3 RepliesBack in the first few years of D2 the community constantly complained that the Raids being released during the work week restricted access to it - with the majority of the population having to work Mon-Fri. It was also an issue to release the Raids so soon after the expansion release (the Saturday after the Tuesday release) because it restricted players that couldn't grind 24/7 from access to the new weapons, exotics, (and now) artifact mods - on top of making enjoying the rest of the content that was released with the raid impossible. Bungie agreed with this, & one of the big changes with the new "Bungie owned Destiny" was a new focus on the user's - changing the raid releases the the second Saturday after the expansion/season release. After four successful releases (GoS, DSC, VoG, Master VoG), Bungie had a buggy launch of VoW. Having a 80% successful launch rate was unsatisfactory for Bungie. They made the decision that rather than having their tech support work one Saturday every 6 months or hiring weekend tech support staff - that they would clean up this success rate by moving it back to the work week. As it turned out, this did nothing to solve the issues as King's Fall released with a ton of bugs & looking at the initial numbers it also killed the participation rates of users attempting the Day 1.

2 RepliesI completely agree. Not suitable for normal players. Day 1 should be open for all, contest mode should be a selectable option, instead of being sidelined and forced to watch illiterate morons spoil new stuff for the rest of us.

Good to see the "ree streamer bad" crowd is still active. Gotta love the classics.

absolutely garbage take lol

Lol downvote

7 RepliesAll he said was rename contest mode to streamer mode and look at you all loosing your minds. Oh here comes the we hate streamers people. Blah blah blah. What he said wasn't hateful more like truthful. People have these things called jobs. You know people have lives too? Probably news to you....

16 RepliesWeird, none of my team were streamers and we still got a challenge mode clear.

Edited by Meaga: 8/31/2022 4:28:16 AMI normally don’t see the purpose to get involved with these brainless anti-steamer/YouTuber posts but people with this opinion set seem to have some of the most pathetic mind sets that I’ve ever seen, this is embarrassing. I normally don’t go this far to defend some faceless internet figure however, I am very sick of this narrative. Thousands of people participate in the day one race, one race it wasn’t even a “streamer team” that one. What are you? A weirdo? Stop obsessing over other peoples achievements are careers like the lamest human on earth and get over yourself. You people are why the game sucks right now. It isn’t a “steamer mode”, contest actually exists to make the day one raid MORE FAIR FOR NORMAL PEOPLE. Streamers always have high light, playing the game is their job. They made their hobby a job, athletes do it ALL OF THE TIME. The obsession over streamers in the community is downright concerning. Like for the love of god stop talking about other people like you’re some side character in a crappy high school movie. *Ohhh I can’t do this raid day one, woah is me. Let me hamper on the success of others because I’m jealous and bitter. Yeah, that’ll teach them for being good at the game while I have no flawlesses, day one clears, or dungeon solos. That will show them for wanting to get good at this game!* Like it’s actually creepy how many of these posts that I see. You’re a joke if you think like this, especially over a video game. They want to put in time? Fine let them! It’s called being passionate about a hobby! Let people enjoy delving into their hobbies! Why do you care if someone gets a -blam!- emblem on a day one contest mode, a contest mode that is designed to make the raid race fair regardless of light grind time! That seems pretty anti “streamer” to me! Get help man seriously.

14 RepliesThis circle jerk thread of “I hate streamers” has gotta be one of the most pathetic posts I’ve seen in a while

2 Repliesyeah, wish bungie stopped artificial difficulty in raids at least. match game is horrible, especially if you don't have a good gun from every element and a dps with a good secondary element. also spamming champions in master mode is stupid, just remove champions from raids scourge of the past had special enemies that required 2 players to surround then shoot, that was actually fun, but dealing with 8-10+ champions in 1 room is stupid. why even is there a master version of king's fall? no idea but i'm not playing master content anymore.
-
another case of mad cuz i'm bad / my team is bad , so sad after day one raids go back to the tutorial mode the game is ,
-
11 Replies
^^
Your not lying. The whole game is centered around people who play it for a living now so sick of it
-
Edited by Grim: 8/29/2022 10:42:35 PMNot even close its hard content and streamers are try hards and sweats Their basically crackheads who never stop playing this game if you have an issue with that maybe you should try harder. Get good teammates and try to actually do better rather than whining about it like spoiled child.

36 RepliesHa! The entire game is already in streamer mode. That’s why it’s been failing the gamers for years now. The bulk of the true Destiny gamers left a long time ago when they catered the game to the streamers. Millions of them left the game. Now the only ones playing this broken game are the streamer/YouTube community and the stragglers that want to be streamers/YouTubers themselves, the would be future streamers. Don’t worry mate, this game is already in streamer mode a long time ago.
-
That would be pretty stupid, since contest mode was created specifically to eliminate streamers' advantages.

5 RepliesEdited by Gunship: 8/29/2022 1:37:51 AMWhile I actually watch some D2 'influencers'; FalloutPlays, CoolGuy, MyNameIsByf (lore), etc., I kinda wish Bungie didn't act like they were so important. Many of them advocate use of exploits and cheeses, and some have even been exposed live using hacks and aimbots (not the ones I mentioned of course).
-
10 RepliesNothing against streamers generally, although some of them I find very disingenuous, but I do think that receiving care packages and exclusive emblems from Bungie doesn’t help and leads to resentment, elitism, claims of preferential treatment etc. Would be nice if Bungie recognised some of their long-term players in a similar way…
-
Wait you had to stream to do the raid, dam guess I shouldn't have the emblem.
-
4 RepliesHaha half of you wouldnt know what was going on if you didnt have streamers and content creators to learn from lol
-
74 Replieswhy do people pile so much hate and misplaced blame on streamers?
-
Damn, guess I'm a streamer now.
-
Crazy man nobody on my team streams. We all work full time and still got the clear.
-
Dam, another bad player complaining that they couldn’t do something and blaming it on streamers for some reason
-
Pretty bad take IMO. The mode was available to everyone and was announced well in advance. Everyone had the same amount of time to prepare.

13 RepliesAgree but also kind of funny how Elysium beats it in just over an hour and the rest are left fighting for number two at best 🤣 Like 6 hrs later or more for losers like Datto still going at it like "herpa a derp, we lost but we won't quit bc reasons."
