In my opinion, this is actually a better rework than Dawnblade 3.0. Being amplified is super addicting and Warlocks being able to achieve it very easily is quite fun. But there’s two problems I have with the class.
Both supers are lacking. In Ketchcrash, not the hard version, orange bar enemies can spawn there and I used Stormtrance against them. It took me a couple of seconds to kill them with Trance. That doesn’t feel good. And Chaos Reach has you hanging in the air for too long for the little amount of damage you do in it. I found myself preferring to just cut the super and switch to my weapons.
It lacks survivability. Shadebinder has DR on freezing targets and is VERY good at freezing. Dawnblade can use restoration and cure. Voidwalker has devour. Stormcaller doesn’t really have anything, nothing as potent as those. For a subclass about “holding W”, you gotta give me something to help me survive doing that. And for the claim that being amplified “powers us up” for Warlocks, I was really hoping it was more than just our melee abilities.
Still, decent rework. I’m having a blast with it and it feels very different from other subclasses, which I love, but I don’t really see myself wanting to use this in anything harder than Legend. Right now, it feels more like a PvP class.
Edit: Folks are telling me that orange bar enemies are usually pretty tanky anyway. Alright, fair. But Trance does still struggle in even Legend content. And for firing a big, loud laser out of one hand, an attack that leaves you immobile and potentially vulnerable, I don’t feel like Gohan. I feel like Krillin.

I think all the 3.0 classes are handicapped by the seasonal mod setup like all the crazy "builds" we get half the time feel like they should've been intrinsic to a class be it as a fragment or aspect or just to increase viability for said subclass for everyone as soon as a season ends a subclass's viability can tank with said absence which doesn't make sense at all.

9 RepliesHard L take. This is just the beginning of Arc 3.0, everybody said the exact same thing about Warlocks getting shafted in Void 3.0 first week, then the same thing for Solar 3.0 and now most people consider them massive successes.
-
It needs to benefit more from Amplify. Chaos Reach should ramp up damage over time (up to 75% additional damage) during the Super if you activate it while Amplified. Stormtrance should be able to deal full ramped up damage if activated while Amplified (similar to Wavesplitter's ability from the Catalyst when you pick up an Orb of Power). While Amplified, Electrostatic Mind should either increase Jolt damage, build up and unleash a high damage Arc burst (something similar to Volatile or Ignite) on Jolted enemies you damage with Arc abilities, or blind Jolted enemies when you damage them with Arc Abilities. While Amplified, Arc Soul should count as a grenade, and trigger Grenade-centered Mods, Perks, and Abilities, including Spark of Shock. Lightning Surge should have increased distance, and generate additional lightning strikes, if activated while Amplified.

That's my biggest gripe , the lack of survivability compared to the previous 3.0 additions ie , void and solar. Going fast is fun yeah but in a fairly small area or master lost sector or gm it's not gonna keep you alive. The Warlock arc supers have always been average tbf, tickle fingers has always been an add clear super but chaos reach and Geomags have been nerfed to ground over the Las couple of years. It would have been nice to see a aspect or if they was feeling really generous a fragment that extends chaos a bit,, so we don't have to run an exotic to achieve it. That way we could run one that complements our abilities. I must be honest Arc 3.0 has slightly grown on me over the last couple of days, it's fun but will I run it for end game activities I doubt it very much.

1 ReplyEdited by RockNotABoulder: 8/25/2022 6:14:03 PM3.0 wouldn’t suck as much if a decent amount of exotics got a buff/rework. It’s annoying to basically only have 1 or 2 viable options for builds. While other exotics are literally filler. Like seriously, why did Vesper of Radius not get a buff/change???

5 RepliesEdited by Daemon White: 8/26/2022 1:02:38 AMI think of all the classes that are about Hold W in Arc, Warlock is the one who doesn't. You have the best utility out of sitting back more and generating Ionic Traces like the absolute generator you are. While the other 2 morons are out the diving and weaving / charging like a MF freight train, you're being smart and pooping out abilities like they're going out of style since basically anything you do gives an Ionic Trace back.

3 RepliesOk I’ve seen so many of these posts, maybe the issue is you guys don’t like playing warlock, it is a support class, it clears adds well and heals itself and it’s allies, it isn’t and never has been high damage oriented, if you don’t like that it takes 1 hour and a half to level a second character of a different class, just transfer your guns over and then grind blues in a quick playlist. Infuse into your legendaries and done.

1 Replyneed pulswave and other perks that have been removed added back on storm

Nah dude you're right, regardless of what others say. The speed boost also cuts burst glide and cancels it, slowing us down even more while in the air so hold w was a bad way for bungie to advertise it. As my warlock I used arc for a few hours and then switched back to my void and solar subs while rotating activities. The arc 3.0 is pointless and has no place in destiny to be viable for anything above hero level. Legend, master, GM, raids, all still void nova for dps or radiance for healing and dps. Arc is worthless for warlocks for sure

2 RepliesNo it dont need a buff this is blatantly a skill issue i been able to drop 40+ bombs in pvp with every arc 3.0 class so far with 0 effort at all arc 3.0 warlock dont need a buff at all now MAYBE the dmg in pve can get a buff sure but thats all i’ll give you arc 3.0 is fair if anything needs to be changed saying this as a titan/hunter main(love all 3 classes but these 2 i play my best at) titans need to be toned down there boost needs the gamblers dodge cooldown and also juggernaut shouldn’t protect you from sniper headshots and should have a slower start up time thats it tho everything else in arc 3.0 is perfectly fine and tbh id argue warlocks have the best synergy with loadouts because of how easy to use stormcaller is def the most brain dead of the 3 roaming supers it has great range landfall activates quicker then slam has better movement then all 3 because of ionic blink and landfall does enough dmg to kill supers if not our right kill them a few ticks and there dead the super is fine and the class itself is perfectly fine the melee teleport thing is a very nice touch arc souls are still very easy chip damage and on top of that rifts are still great tools for peak shooting so no i 1000000% disagree
-
2 RepliesOh this was mainly in pve mb im mainly a pvp player so seeing stuff like this my mind immediately goes to how it will effect the crucible but yea i do agree that stormcaller and chaos reach could both use a dmg and DR buff by about 8-9% each respectively
-
The orange bar vandals are actually really tanky. Synthoceps with knockout takes like 3-4 melees to kill them. That's 30k each melee.
-
Are you guys not doing blinding effects?
-
From what I saw, make sure you jolt an enemy before using the super. It should increase damage. But overall they both do need a slight buff.
-
The problem isn't Arc, it's Stasis. Which does not need to kill to take an enemy out of a fight. That makes it better than a DoT which is what Stormcaller is. You can't compare them. It's the same problem Scorch and Ignite has. If the DoT doesn't freeze the opponent, they can STILL shoot you as their health ticks down. Ignites' problem is how it's single target on the first blast, which MAY or MAY NOT take out anything reasonably close by.

Edited by vl EVIL DEAD lv: 8/25/2022 5:48:23 PMI agree the class needs a better ability for healing/buffing or restoration, but what it lacks in that, 3.0 certainly makes up for with lightning fast movements. We may not have well or op stuff like that, but im getting quite used to lightning surge pretty quickly. Might not be able to buff my team with stuff but turning into a ball of lightning and re materializing into a lightning storm, and being able to do it seconds later, disgusting.supers are lacking though. On off switch for stormtrance would be insane especially since tempests makes it feel like an eternity sometimes lol
-
1 ReplyUse the arc helmet....your super runs damn near permanently. Always forget the name....tempest crown...one that buffs duration and damage.
-
12 RepliesWarlock is broken this season idk wtf you are talking about.

9 RepliesNot enough survivability? LMAO I used Chaos Reach all day yesterday while grinding out the last few Containments I needed for Reaper, and I was using Reach as an emergency healing, a damage pause button. I’d be so low that I’d know trying Rift would kill me before it came up, so I’d Chaos Reach and it stuns pretty much anything it blasts initially, so it’d give me time for my recovery to activate.

Arclock 3.0 in a nutshell fun but not a endgame changer sadly ,also the orange bars for ketcrusher or whatever are buffed so they got bigger HP pools or resilience

Being amped is supposed to give damage reduction but is currently bugged on both Warlock and Titan. If it was working properly you might feel safer in chaos reach. I agree that Storm trance needed a bigger buff against major enemies. I'm kind of on the fence about buffing Chaos reach damage. As it stands Jolt is a debuff for other arc abilities specifically. You can already combine that with Geomags for really strong damage. I think the reason why amplify only effects your melee and arc soul is because it might've been too difficult to code it in such a way that it wouldn't also buff the nades on the other 2 classes. Though if that were the case they could've also somehow figured out a way to make amplify effect warlock's supers. Then again...Warlocks are the one's that seemingly have 100% up time with Amplify. I don't know about the other classes.
