If you main Hunter, then it makes sense for you to have that opinion. I have a problem with Warlocks and Titans calling Hunters OP, just like I have a problem with Hunter mains calling Warlock or Titans OP. If you thought a class was truly better than the others, you would use it yourself.

For the record, recent player stats indicate that 40% of the active player base mains hunter. At this pace, in a year or two, half the player base will be one class. People don't want to go regrind exotics and redo campaigns and such. If that were easier and took less time, I know u would've switched to hunter by now. Playing warlock is Sunk Cost Fallacy for me. I already have all the loot and good rolls on my armor, it's not worth spending 200 hours and many months getting all of that again on hunter. By the by, Hunters have 3 of the top 4 DPS supers, and have more unique abilities than the other classes. That's not opinion. You can count them.

Where did you get that stat?

Pretty well known. It was 38% hunter in late 2020, but literally every pundit estimates that the number has grown since then since hunters keep getting buff after buff (despite the nonsense hunter mains keep spouting, they now have a top tier DPS super on every light subclass and a ton of little tricks like invis and being able to ignite on solar with a single melee). At that time, though, Bungo said 38% hunter, 31% warlock, 31% titan. Nothing had happened that would suggest people started using the other classes more regularly. Even warlock mains admit the last guardian games were rigged in their favor. 40% is likely generously underestimating. There have been some YTers and D2 players that estimate 50% of players are hunter now.

Edited by NotCreative123: 9/5/2022 5:09:14 AMLast season, some guy released stats that indicated around 50% of the Trials playerbase at that particular time were Hunters. I think that was probably due to the Classy Restoration Seasonal Mod, and I was curious to hear about the updated usage statistics now that the perk is gone. Also, Omni was nerfed. Here's the link. It's out of date now, but still interesting. https://www.kaggle.com/code/mijago/inspection-dataset-v2-07-12-2022

Yep, that's one of the ones I remember reading, but couldn't find the link for it. But, you see where I'm going. If Hunters were actually bad, they wouldn't be the player base's favorite class and a lot of people have switched to Hunter. Your initial argument to that other guy was asking why they hadn't switched to hunter because it's so good. Well, statistically, a lot of people seem to have already done so. It's pretty noticeable lol.

Possible reasons why Hunters were more used last season: 1) Until recently, Hunters were undeniably thr strongest PVP class. With nerfs to Dodge and 3.0 changes, that is now disputable. However, due to the nature of the game, it takes both time and dedication to create viable Crucible builds. It is likely that some players remain on Hunter simply because they don't have the time to re-grind armor and gear for the other classes. 2) Classy Restoration and Omni were strong last season. Lots of players will flock to the meta, and those were certainly meta builds.

I agree with you. That's a good point. However, the statistics indicated that most players used Solar Hunter and Void Hunter with Omnioculus. Omni was nerfed recently, and Solar lost Classy Restoration, so I suspect the usage rates have stabilized somewhat. I'll be interested to see the updated statistics.

That's not an opinion that's a fact. I don't waste my time with biased foolishness. Hunters are the most dominant class in pvp. Warlocks are the most dominant class in pve. You see it all the time.

Edited by NotCreative123: 9/5/2022 1:21:39 AMHaha, it is definately an opinion. All the classes cater to different playstyles, but the game is such that no playstyle is necessarily better than the others. It's hypocritical to say that any class other than the one you use is overpowered. EDIT: Oh, btw, I mean PVP only. I don't play enough PVE to have an opinion about it

Hunters have the arc staff. The strongest super in the game. Which only loses to Chaos and Tether. That's it. It's not an opinion when our super is nigh uncounterable.

Maybe you're not aware, but Bungie already nerfed the Arcstaff dodge. It was apparently bugged. Since the nerf, I've been able to kill several over-aggressive Arcstaff players with a primary weapon.
