Remind me again why we don't have an all black shader in D2?
We had one in D1. It was called Super Black. It looked GREAT. We have so many colorful / bright / glowy / sparkly shaders. C'mon Bungie please. At least throw it in as a pre-order bonus for Lightfall. PLEASE.

They've kept making it more and more grey because it blends into the background making it nearly impossible to see. That may be why destiny has yet to add an all black shader.

we do have Abyssian Gold, its all black but with a small brownish tint to it. we also have Rivalry Blacksand which depending on what you're wearing CAN make you all black (same with New Age Black Armory), Amethyst Veil I have yet to find ANY piece of armor for all three classes where the white shows, I've always only seen it make me look all black with a neon Purple glow.

If we did get a superblack style shader in D2, it would mostly go on my guns rather than armor. I like a nice clean look to a weapon. Sure we have ones like Carbon Blood, Bloody Tooth and Midnight Talons but the glossy effects on them can sometimes be a bit overpowering in bright environments

It looked GREAT.[/quote] Everything looked great in D1, not just shaders. All of the AoT armor and ornaments were top tier. The infinite lines mask with the FWC hologram, the devouring maw, the IB armor looked way better. Not to mention the armor was actually symmetrical. But yeah, the superblack shader was great too. The main person who designed the armor and shaders in D1 now works at Squanch. Unfortunate.

I know this isn't the answer you want but best I can do. There are no all black shaders but you'll find certain shaders on certain pieces come out all black. You just gotta dig through them til you find one. Good luck

1 ReplyI'd like to know - why some pieces of armor shade completely wrong? I used a shader that is mainly black and white on legs from Duality - the cloth part became golden?!?! How the FFFF?! I don't get that colour with that shader on any other piece of gear I've got. Insane. This happens with many other armor pieces and different shaders. Constantly sth weird happens.
