Okay so off of base pretty much every HC in this game is fine and skillful. Hawk moon is a HUGE outlier, that gun needs an AA nerf.
Perks like moving target, EOTS, Opening shot, ect, all BREAK the precision weapon sandbox.
You should not just be able to click a node in your loudout to get more hit box or AA. I think that all of these perks and mods need a rework.
Targeting mods: Have this affect you ADS speed and increase your AE by 15. Remove the AA boost.
Moving target: Remove the aim assist buff, strafe speed is a huge bonus so the AA boost isn’t necessary for it to be good. If you REALLY want this perk to have another bonus have it increase handling or something.
EOTS: low key just take this out of the game, y’all did it with shot package. It’s very unbalanced, ESPECIALLY on HCs.
Opening shot: Remove the accuracy boost. Have this perk affect AE in some way and keep the range bonus. Yes I know that range allows for more AA over a distance however, “accuracy” (bullet magnetism) boost should not be a thing.
I may have missed some perks but you guys get the point.
TLDR: Aim assist perks shouldn’t exist.

Handcannons are balanced by range, not aim assistance. They're fine where they are

1 ReplyAim assist increasing perks should stay but the targeting mods should drop the aa boost and only increase ads speed.

Edited by hate n payne: 9/5/2022 11:40:20 AMAgreed. The focus should be to create more enhancements to the stats we need. Where are the reload and handling buffs besides the ones we are forced to use?? Where are the scopes, sights, and barrel choices for weapons? Too many passive perks outweighing and overshadowing the perks that require effort. This is why overshields and invisibility are so bad. No kills required but you can be granted it via other players or from a press of a button. Needs to be behind kills or orbs of power. This is how you know they are clueless to how to handle the sandbox. Just kiddy changes to appease to a crowd that does not desire to improve naturally through gunplay. I feel the targeting, dexterity, reload and ammo mods need to be weapon mods. We lack weapon mods so bad right now and half of them are stuck in D2 Vanilla state.

1 ReplyYes let’s have even more pulse rifles and scouts in the crucible👏

1 ReplyI do disagree about the perks. You’re taking up a slot for a different stat bump perk or a damage perk to use it. I view that as a decent trade off. It’s a win now vs a win later. As far as Targeting Mods: I 100% agree. This would be an awesome fix.

1 ReplyThere probably should be less aim assist boosts but some weapons just have really low aim assist to begin with. They kind of need the help sometimes.

4 RepliesAa must be tied to Skill Rating because when I miss my bullets don't hit. But when I watch people I play against streams they completely miss and get headshots.

This is actually the most based hand cannon aim assist nerf post I’ve ever seen Have my upvote

6 RepliesIncreasing accuracy does not boost bullet magnetism or hit box size. It does the opposite. It reduces the angle of your accuracy cone, meaning their is more chance your bullet goes exactly where your retical is located. It reduces things like ghost bullets, bloom, and ae.

Hawk moon is a HUGE outlier, that gun needs an AA nerf.
I have disagreements there. Even beyond things like Austringer, you still have more massive hitboxes than other weapons without much for recoil. And if you do miss optimal, the flinch is so huge that your opponent 90% of the time also misses it, since I'm about 75% sure the new flinch resist doesn't work against HCs. And Hawkmoon isn't that big of an outlier at 93. It's generally 7-10 over more legendary 140s, which is expected for an Exotic. Also 1 archetype is 2/3 headshots required, while the other is 50% headshots required for their (albeit pretty slow) optimal TTK. Really your only argument is that a bad 140 takes some skill to use by virtue of it being a bad 140.
Perks like moving target, EOTS, Opening shot, ect, all BREAK the precision weapon sandbox.
50/50 there, since the boosts all but EOTS give are pretty small.
You should just be able to click a node in your loudout to get more hit box or AA. I think that all of these perks and mods need a rework.
I'll kinda agree there, though.
Targeting mods: Have this affect you ADS speed and increase your AE by 15. Remove the AA boost.
I wouldn't mind this, good change. Though I'd still have boots get AE mods since they don't give much but fodder for Powerful Friends/Radiant Light's stat boosts.
Moving target: Remove the aim assist buff, strafe speed is a huge bonus so the AA boost isn’t necessary for it to be good. If you REALLY want this perk to have another bonus have it increase handling or something.
Considering the aim assist BUFF is 10, 15 for Enhanced. It's a notable, but still pretty small difference overall. I don't think it really needs a change.
EOTS: low key just take this out of the game, y’all did it with shot package. It’s very unbalanced, ESPECIALLY on HCs.
Kinda 50/50 here, since it's just such an amazing perk for dueling. But on the other end, it's a classic perk, so removing it would likely cause about a third of what nerfing Hand Cannons would cause in terms of anger.
Opening shot: Remove the accuracy boost. Have this perk affect AE in some way and keep the range bonus. Yes I know that range allows for more AA over a distance however, “accuracy” (bullet magnetism) boost should not be a thing.
I think AE would be really jarring on just one shot. I think it's balanced outside of OHK weapons since it's only effecting at best half of what you need to kill (bows). It's only really unbalanced on Specials.

2 RepliesEdited by DiZ: 9/5/2022 10:21:01 AMI like most of these ideas, but I think if Moving Target gets its AA bonus axed, then the strafe speed bonus (Or does it weaken the walking speed penalty from being ADS?) should be stronger too. I wouldn't mind the game having less AA in general, and making strafing more valuable/noticeable as a skill. I think it'd be cool if everyone was having gunfights strafing at the same speed as a Titan with Peacekeepers, but only with higher investment in Mobility and weapon/armor perks. Edit: Also, I'd like to reduce the cost of helmet targeting mods if they're nerfed. Then better stat builds would become more manageable.
