I'm going to try pvp today, but it's not looking good for acr locks in pve as of yet. First thing I tried was a fun build, karnstein armless + new melee+arc well mods+ worldlines zero. I knew it probably wasn't going to be that potent, but I had to take worldline off, that thing needs a buff. The build itself was lackluster and and very clunky even with MonteCarlo.
Then I tried Crown, getaway artist, veritys brow, AND stormdancers. I was in a containment of the leviathan mostly by myself so I could see how the new arc does against trash mobs (it's intended matchup), and guys.....it really kind of just sucks. Tempest doesn't return as much anymore outside of the super, ionic traces are sucky and warlocks get them just as often as everyone else (for some reason in my mind I thought locks would at least excel making them.).
Arc souls are really bad to me, even in 2.0 I thought they sucked outside of pvp, nothing has really changed now. They should've made them chain lighting on hit when amplified or SOMETHING, as of now they struggle to kill anything higher than a drug, thrall, or dog. (I'm kind of confused to what the changes to getaway artist did exactly, it certainly didn't make the soul stronger.)
As for the super....... jeez lmaoo. Even with stormdancers, stormtrance is just so bad it's not even funny. I haven't tried a build with coas reach yet, but I'm guessing it's going to be the same.
Even with the new fragments we haven't tried yet I'm struggling to see how any of this can be viable in endgame content. I was struggling to kill anything yet void I have no issues AND more survivability. Plus I can actually use different exotics. For arc 3.0 it feels like I'm stuck using tempest......AGAIN.
I heard hunter and titan are pretty decent I guess.
(Update) pvp was okay, arc buddies are too inconsistent and can't hit shiz though. Le monarque can be a nasty 2 shot combo with arc buddies sometimes.
And for survivability in pve you should run a solar energy helmet with the mod "heal thyself" + the mod that makes you charged with light x2 from picking up wells. You get health back per grenade kill as long as you're charged with light. Rock that with any mod that spawns wells consistently and you have a heal as long as you have a grenade and something to kill. I don't think it'll make much difference in harder content but it's soemthing.

48 RepliesYou can tell who they spent more time on for sure. It is the same issue with Solar.
-
1 ReplyI saw a Warlock pop his super in PvP the other day and everyone around him just shot him. They had no fear. Pretty funny, but in a sad way.
-
2 RepliesI was gonna come on here (forums) and make this same post. When I saw your title and read what you had to say... EXACTLY how I felt last night. I even went on youtube and searched for Warlock Arc 3.0 builds and there was no shortage of "BRoKeN WaRLoK aRC 3.0" builds. I tried like three of them and they played clunky and slow and only decent at best for killing red bars. PERIOD I am a big fan of arc souls so I was excited to try one of the builds with getaway artist and then saw that those arc buddies aint killing nothing. Waste so much time in the charge animation (felt like I was doing that the whole time). pew pew pew I never really used chaos reach before so popped it on the wellspring boss and it hardly moved his health bar and was over in like two seconds LOL My warlock was an invincible Solar 3.0 terror just 24 hours prior. Now I know there are things to unlock with the seasonal artifact but what a huge dissapointment. And shame on all you ppl propping up this arc warlock. Play something other than public events on the EDZ

I was most excited for Arc 3.0 on my Warlock out of any of the builds but yeah... this is pretty meh...

1 ReplyI have to agree. Arc 3.0 for warlocks is just off. I messed around with a few builds and just dosent seem good. Messed around with stormtrance and chaos reach builds and both are pathetic. Even with geomag chaos reach just seems so weak. Maybe thats just me. With what they did to us for solar and now arc, it seems bungie dosent either care about warlocks(hell new exotic looks pathetic compared to new hunter and titan exotics) or just dosent know what to do with them. Sad really. My fav class to. Hunter and Titan had some thought put into them. New abilities and such. When i get home from work ill be switching back to Void for my warlock and than switch to Arc Titan. Thanks Bungie for making gutting solar and arc for warlocks
-
3 RepliesI've run all 3 of my characters (Titan, Hunter, Warock) through and I completely agree. Arc for warlocks is a major turn off. One of my friends whose a warlock main likely is done with Destiny after the Solar 3.0 Nerfs and now Arc being a waste.
-
1 ReplyAs someone who does master raids and gms I can say without a doubt I won't be using Arc.
-
1 ReplyI feel frustrated with arc 3.0 as well playa. I feel the kit is bad with no real identity and if bungie wanted arc classes to feel like "Hold the W key" class they missed it with warlocks. im just gonna go back to void/stasis in pvp. in pve just try to make it work if its the burn or having an arc kit helps with alot of shielded enemies.

1 ReplyCompared to Void 3.0 and solar 3.0, Arc 3.0 and this season are a huge disappointment to me. None of the arc fragments look that great and there’s no arc armor ornament set. That took the wind out of my sails. Bungie needs to rethink how seasons are structured and mix things up. I’m getting tired of a season consisting of: 1) 6 man activity 2) 3 man activity 3) weekly story time gated 4) IB & trials 5) same weekly triumphs 6) same group of triumphs that require grinding the crap out of 1 and 2 This season is literally the same as last season with a new skin. All the good armor is in the eververse. The new armor set is pointless. I already paid for and played the crap out of Kings Fall 5 years ago and I guarantee they won’t have the cool Rise of Iron armor ornaments because they didn’t for VoG. It’s starting to wear thin.
-
Whaaaaaaat.. noooooo how could this happen.😨 There's NO way bungie would EVER fúck up ANOTHER subclass rework for warlocks. It's impossible. If only we had some sort of warning..
-
1 ReplyGetaway artist is good man idk U probably haven't tried enough. Its the only exotic where you can instantly be amplified (even pvp). And surprisingly, pair it with flash grenade (for crowd control) + jolt grenade fragment (lol it makes your flash grenade actually kill enemies incase). Best build out of arc synergy i could think of. But yeah arc is really poor in terms of synergy with anything or any teammates. It takes so much to build into to just survive solo dungeon runs with it and still barely keeps u alive.
-
1 ReplyAnyone having fun with their arc titan? didn't try it in PVP but PvE feels bad, that whole thunderclap thing is better at being a meme than a clap
-
2 RepliesI like the arc 3.0 for warlocks.
-
3 RepliesAs a Titan main, I went back to being a shield throwing galant knight of Light.
-
8 RepliesYou think its bad because you dont main Warlock. Warlocks have always been the support character that has the abillity to do damage. So when you run it a a pure DPS character you will fail.
-
2 RepliesStormtrance can barely kill an underleveled yellow health servitor. It's just the rotten cherry on top of the crap pie.
-
They should've went all in on the stellar new Melee ability, increasing the damage and adding an extra detonation while amped, and an Exotic to cause it to Blind non Guardian enemies and heal you when damaging enemies with it so you can embrace the head on playstyle.
-
3 RepliesGetaway Artist is basically the Arc Soul aspect in glove form so you can use all 3 at the same time. Warlocks get Ionic Traces FAR more often than the other classes. While yes, they all have access to the Traces fragment, you get the most out of it because Traces keep you amplified every time you get one. You also generate traces whenever you get an ability kill and whenever you get a kill on an enemy that is Arc-Blinded or Jolted. So there's this other fragment, Spark of Beacons. - Final Blows using an Arc Special Weapon while Amplified will Blind nearby enemies And you get Ionic Traces from killing Blinded enemies.
-
7 RepliesWhen all the fragments are out it should be fine, I noticed it does not play into the movement part of arc as they mentioned , I'm still sitting back throwing grenades, the new melee is almost suicide but is fun if you can winters guile up. Also is electrostatic mind bugged it says killing jolted and targets with abilities generates traces but I could kill 5 enemies and only get one trace.
-
2 RepliesHere we go again... Solar 3.0 all over again. Thinking you can get a buff that you don't need just because warlocks complain in masses the most.
-
13 RepliesAs Warlock main I disagree I love it so far if build right Btw new exotic helmet is busted
-
For pve I'm enjoying it but for pvp I'm struggling to enjoy it. The melee gets me killed 99% of the time (probably part user error but may be wrong) and with arc web given to all classes its far weaker and doesn't regen you grenade. I dont know 3.0 feels like a net loss for solar and arc for warlocks while void was a net positive.
-
5 RepliesIt’s super fun to play in pve, BUT end game content it doesn’t seem viable at all. The nerf to ionic traces is huge, 40% energy return nerf and no more super energy refunded. To top it off, chaosreach is one of the worst dps supers in the game. Not sure how we went from “it’s super strong and it’s gonna break the game, and I think that’s awesome” during the forsaken reveal to this thing. Make that arc subclass stronger with a buff to chaos reach damage and I think it’ll be okay

Edited by Soul_Eater_42: 8/25/2022 5:29:59 AMYeah, Stormcaller is just ass. I see no reason to use it outside of what I previously used it for: completing Strikes during Arc week for the Pinnacle. They could have done so much more with it. Buff the Supers, or at the very least, have Amplify boost their damage. Have Amplify apply Jolt to Arc Soul instead of making it a Sentient Arc Soul (leave that function to Getaway Artist). Have Electrostatic Mind buff Jolt damage, or cause a high damage burst of Arc energy when you damage a Jolted enemy, while you're Amplified. Have the lightning strikes from Lightning Surge last longer when you use the ability while Amplified. If Amplify is supposed to be a central part of Stormcaller, then it should have a bigger role than just slightly enhancing 3 lackluster abilities.
-
Honestly I have stopped using arc and lost interest in the season as a warlock.

Edited by vl EVIL DEAD lv: 8/25/2022 8:04:35 PMGet used to lightning surge, buff the hell out of your melee regen, and there are wayyyy better weapons for synergy than monte. Im so loaded up i cant decide between riskrunner, trespasser, arsenic bite, forbearance and delicate tomb. And heavy stays thunderlord now. Im both amped and charged with light literally at ALL TIMES now its insane to just run off a cliff while amped and know youre gonna make insane leaps now. Its not as crazy as id hoped or anyone hoped after seeing what the new solar and void builds do. But i can work with this. Im gonna say early on its all about lightning surge as of now.. you can chain some pretty decent suff together with it
