My Thoughts on IB Matchmaking

Iron Banner doesn’t have sbmm. I know now a lot of people are going to be pretty mad, and the common argument people keep saying is, “yOu cAnT gO AgAiNsT pEoPlE iN yOuR oWn sKiLl LeVeL bEcAuSe yOu eNjOy sToMpInG oN tHoSe WeAkEr tHaN yOu”. This argument mostly comes to be invalid for most of the high tier players as high tier players spend a lot of time in comp, trials, and in private matches too. Sometimes they come to quickplay and they obviously do better than the most, and to be fair, they deserve it. They probably spend hours without end to hone their skill in games and to simply be better than others. And for that, I see that they should be rewarded. People should generally be rewarded for the amount of time they spend in any game, in Destiny 2’s PVE, if a player spends time they would either earn the weapon they want, title, triumph scores, etc… In PVP, other than trials, there really isn’t much for players to earn and brag about when comparing it to PVE. We have 3 titles, Flawless, Unbroken, and Iron Lord. But nothing else really other than our stats to brag out. A lot of people hate it when PvP players flex or show off their stats and if they show any kind of “care” towards their PvP stats, they instantly get flamed for being sweats, tryhards, etc…. It really shouldn’t be like that, because in its current state, PvP players don't have much to show or flex. Every other competitive game has their own sort of ranking system, these ranking systems are usually what most people use to brag. But with the current state of PVP in destiny, the only thing they can flex is their PVP Stats. Furthermore, if Bungie adds a proper ranking system like how CSGO, R6, or Valorant does, you’d have more of these “sweaty” players heading to the comp playlist. But in its current state, Destiny doesn’t have that unfortunately because the game isn’t build for proper competitive PvP.
