I reckon un-vaulting the Black Armoury weaponry so that players can craft them at the Relic not only makes sense gameplay-wise as players are still rather upset over content vaulting as a whole, but lore-wise as well seeing how we were in essence 'crafting' the Black Armoury weapons already, just with a different step-by-step process.
You could even make a small questline for it, with Ava-1 learning of the Relic and its' weapon shaping capabilities, sending you off to where the Black Armoury forges once were in the EDZ and Nessus in order to salvage what data/materials you can and bringing these back to the Relic in order for Ava-1 to try and integrate them into the Relic.
Another benefit of this specific weapon set becoming craftable would be the holes that it would fill in the current crafting lineup that have occured either due to there not being any available weapon patterns for a specific weapon-damage type combo (for example, there is currently no option for a craftable Sniper Rifle that does Arc damage, which the Black Armourys' [url=https://www.destinypedia.com/Tatara_Gaze]Tatara Gaze[/url] would qualify for), or because that particular weapon pattern is not widely available due to it being raid and/or old seasonal content (Of the two craftable Sniper Rifles in the Kinetic slot, one is King's Fall raid loot and the other was a Season 16 Pass reward, and the Black Armourys' [url=https://www.destinypedia.com/Show_of_Force_XF4865]Show of Force XF4865[/url] could be used as a more commonly available option)

2 RepliesFor those who say no because of the cost of development for new stuff. Look, we dont even really get new stuff, all we get are reskins with new perks of weapons and archetypes that have existed since forever. At this point, to bring back black armory weapons would actually feel better than getting the same reskined smg with new perks over and over again. Take this seasons smg for example (i like it btw). It would not surprise me if bungie reskins it, make it strand, and introduce it as a "new strand weapon" next dlc. At the end, do we really get new things? We got a new iron banner sword last season and guess what, its pretty much useless. At least black armory weapons felt special and unique. Take hammerhead for example. And yes i know commemoration is better and what not. In fact i have a godroll and is fun, but hammerhead was just different and i loved it. Also, im already used to the bungie formula as well as most of the playerbase is. This is destiny and this is bungie, here take this content do you like it or not thats your problem take it or leave it. And im not hating on the game or anything infact i've been playing for 6 years and so far i like it, it had its ups and downs. All im saying is, we dont really get "new" things seasonwise and we have to be okay with it, otherwise go play another game. So, it wouldnt hurt to bring back old black armory weapons as craftable with new perks. At the end thats what bungie does every season.

5 RepliesShould Black armory items return? Yes, they never should have been sunset in the first place. As craftable weapons? NO! Craftable weapons are a rip off on so many levels. Way too grindy - no alternate perks - also way too grindy - did I mention too grindy? Every single craftable weapon I like... I ALSO hate, because its a craftable weapon. Has it occurred to anybody you can't throw them out without losing leveling progress? I don't want gear like that! All it is going to do down the road is further clog up our vaults! [i]Gunship[/i]

And now Ana Bray is working with Ada-1. Doubt we’ll see raid weapons returning though. I think they will be kept until SotP get reprised. We didn’t see Leviathan weapons or CoS weapons reprised during last season. I personally wish dead man walking gets turned into void. We’ve never get a void rapid sidearm ever since year 2

So they come out with DLCs with handfuls of weapons instead of including past weapons they already designed you know why? Cause less weapons means they have less balancing to do and we all know they can't handle the balancing act that already is.

Add the forge weapons and update their perk pool. Give them a trait (maybe Blacksmith to tie it all together with that season). Maybe even add some NEW weapon types that we didn’t get (like SOTP did with scout, rocket, fusion, etc.) GIVE US A GLAIVE EVEN
