I feel cheated buying the Mountaintop - is there a way to return it?

It is not at all obvious that the Monuments of Lights sells gear that is level capped to 1350. After buying several exotics which upgrade just fine, I did a lot of grinding shards to save up and buy Mountaintop from the legacy section. I'm so angry that if I can't get this fixed I'll never spend any more money on upgrades or expansions on any Bungie game ever. All it says is that you can't get it from quests any more. Yes, if you hold 'e' you can see the limits, but there should be a much more visible indicator that you are buying very expensive and worthless gear. Searching the game menus and and this web site, I don't see how to create a complaint for this. Is there a place to submit a trouble ticket for this?

Now that it is purchased, there is no way to return it. The Mountaintop, both when you inspect it in collections and in the Monument to Lost Light, is listed as a Legacy Item. In fact, in the Monument it is in the Legacy Items section very clearly shown with its upper left corner grayed out as opposed to not. Furthermore, upon inspecting the gun and hovering over its power you'd see that it is limited. That all said, it is not useless. In any activity where power level is not used (certain crucible modes, for example) the weapon is still usable and people use it from time to time for nostalgia.

    • Maybe, just maybe one day Bungie will reverse sunsetting on these old gems, but don't hold your breath.

    • Yes, it is obvious. There's a sunset watermark on it, no inspection needed. Pretty easy to see at a glance.

        • there is no where to submit a ticket on user error, or user lack of knowledge.
