Bright Engram Duplicate Drops - Violates Bungies Own Policy

Bright Engrams dropping duplicate items is unacceptable when acquiring them is already slow. The rate of getting desired or high quality items from them is already known to be terrible. It is also a established policy of bungie themselves that Bright Engrams should NEVER drop duplicate items. This is a violation of their own established policy on the matter. This needs fixed fir not only the integrity of the value of the bright engrams, but also because bungie should take responsibility accirding to their own policy. I have included a video from Cheese Forever on youtube to further emphasis the matter.

  • I am not sure, but some seasons ago bungie said there shouldnt be dublicates at all, and in that certain season, i didnt get ANY dublicate not even sparrows which i could dismantle. In the last 2-3 seasons i have more dublicates than new items which is some kind of frustrating. But i guess bungie wont change it.

    • It's been dropping dupe sparrows, ships and ghost shells since Forsaken released. Year 1 was the good times man.

Notifications were not appearing. I am also going to own up to my lack of reading in advance on the exact policies. Yes the policy states emotes and finishers are exempt from dropping double because they are account perma unlocks. Although given the changes to the cosmetic system of the game, shaders also fall under said classification of account permanent unlocks and should also not be permitted to duplicate drop. If the problem persists than even ornaments for armor/weps/exotics could also start duplicate dropping and those are also account based permanent unlocks. Yes im stupid and didnt read the policies fully. But the policy is still being violated in some regard via shaders. While shaders would not have violated the policy several years ago when they were consumables, now they do thanks to the changes made to the cosmetic system. I interpret the listing of emotes and finshers in the policy as more of an example rather than explicitly saying only those are exempt from duplicate drops as per their own phrasing in the policy. https://www.bungie.net/mobi/en/about/Troubleshoot?id=13665

      • The only items Bungie explicitly stated you can’t receive duplicates of is finishers and emotes. It sucks but it is what it is.

        • Those engrams have value? I just turn them in without paying attention to whatever they drop. In fact, I'd opt out of them if given the chance to trade them in for upgrade materials or something else within the games economy.
