So I have never been taught/explained what the whole purpose of creating elemental wells and what there actual purpose is for etc... I have decided to not be just content with my certain load outs anymore due to not knowing what certain things do and finally learn and be able to up my gaming as well. As help my fireteam out as best as possible... anyone can help me or explain??

Here one my characters but it does change. Helmet... Well of Life. I get health regeneration for each orb. Its timed at 10sec Arms... Bountiful Wells. I get 2 orbs instead of 1 Legs... Explosive Well Maker. Get a orb with grenades, hammer strike, Rocket Launcher Class... Elemental Armaments. I get a orb with my mini tool. So that's 4 orbs in 1 sitting which will give me health and refresh all abilities. I do sometimes swap to seeking Wells and Font of Wisdom for super regeneration. Not going to list everyone because it will take to long. Hover over them

It literally tells you what it does But as a quick explanation By default grabbing a well of the same element as your subclass will give energy in grenade,melee and class ability grabbing a well not matching will only give energy to the lowest of the 3 There mods to help you create wells,some that buff the well and others that give you buff while grabbing wells They are honestly a great build if you want to spam ability and wells aren't shared so making a well will give it to you and your allies The elemental well will be by default the same subclass as you unless stated differently like explosive well maker will always be solar

Elemental wells can serve mainly 2 different purposes. First, to allow for better ability spam, or to make you charged with light with elemental charge. When you run over an elemental well that’s the same energy type of your subclass, it gives back ability energy for your grenade, melee and class ability. If it’s a different energy type, for example you pick up a void elemental well and your on an arc subclass you will only get class ability energy. Two very Common elemental well mods that are fairly widely used include melee well maker (makes a well on a melee kill) and grenade well maker (makes a well on a grenade kill). There are ways to make specific elemental wells too, something like reaping wellmaker will make a void elemental well on a weapon kill after you use your class ability. Most elemental well builds that aim to make you charged with like are all stasis builds since stasis is a bit of a hassle to make wells with. Grenade and melee wellmaker don’t really work since enemys shatter and aren’t actually getting killed by a grenade or melee. Only hunter stasis’ shurikens work with melee wellmaker, it’s the only melee that will consistently kill enemy’s. I’ll use my osmiomancy stasis warlock build as an example since it’s simple, good jn all difficulties of content and it’s the build that pretty much everyone runs if they use osmio stasis warlock. People normally run elemental shards to make stasis shards count as an elemental well, elemental charge to make you charged with like after picking up a stasis shard, and the firepower mod. Firepower is a charged with light mod that gives back around half your grenade whenever your charged with light, and osmiomancy already gives back half your grenade whenever you freeze an enemy, so you now have an infinite grenade loop. One quick thing to note, all mods that actually create elemental wells including elemental shards have an internal cooldown of around 6 seconds. Guess we would be too powerful if we could just make an infinite amount of wells

They give you ability energy compareble with orbs, then you use combat style mods that are using the wells you pick up.
