More of Stormcaller's abilities need to benefit from Amplify

If Stormcaller is supposed to be centered around using Amplify to power up its abilities, then it should have more abilities that benefit from it. Chaos Reach should ramp up damage over time (up to 75% additional damage) during the Super if you activate it while Amplified. Stormtrance should be able to deal full ramped up damage if activated while Amplified (similar to Wavesplitter's ability from the Catalyst when you pick up an Orb of Power). While Amplified, Electrostatic Mind should either increase Jolt damage, build up and unleash a high damage Arc burst (something similar to Volatile or Ignite) on Jolted enemies you damage with Arc abilities, or blind Jolted enemies when you damage them with Arc Abilities. While Amplified, Arc Soul should count as a grenade, and trigger Grenade-centered Mods, Perks, and Abilities, including Spark of Shock. Lightning Surge should have increased distance, and generate additional lightning strikes, if activated while Amplified.

  • I really feel like it has to do with fragments if they had more synergy it would be better than just tanky near enemies or sliding over ammo

  • Homestly it feels like they almost ignored warlock 3.0 entirely with solar and arc because they were both already fine before overall compared to the other classes. The other classes got the biggest cha he's because they needed them, HOWEVER that doesn't mean that the warlock couldn't also receive changes and buffs like the others did. Yet they decided to just give a melee and call it even.

      Yes they do need to work more with amplify. That's literally the whole point of the warlocks arc design. Chaos reach should get geomag behavior when amplified then they can change geomags to SHORTEN its duration for faster but similar total damage. The arc grenades should just jolt while amplified. That was part of their original kit so give it back, let titans and hunters wear the fragment if they want to do the same thing. Empower the melee aspect to have some additional effect but I'm not sure what it does exactly at this moment. Amplify should enhance stormcallers ramp up cap and decrease ionic blink cost. Stuff like this.

      • Amplify should be the transcendence perk for stormcallers. Increased damage for chaos reach and being amplified and getting kills refills the timer same way devour refills the timer on kills. If warlocks are supposed to be all about being amplified then I need an actual reason to be amplified other than a brain dead speed boost and a small boost to melee and grenades.

      • My main issue is that Amplify essentially does nothing for you besides make you run faster. Big whup. Can it actually Amplify your characters kit? Maybe faster ability regeneration, enhanced chaing effects, damage buff (apparently jolt debuffs target like void weaken to some extent) more health or damage reduction in super maybe? Heck pair Amplify with Geomags for the old sprint to generate super energy.

        • Most of your suggestions are just flat damage increases which is problematic for 2 reasons. The first being Arc Locks have an insane amount of up time with it's abilities. The second being you do not need to equip anything to get amplified and Warlocks are effectively always amplified. Which makes the base versions of the abilities kind of pointless in pve which we don't want. I do however like and am okay with making arc soul trigger grenade mods and perks. The devs can't really have Amplify effect the behavior of grenades purely because you'd be effecting the grenades on other classes. It only interacting with melee's and soul prevents that from happening.

            Yup. My getaway artist build feels exactly the same as before, but with landfall gutted. I had near 100% arc soul/rift uptime before, at I have the same uptime now, nerfed ionic traces make no difference. Trading landfall damage for an in-super-only blink was not a good deal. They should have made landfall a separate high damage one and done shutdown super, similar to d1 titan smash, but with seekers not pure aoe. They obviously had amplified doing a lot more at some point and then dialed it way back. No other reason they would say warlocks “are all about being amplified” when it just makes you run faster, the same benefits as all other classes. I guess it was too late to re-record that segment.

          • Not really? Like yeah, Chaos Reach needs work. But the bonus power from being Amplified does quite a bit considering how frequent you get Ionic Traces to keep blasting your abilities out. And I thought Arc Buddy does activate Grenade-centric perks?

            • I don’t necessarily agree with the specific suggestions you mentioned, but the overall idea is the only thing I think arc warlocks necessarily should get as a buff of sorts. As people have demonstrated already, there are ways to make builds for Stormcaller that have absolutely no additional interaction with being Amplified, despite them posing it as a unique quirk for warlocks. Basically I just think pretty much all warlock abilities should get an added effect while Amplified.
