It was a huge turn off for me personally in Destiny 1 that the gun can kill you if you are not cautious enough. So it did sit for years in my vault.
I hoped that in Destiny 2 the Touch of Malice would just keep your life at 1HP while firing the last round. It wouldn't break PvP much, because you can still die from being blown at with air.
In PvE the same, tho most will compensate with healing abilities anyways. But that makes Touch of Malice only a good pick if you either run Solar or Void. With Arc and Stasis you are handicapping yourself a lot due to no real heal abilities (aside of Titan Knockout Aspect).
Guess I pass on the gun again, Bungie.
Edit: Bungie, also you really need to fix your word filter. I can't even type "k.ill" in the title without it being censored. How else shall I describe dying by force in a video game?

To be fair, healing is wildly plentiful in D2. That wasn’t the case in D1.
