1 ReplyBungie confirmed it on an interview and said no because they claimed “ how else would we sell ornaments?”. Basically they rather you spend money on eververse
-
You can even preview shaders on exotic weapons when you inspect in collections. My Outbreak Perfected could be shown with shaders on it
-
Other games (Outlanders) let you transmog any weapon into any weapon. In SWTOR weapons are just shells for parts (barrels, enhancements, etc.) and are purely cosmetic. This is a big miss design wise for destiny. When they introduced "weapon crafting" I was hoping for something more MMOish where we could really *craft* the weapon. Instead we got 99999999 more currencies, 999999999x more RNG and 99999999x more grind. I wish they would get rid of whoever thinks that RNG and grinding is they only way to design something.
Why not? Everyone else is doing it
Careful with this one, all folks wanted last dlc was giving exotic weapons the capability of orb generation Look how that turned out
-
4 RepliesI personally just wish that they would stop deliberately making exotics butt ugly to nudge you towards buying ornaments.
-
FOR ALL THE PEOPLE SAYING WE HAVE ORNAMENTS: Inspect a shader in collections with an exotic weapon equipped. Go on, do it. It’ll shade the exotic weapon, as well as your armour. It’s already in the game, just no way to apply it 💀
-
1 ReplyNot happening, Why? Answer: $. Ornaments bring in money, if ppl can just shade those exos, eververse ornament sales will decline. Bungie is all about money so this will not happen.
-
They have have shaders on exotics weapons… they’re called ORNAMENTS, and they cost you 700 Silver or 1200 bright dust. 😂 Hell, most weapon ornaments just look like shaders anyway since they don’t change anything but the weapon’s color pattern. Ridiculous🤨
-
What's funny is its already set up in material groups and it does work in theory. Just equip a primary exotic and preview a shader from collections, you can see it applies it to the gun as well.

8 RepliesIf your friend jumped off a bridge would you do it too?

4 RepliesNo A_dmg04

39 RepliesNo. People don't deserve the option of choice. Not with how they outfit their characters. -blam!- clown suit wearing fashion disasters.

Ehy Guardian. The are two possible reasons for why we can't put Shaders on Exotic Weapons. The first is quite simple, it would influence the Ornaments system and the Eververse which is the monetization base in D2. The second -which I don't know how much is actually considrable to be honest- is that by putting Shaders on Exotics this could create "confusion" in PvP. Sounds kinda improbable to me, imho, but I'ìve seen people rise this argument before...
-
5 RepliesHaving the option to put a shader on all exotic weapons would directly impact the sales of exotic weapon ornaments. It won't happen.
-
Yes pls

Everworse says no.

Because some ornaments are just shaders -
1 ReplyEh I agree with this… but knowing Bungie or DMG they’ll never do this. Gotta make money some how.
-
I wouldn’t buy a single ornament if I could shade exotic weapons.
-
1 ReplyEververse, people pay real money to change skins on weapons.
-
2 RepliesWill never happen. Too many people spend money in eververse
-
It effects Ever Verse is the short answer of why it wont happen.
-
6 RepliesIf they allowed this, it would lower the incentive to buy ornaments.
-
1 ReplyBecause then they wouldn't be able to get away with selling a colour change as an ornament, 'cough vex'

Edited by BOSSNONO254: 9/12/2022 6:00:10 PMI’d put sunset warrior on my touch of malice, outbreak, vex, collective obligation, and anarchy. Nothing is better than a punk hot pink color on some fun using exotics.
