based on what I read Arc 3.0 warlock FEELS underwhelming, I do not know and am not claiming it is because it has not dropped. But overall ehh we shall see.

1 ReplyYou haven’t even seen the artifact and your already complaining, we have had some of the best arc artifact mods in the past that made arc insanely good, I for one think there brining back the volatile conduction mod! Calling it from rn

1 ReplyBut arc soul... Arc soul is boring and was tbe moment it dropped in D2, now that thing is gonna be the best ability arc warlocks have to offer, it seems. Pretty damn boring when you factor in the fact the other two classes are gonna be zooming around with their cool melee abilities, yet another overshield for titans to abuse and -blam!- tonnes of blinding from hunters. The other two sound more fun in PvP and PvE once again, just like the last two 3.0 updates.

Arc Warlock is the most "sure-thing" of the 3. All these new abilities sound good, but we really don't know anything about them. Most of the already strong Warlock abilities got buffed, so we know they'll be in a good place regardless.

extremely underwhelming and its already set in stone until 2 months down the line for tuning changes.. this sucks..

9 RepliesWarlocks were supposed to be ability based class. Yet all they do is give titans and hunters endless ability spam while warlocks have to jump through 2x as many hoops to achieve half the results. I'm glad I didn't get my hopes up with arc after the sh!tshow that was solar.
-
How can it feel underwhelming if you haven't played it yet? "Sounds" underwhelming is more fitting.
-
8 RepliesThat’s what everyone said about void and solar 3.0 🙄
-
Warlock, across the board, have been underwhelming for ages...

I'm hoping we see perpetual charge show up. Maybe as the seasonal exotic or something. That would make me VERY happy.

We wo t know until we try. Try it for a 3-5 days, then judge.

2 RepliesArc lock has always been a great subclass
remember, top tree got nerfed because the win rate with them was too high ☺️☺️
Even then, I think combining the right fragments and aspects will make warlocks the underdog of this update, we just have to wait and see what happens next week
-
But you don’t know how it feels. Because we haven’t got it yet.
-
Compared directly to Hunters/Titans your correct, Warlocks on paper look really underwhelming. Will that statement be true? Impossible to tell until we get our hands on the changes

3 RepliesIt’s difficult to say right now. We only know about a handful of fragments, so hopefully the Fragments we don’t know about will be able to preserve the original power fantasy of the Stormcaller. HOWEVER, I really don’t like the approach that Bungie has taken to both the Solar and Arc subclass revamps in general. I think Bungie is too scared of Class-exclusive abilities. For example: Healing grenades were exclusive to the Solar Warlocks. That gave Warlocks a unique ‘Healer’ identity. Why do the other Classes need access to it? To Bungie’s credit, Warlocks are still the best healers, but now they are not the only healers. They were also the only Solar Class that could grant a significant weapon damage boost to themselves and allies, now Hunters can do that better and don’t even need a fragment to do it. The chained explosions from bottom tree Solar Lock was removed and reworked into scorch/ignite, which every class now has access to. Now every class has access to Ionic traces and chain lightning. Those were exclusive to Arc Warlocks. Why do the other Classes need it? The Arc Warlock identity is indeed the “unlimited power” of Emperor Palpatine. WHY DO THE OTHER CLASSES NEED IT??? What happened to the exclusivity of certain abilities??? That’s exactly what gave each Class their identity! They were not made the same because if they have too much in common, you don’t have DISTINCT, UNIQUE Classes to choose from. I’m fine with Blink coming back to Arc Hunters since they originally had access to it in D1, and it finally is getting buffed (I don’t think that’s a coincidence).

I was a huge fan of arc warlock in D1. I've been really put off with it since D2 launched. Even the new tree from forsaken still felt lackluster. I've been looking forward to an arc rework for a long long time. I'm hoping it is a little more impactful than it sounds on paper. I have a feeling like the speed booster like thing with amplify will be way better than people are expecting.

I take it that you already play tested Arc 3.0 and this is your conclusion ?
-
this defiantly requires testing it when it comes out
-
1 ReplyI think Warlock will be alright. Amping abilities into better versions isn’t something to be slept on. We’ll just have to see once it’s out.
-
I’m actually rerolling my main from titan to warlock next season
-
2 RepliesPeople were underwhelmed by Renewal Grasps on paper too… Let that sink in

Edited by The Hermit IX: 8/18/2022 12:00:22 AMI think it will be much better than some here think. It’s the only class that receives buffs through amplified. Stronger grenades, melee and arc souls are intrinsic to Warlock. So we regenerate ability, move faster and have better handling like everyone else but our abilities become stronger. They combined Storm Caller so we have both blink and land fall on the super. No aspects, fragments or change of class ability needed. We all know what happened to Dawn Blade. We have what sounds like a one hit kill ability in PVP. Being amplified makes us faster and slide faster/quicker. So lightning surge sounds like easy one hit kills. Someone correct me but we have never had that type of melee for one shot kills. Strength builds might be really good. In general I’m looking at Arc 3.0 and feeling we aren’t going to have sacrifice class ability or use fragments to create a strong and intrinsic build but instead will be strengthening it or adding to it with fragments. I think Getaway Artist will be strong both in PVE and PVP with constant double and buffed Arc Souls and an ability that will be one of the first thing people cry about. My 2 cents. I’m looking forward to trying it out. If I’m wrong I’ll be back to take my lumps. I think it will work well and it really seems to be thought out compared to solar and what happened to dawn blade.

I’ll definitely agree that it seems like they took a lot of stuff from the Warlock kit and gave it to Hunter and Titan with only a couple minor changes to Warlock
-
It will depends on fragment and how good the arc debuff and the overcharged or whatever its called works since they seem to be able to proc them really easily Arc 3.0 seemed more interesting to me ...even tho warlock arc super are always been on the weaker side ...and needs exotics to make them decent

1 Replyits trash.. we just get a teleport melee almost similar to that titan ice punch.. warlocks are getting screwed over again..
