SBMM is only good for the very lowest tier players.
For anyone above a 1.2 overall K/D every single game feels like a 6v6 scrim lobby in control, which is why I don’t touch that mode with a ten foot stick anymore.
SBMM belongs in comp and comp only, not the causal game modes that are supposed to give people a break from having to sweat like crazy in trials or comp.
People like you and others have made PvP into the worst state it’s been in a very very long time.
Almost every control game I’ve played (last time I did play) I was the only one going positive, same thing as before SBMM was added.
Now though not only is it borderline impossible to carry my teammates, it’s just downright exhausting to even attempt to. I haven’t had a single control I’ve played in the past week or two that didn’t go to time, or was extremely close. Those kinds of games really take it out of you if you’re the team to lose.
If they’re gonna keep SBMM, they need to add clash to be a permanent game mode. Control is by far the worst experience I have ever had in any PvP game to date.
-Punishments in a casual game mode
-Terrible lobby balancing
-People still teleport like Dr Fate
-6v6 scrim lobbies every game pretty much
-No longer allowed to use anything besides Meta weapons if you want to go positive
I can go on and on about how terrible SBMM being added to the game is.

1 ReplyAlready getting downvoted by the 0.2 hivemind because you brought up fair and good points about why sbmm is bad lol.

Be prepared to be downvoted because you criticised sbmm with reasonable points. Hopefully it’ll be removed and reworked next season into the actual competitive playlist.

11 RepliesEvery time I see a post like this it makes me laugh because sbmm show us who the real skill player are and the bad player I am by no means a god in pvp but I am average at it so crying because you have to play against people of your lvl and now bungie is showing you how bad your really are

Sbmm doesnt work in a p2p game. Right now its hurting everyone with a skill lvl above room temprature. The quitting penalty is making it worse, it forces you to stay in on bad maps with ppl that have bad connections and you get punished for finding a better match. If the game had dedicated servers it would only be the bad maps that cause ppl to leave.
