Constant Blue drops is ruining this game

Please Bungie for the longest time. Biggest talk on this forums most of the time is regarding blues, flooding postmaster. Losing resources due to cap. As suggested for years now. Auto dismantle feature. That’s all.

  • Postmaster isn't there for you to hoard materials If you lose stuff in there its 100% your fault If I were bungie I would put a 24 hour in the postmaster and all items no collected get erased

    • I believe bungie ignores the request cause postmaster isn’t meant to be storage

Wait! So you're talking about changing the game so the player doesn't need to either • Interrupt their game every two minutes to find a safe place to hide to delete worthless items to keep them from clogging up their inventory Or • Interrupt their game to make trips to the tower Or • Interrupt their game play to use a totally different device than the one they're playing on to transfer items that didn't go in their inventory because they didn't want to interrupt their game to do the first one. But a game where once you reach the point where you dismantle every single blue you get every single time you get one, you could let the game know that you dismantle every single blue, every single time you get one, and the game would do automatically do the same thing you do manually every single time you get a blue, allowing the player to play uninterrupted????? That's crazy! So crazy it might actually work! If... making the game the best player experience it could be was the main goal. Sadly, I don't think it is

        • Yeah I was about to pick up my purple egram at the end of a session only to see the message "Sent to Post Master". Then I check my inventory, surely I have room for more engrams cuz I'm positive I didnt pick up any yet and then I got annoyed to see the unwanted stuffs materializing there. Sneaky blues.

And after all these years, what have we learned? Bungie does not care.

Hmm. Well there's only a couple reasons Blues go to the Postmaster. 1) Our character slots for armor and weapons are full. So we can't pick them up If point 1 is true, then this is an "us" (player) problem. 2) The Blues we don't pick up, because we missed them, get saved and sent to the Postmaster for pickup. If point 2 is true, then this can very well be a "them" (Bungie) problem, depending on who you ask. Why does it depend? Well, Blues have been shoehorned to serve a function to reach the new "soft cap" as seasons progress and Light Level increases. Not to mention the New Light players when they pop around, are depending on those Blues to hit soft cap like we do, when seasons change. What can be done? I doubt any post asking to remove them will go anywhere. Not feasible enough, given the function. Auto-dismantling blue Engrams into materials when hitting the soft cap would be a start. Other functions could try to be engaged in the Postmaster as well, like a multi delete/selective delete option, as opposed to one item node at a time. Not sure if that can work for console folks given the number of controller keybinds. There are only so many. If we could set the Postmaster to just not accept items below Legendary level, that could also be a neat suggestion. But that would also disallow Blue Inventory items as well. I imagine the logic rules behind this are pretty strict. Might have to make seasonal currency "legendary" so it doesn't get lost in translation. It's be nice if Bungie could tell us if there are limitations in the Postmaster or not. Would clear up a few things. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

          • I would say its more an inventory systems issue that causes this, not necessarily the garbage items that tend to drop more than anything. There are quite a few ways that this can be addressed. 1. More inventory space. I dislike having to constantly be in an app or on my desktop switching gear over or just simply deleting items. 2. Postmaster should automatically pop on screen when it's either a) almost full, or b) full to the point of pushing out items from "existence". 3. loot filter options. If we dont want to pick up blues, or simply autodismantle them, we should have this option. Implentation is key here, as I see a lot of problems that could arise from this system if not debugged and tested properly with each update.

I wouldn’t say blue drops are an issue or are somehow ruining the game. It’s more like a mild inconvenience. However, I only see an option to auto-dismantle them as a benefit to the playerbase.

          • Postmaster isn’t storage. Don’t use it as such. You can complain about the material cap, but don’t complain about a system players have been abusing in a way Bungie never intended it to be used. - A player currently with 40 golf balls

                • Someone's probably gonna waltz over here and tell you that the postmaster isn't a place for storing resources soon but i too leave my resources there for years. My method is to have empty slots on said character and dismantle in activity as I go along lmao. I use an app to keep an eye on whats been transfer to the postmaster that I missed. Lots of work. Yes. I know. This is the only thing that works. Unfortunately the blues drop rate is better than it was before 💀

Wouldn't say it's ruining the game.. it's annoying and inconvenient having to delete every blue engram that drops & than making sure I pick them all up so I don't push anything out of my postmaster. At least they removed them from rewards at the end of activities

                  • 1) Stop using the Postmaster as Storage. 2) use them Mats. 3) Stop Stock pilling Mats. 4)I've had the Same 5 AS since last Season. Because I have 9 different sets of Armor I use/Builds. I don't need them. 5) if you have no other gear to Masterwork....stop farming AS. 6) Make new characters and use them on them. 7) if already did it on alts...read 5 again. Problem solved. For now.
