Last word, hawk moon, no problem. What is it about ace of spades that makes it feel worse? Xbox player

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who has trouble with Ace. Guess it's just not for me and really isn't worth the time needed to get good with it. Thanks all

A lot of good advice in here.🤑

Edited by AbseilR: 9/6/2022 5:57:38 AMIt has pretty low stability so the accuracy cone doesn't reset as quickly when you fire->means you can't spam shots as much with it unless you've learned the firing cadence and visual recoil to a T. I've learned that you *have* to be prepared for the initial reticle bounce if someone gets a shot off on you. If you can expect and adjust for that initial flinch and follow up your shots, add that to the flinch Ace can give to other players, you can dual pretty well with it. Especially if you utilise Momenti Mori for the occasional body shot (in a pinch, I go for a crit then spam two body shots for a kill) in between crits since trying for all headshots will only make it harder to secure a kill if you're already being shot at. It's got relatively low AA compared to most top head cannons out there i.e. Austringer, Hawkmoon, Eyasluna, etc. so you won't get away with free headshots as often. I have to use Ace for a good hour or so before I can start going on streaks with it. If I give the game a break for a day or two, I'd have to relearn it all over again but I swear, it feels so good whenever I get into a flow with it. Last Word is a bit simpler--stay in close/close-medium range, and pay attention to your fanfire stacks. Before you try full auto'ing, get used to procc'ing the perk at 1x. You can really feel the stickiness develop from there. Get that perk started, and readjust the amount of push you give your right stick. You won't have to track as much and as fast as you normally do outside of ADS, and so long as you're within range and aiming at the head, you should be able to do well with it before long. Hawkmoon is an oddball for me too. It either works, or it doesn't, despite the base stat package. I'd go into Pve and get used to it for a while then jump back into crucible when you're comfortable--not a bad shout to do with the Ace of Spades either. Hope this all helps. Edit: Just realised you only mentioned having trouble with Ace, my bad.

It's the Cheeto dust.

Pace your shots.

1 ReplyIdk what it is but ace feels way easier to fire at max speed than hawkmoon, despite hawkmoon being “aim assist: the exotic”
-
1 ReplyYou need to apply some downward pression on the thumbstick when firing.
-
Complete opposite for me lol. Ps4 player here.
-
Use it outside of pvp for a while so you get used to recoil etc. Like literally run it all week in pve (if you can)...
-
It’s likely because ace has a not-insignicant amount less aim assist than Hawkmoon. Hawkmoon’s aim assist is almost 100, the gun basically aims for you. Hawkmoon also typically have more stability than ace so you may be struggling from flinch slightly if you’re fighting an opponent with better resilience and a higher stability weapon.

2 RepliesIts god tier on MNK but on console its a hard one because of its bad stats. Just use lunas howl, the stats in that thing are bloated

practice with it outside of pvp and then try it in pvp

I would say skill issue but I also can’t use ace of spades

4 RepliesEdited by Meaga: 9/6/2022 4:01:38 AMYou just named the two highest AA exotic HCs, and then one of the lowest AA exotic HCs. You’re used to WAY more reticle stick is the problem. Hawk moon base, 93 AA. With moving target, 103 AA Ace Of Spades, 70 AA The last word, we all know what this dumb gun does
-
2 RepliesYou can’t spam it
-
It has an abysmal stability stat at 50. The recoil, especially after sliding, becomes almost unmanageable. That’s the issue I have with it.
-
It’s really good on m+kb though
-
For me, Ace of Spades always felt like it has no target acquisition. I can use most hand cannons fairly well but I've never managed to master that one. Shame too, I like the gun.
-
I can’t use ace either, but that’s probably just because I’m a scrub and never really use hand cannons with less than 70 stability. I think ace has relatively low stability and aim assist which is probably what you’re feeling.
-
1 ReplyThe stability stat could be higher, since it's a bit bouncy and now tied to flinch resistance. The only advantage is that it has the highest range stat for 140s before perks and Memento Mori to flinch the hell out of people. Personally I'd rather use Austringer or Fatebringer in the kinetic slot in most cases as they feel better to use and don't take up an exotic slot. I still think Ace is a top tier HC though

It has low aim assist
-
Same here. Love the gun, cheeks with it though.

LW is so easy to use ….spam cannon and seems to home in n enemies. People in my clan seem to slay with the ace ….on Xbox 🤷🏼♂️
-
Last Word is in a league of its own. Idk I can use it fine. Recoil direction maybe?

Same for me.
