Don't make us regrind weapons for an origin trait
Just give all non-sunset weapons origin traits. We shouldn't have to regrind for these weapons if we already have the rolls we want.
For example: all the dares weapons and iron banner weapons we've already acquired. Just stick the origin trait on them.

Unfortunately we will have to regrind dares if we want the origin traits. This was confirmed on a YouTube interview. Seen it earlier today. I hope the void sword has had a drop rate increase

Good ol Destiny 2. Its always 7 steps forward and 77 back with Bungie. I bet theyll make you regrind for those weapons. Got to keep player retention up as much as they can, otherwise the game would crash and burn. The best way to do that? Repetitive grinding. What a shame.

I agree i over 1000 crucible kills on my eager edge sword and dont want to re grind cause now i can get an origin perk.

I dunno about you, but i know i wont regrind them. I dont need a gun with an origin perk. Mine still work just fine.

LoL either way… no way in hell I regrind those dare weapons. It’s an origin trait. It won’t make or break the weapon.

26 RepliesAs much as re-grinding weapons is annoying, i dont really understand the larger reasoning behind it, isnt the grinding of weapons one of the foundations of this games content loop? I get people hate grinding but when it comes situations like this either: the new versions wont be a big enough upgrade to justify re-grinding it of you’re old version is a good roll, or the new versions are better than the old ones, in both cases the choice to grind them is entirely your own surely

When they add an origin trait to these weapons for the first time it needs to be added to our current weapons. When they add a new one to weapons with an already existing one I can understand there being a process to get them. Quest or whatever to upgrade a weapon. Expecting people to farm a 1/21000 roll again just to update an origin trait is silly. Right now no one cares cuz most origin traits suck. When we start getting more n more game changing better ones it becomes a serious problem. They will keep escalating how good they are to keep doing soft sunsets.

Bungie sunsetting weapons without limiting their power level so you won't actually think it's sunsetting. And they would have gotten away with it too, if it hadn't been for us medling kids...

I think it's funny that they waited until the last season that Dares is supposed to be in the game to slap on Origin traits. We all know that was planned from the start.

Origin traits are just another form of sunsetting IMO. Yeah sure they might be worth grinding for but they still make the same gear I got a year ago seem inferior.

2 Repliesyeah its bull-blam!-, my example is reed's regret with triple tap vorpal, now they added alacrity and i never got the new version with alacrity (of course i didnt deleted my old one), but it sucks, they call this content we run after a gun that we already have.

I grinded for the adept igneous hammer roll I wanted a couple seasons ago and now I have to wait for it to come back and re-grind it in the flawless pool so I can get the origin perk. Feels bad.

Every weapon thus far that has gotten added origin traits, have to be regrinded. To be honest most of the perks don’t add anything too bad. Unless you are playing crucible as like one of the best of the best players.. you aren’t really going to notice any difference between having them and not. Some of them maybe, but most not really.
