Since Mars is back can we have all the Mars PvP maps back?

1 ReplyEdited by GalaxySpider: 8/19/2022 7:09:16 AMIt's a small asset which is attached to the location of Savathuns Dreadnought, from a technical view. Therefore Mars isn't really back at all. It's still vaulted and deleted from the game unless Bungie decides to rework certain maps and the assets engine upgrades which happened with Beyond Light.

6 RepliesEdited by Demon_XXVII: 8/19/2022 12:55:29 AMThere was absolutely no reason for Bungie to take away these ‘Maps’ due to their “locations” being sunset Crucible is simulated - we don’t actually go to the physical planets/moons etc to fight on them It’s all in a controlled simulation Thus, they should easily be available for “training purpose”

4 RepliesUnless there is a technical reason they can’t come back, they should. Really not sure why the PvP maps needed to be removed anyways. It’s not like it was a hard rule. We still play on Mercury and the infinite forest, and Titan. Plus we lost maps on earth, or at least one map. I’d like to see more of Mars come back if they can do something interesting with it. Not just make it as though it never left. New activities, maybe rework escalation protocol a bit so it isn’t exactly like we remember, but still challenging enough you could fail it if you don’t know what you’re doing (unlike Containment). My theory is that next season the story will be about Anna and Rasputin, with the raid being Wrath of the Machine. I’m which case we could get either the plague lands or D2 mars patrol area back where the seasonal activity and story takes place. Or this season will be about Xivu and involve the Dreadnaught patrol area for the new seasonal story and activity, with King’s Fall Raid coming back. Those are my theories. We have 4 more days to see which is right. Maybe none, because we get the Crota Raid and no returning patrol area. But for one reason, and one reason only I kind of want if Mars patrol area and Rasputin story is coming, I want it in season 19, and not next season. We already know what the seasonal mods are, and I want a seasonal mods that makes Warmind cells fun and powerful again.

I’d say just bring back a few good ones from the DCV. There are plenty of maps on planets that aren’t there anymore and we even have a lore reasoning for it. - Meltdown - Solitude - Legion’s Gulch - Firebase Echo (more of a meme but a fun hectic map).

1 ReplyI miss Escalation Protocol on Mars and i remember the search for the mighty Ikelos shotgun most people wanted. Midnight Coup, Ikelos and Whisper of the Worm was once one of my fav loadouts, but times change. Maybe it was just my luck, but i got a lot of world drop exotics from Escalation Protocol now that i think about it and probably more than any other place in the game since then.

I imagine that we probably could! I mean we still have maps from locations such as Titan and Mercury, so I feel like the Mars ones can come back.
