You need to stop with the artificial difficulty. By that, I mean stop giving bosses ridiculous amounts of health. Perhaps make day 1 raids difficult by just making difficult and complex mechanics (I understand the challenge of this with reprised raids, but I am speaking generally when it comes to your raids). The amount of health bosses have is the number one run stopper. That should not be the case. I’m not saying to make Day 1 raids easier, I’m saying to change where the difficulty lies. Because right now, it relies less on skill than it does how lucky you got with your heavy ammo drops. The “difficulty” should not be based around RNG. You need to address this.

1 ReplyIf Contest Mode is too difficult for you, just wait until Contest Mode is over and get your normal clear.

Skill issue

23 RepliesDay 1 raids are not for players. They're for streamers. For everyone else day one is today at reset 👍

2 Repliesunpopular opinion: the boss' beefy health bar is not artificial difficulty. optimizing and maximizing dps takes a lot of trial and error to perfect your build and your team's dps strat. it is a skill, and there's more to encounters than just learning mechanics. you need to learn ad spawns, which ads drop what, best weapons to use for certain situations, where to stand under which circumstances during dps. every dps phase that we fell short of that insurmountable wall that was the warpriest's health bar we learned little optimizations we could do to increase our damage and consistency. over hours of trying, failing, and learning, we finally broke through that wall. we never thought we'd be able to do that again, much less with a tighter timer in challenge mode. after even more hours of trial and error, build crafting, and optimizations, we somehow did it. the rush of moments like that are hard to come by, and while a little bit of warpriest was rng dependent, overall i think it was a great difficulty option that forced you to balance uncertain rng elements, ammo economies, enemy spawns/buff placements, and team coordination with the base mechanics of the encounter.

I find that if they want attempt to make it harder, they had champions. Which just turns it annoying.

Mad cause bad xD

3 RepliesCome on, bungie is not capable of making honest challenge, that’s why they nerf everything and have enemies that magically disappear right as the rocket reaches them.

They don't care dude this game has lost its way and it's just gotten worse and worse since D1. In D 1 we had the same problem it's even worse now. So go figure.

Can’t do the damage don’t get the clear.

This post could not be more wrong. But before you judge hear me out. First of all KF is a very mechanic heavy raid. And more mechanics were added to every single encounter except the opening. So right off the bat it had about the most mechanics in it that difficult. Then there is the dps checks. Let me give you a brief background. I did not get a VOW day 1. I spent 7.5 hours on tje boss and could not bring the dps. Final stand happened over and over and we couldn’t get it. Know what I did. I decided I would never be short on dps again. I chased the weapons I needed, the best dps builds, and generally made sure I was all set. So yesterday dps was not an issue. Not because it wasn’t hard. But bc we were ready for it. And my team that couldn’t het a day 1 VOW ended up with day 1 clear in 8 ho it s of play time (we started late and took a dinner break). Not bc we are pros but bc we decided dps wouldn’t stop us again. And one last thing. Why rely on heavy ammo. Immediately we recognized we needed a reliable source on WP so my edge warlocks started with aeons and hot swapped to lunis every single round. Heavy ammo everywhere and a reasonable dps. Now I don’t say all this for any personal recognition. It’s to point out that if you didn’t get a day 1 clear you only have yourself to blame. So now figure out what you need. This is what we ran 2 players on izi with bait and switch caty 1 divinity 3 players on stasis with font of might and reeds By the 4th phase he had almost nothing left. Which meant we had time to work the challenge mode and still get him easily. As with most things in life when I’m doubt look inward.

2 RepliesL Take, if you can’t dish out the damage, you don’t beat the raid.

Day one is not meant for patrol warriors

8 RepliesDay one raids have a serious problem, yes. And it's that they are entirely catered to streamers. A population of 0,001 % of the playerbase. So much wasted dev time for that tiny hardcore audience. You realize that raids in general are literally only touched by around 1 % of the entire playerbase ever right? So even raids in general are catered to a niche, hardcore audience. Wasting dev time on an even more hardcore experience is bonkers to me. Same goes with GM nightfalls and trials flawless. Those are the only activities with a worthwile loot chase and with a constantly updated loot pool. Bungie ltierally only seems to care about minorities of players. The opposite goes for the SBMM implementation. They ruined the fun for 80 % of the players to cater to new lights. This company is SO out of touch with their MAIN audience (shocker, your main playerbase is not streamers Bungie.)

1 ReplyDidn’t people complain that the day one raid was originally on the 27th but they changed it to Friday 26

I’ve never even attempted any raid on contest mode bc I have no dedicated team that’s willing to put the work in to prep for it, you’re not going to lfg contest mode and have a good time. You’re not good enough or your team isn’t good enough stop crying

43 RepliesEdited by zarfle: 8/27/2022 10:38:22 AMPossibly off topic but I’m also unimpressed with the number of “KWTD or get kicked” posts in Destiny lfg at the moment. How damn precious do people want to be. Take the time, teach the mechanics, make a new friend. Some ppl need to take a goddam chill pill.

17 RepliesI'd say they need to give you the choice to do contest mode or do it without. Day1 without contest mode will get you the day1 raid completion and all the things you get for that but disqualify you for world first. Now day1 with contest mode you get everything and have a chance to win world first and a guaranteed exotic for the completion.

You don't need luck with your heavy ammo drops you need team mates running aeons and getting finishers. Great heavy ammo economy.

6 Replies-blam!- people want literally everything handed to them on a silver plater lmao. Day 1 isn’t for everyone, I didn’t even complete day 1. I don’t have the time to dedicate to it. And ya know what? That’s okay lmao. But y’all want everything so dumbed down that it’s not challenging or rewarding in the least bit

1 ReplyThe only way we got day one down for oryx was by glitching the flag, for a contest mode that’s unacceptable to have to turn to glitches instead of just relying on in game mechanics. We also had to leave oryx encounter and relaunch because of numerous bugs, our warlock when dying in snow globe after being revived could no longer run, our hunter had stopped getting abilities like grenades etc…, a titan using duality had a bug where he could only reload one shot at a time in an increased reload fashion. Our second time getting to last stand as soon as the first bomb spawned the guy we had assigned d/cd out of the game entirely and we didn’t know until after it had wiped us. I get that day one raids are suppose to test us to the limit of our capabilities but when it’s not a fair manner or caused disabilities to flair up like my tinnitus at wiping in golgarath. There’s no reason to even compete in contest mode much less play the game at all. In my opinion because of all of the mechanics changes unlike we saw in vog, the day one emblem should be given to every guardian that completed a regular contest mode run of Kings fall on day one. We have probably 15 clips of bugs that we game clipped too for reference.

Pshah! Only way bungie knows to make thing challenging is over tuning mob AI. Rng wipes/mechanics , and buggy encounters. They hit on a thing w WQ campaign, but that , I think, was a one off

Clan Recovey seemed to do it fine
