PC/Console crossplay was a mistake
It was implemented because Bungie had to pad out the player numbers and nothing else
Console/controller players should have been allowed to synch themselves off from PC cheaters/mouse warriors from the very beginning.
Now Bungie is stuck trying to end cheating in their games which will NEVER happen because its too easy to cheat on PC
I love watching cars spin their wheels in mud/ice until the engine blows

If you are in an all console fireteam you will only ever be matched against console players. The problem is that so many console players cheat using K&M adaptors & Zens it gives them a clear advantage. You just end up thinking you're playing against PC players.

I've come to the conclusion that they aren't listening anymore. This is not the same Bungie that started Destiny and definitely not the ones who started Halo. At least they took feedback.

If you only have Consol players in your fire team you will not get matched with PC players

2 RepliesIt's a catch 22. I enjoy playing with my friends on different platforms, but I should be able to turn off PC crossplay when I decide I want a fair competitive experience. Every competitive shooter right now has a cheating problem. The MW2 beta had cheaters after 1 -blam! day. It's not a problem that's ever going away, so I think devs need to give us the option to turn on or off only PC players.

It's always funny to hear these complaints from scrubs. As someone who has thousands of hours of experience playing with and against both inputs. Mouse players aren't any better than controller players, and in fact it's usually controller players who are harder to beat. Destiny 2 has insanely strong aim assist and gargantuan accuracy cones. Many if not a majority of the top pvp streamers and content creators play on controller. Why? Because aiming is easier on controller. with a controller all you have to do is line up your first shot and every hit after will land because the controller aim assist is strong enough to hold your aim on target against any amount of strafing or crouch spamming. the only things that can reliably break tracking are rapid movement abilities like hunter jump and shoulder charge

They say ignorance is bliss. But not in this case. Console only matches with other Consoles. You only play against PC if you are in a fireteam with a PC in your team. If your fireteam is all on Consoles, then you will never be matched against PC. If you play in a fireteam with a PC member, you’re screwed. Ignorance is sometimes not blissful. Don’t be one.

Pc and console players only play against themselves if they choose to do so. Unless in pve which doesn’t matter.

2 RepliesI’m pretty sure Bungie favors PC over console at least Xbox anyway. I have good internet. And when I go into my privacy settings on Xbox and turn off Crossplay Destiny can’t seem to find a game. PVP never loaded. Even after 30 minutes of waiting. Dares would load me up solo and no one ever joins. Strikes start me up solo and about 10 minutes in one other player will join. Pretty sure Destiny is now just coded to put you in the fastest available PC or Sony connection. There’s no way Bungie isn’t aware it’s this bad on Xbox.

It usually is, the inherent issues with crossplay outweigh the upsides. That goes for crossplay in general, not just Destiny.
