Contest mode should be optional
Not much more to say, the raid comes out Friday evening but a good chunk of the community is gate kept from Friday evening to Saturday evening leaving them with a day to attempt the raid before reset.
Contest mode seems to have outlived its purpose of “a fair raid race” when it is now so easy to be raid ready that it doesn’t need to exist to balance light anymore, put it in as a mode on day one that you can attempt and get the emblem from and that is also where the raid race happens. Then just let everyone who wants to just play the raid do it on normal.
I mean does the raid race even matter anymore it is essentially just a race between Datto’s team and Elysium.
If I had the time to I could easily do a raid on contest mode but lfg on day 1 is always full with players that don’t build toward survivability in the slightest. And then you have damage checks like warpriest.
On Saturday I was raiding until 5 in the morning... just please make it optional just so I can sleep bungie.

I’d be alright if Contest was available after the 24. I’ve made several attempts before, never finished but after clearing the raids, I would like a chance to give it a try.

1 ReplyYou literally get nothing from a Day 1 clear other than an emblem and bragging rights. I'm not really sure why people care about it so much.
