulltime job. It's simply wasted development resources to cater everything towards streamers.
