In previous Solstice events you could transmog both the base, non-glowing armor and the finished set. But now you have only one option, the set as it currently exists for your Guardian.
On my Titan I loved the look of the base set but I think the final version looks like some weird glowing peacock. I pursued the final version so I could unlock better stat rolls. If I had known the base version would be unavailable for transmog I would never have finished the event.
So please fix this Bungie. Allow us the option of transmogging the base set and the glowing set please like for other Solstice armor sets.

7 RepliesGets even worse. Turns out you can transmog the base set, but only if you haven't unlocked the glow yet. Yes. You're being punished for playing the game.

This year has easily the worst solstice armor. At least year 1’s glow stick look can be good with the Igbo shaders. This year just looks straight trash.
-
They also waited until the last week of the event to speed up progression on other characters. Smh.....
-
The reason I grind my armor other ways and completely avoid this sorry excuse for content
-
1 ReplyThe armor is fugly anyway. Why would anyone want to use the normal armor without glow lol
-
1 ReplyThats cool, so i can use glowing solstice armor as ornaments on my good armor?
-
which is ugly as -blam!- anyway.
-
I also noticed there is blue gear I transmogged but it’s now locked and I can’t use it. This company is just pathetic
-
Who care this years is the worst yet.
-
Luckily I personally thought this solstice armor looked like crapp glowing and not
-
I think I know why this happened the game is only looking at what the armor is currently meaning you can have either a non glowing set or a glowing set unlike say last years solstice armor which had 2 separate versions of the legendary armor ie the game knew which one was which as a result we can transmog the non glowing and the glowing separately but here since it’s 1 set that can be upgraded into the glowing the game only sees the 1 set but recognizes which is one’s are not fully and fully upgraded In Short the new method for upgrading to the white glow is the issue I appreciate the change but yeah just putting it out there

I'm not surprised

2 RepliesEdited by Smough: 8/3/2022 2:31:36 PMGlad I’m not the only one annoyed by it. I’ve always found the glow on solstice armor to be too over the top and goofy looking. Even if this year’s armor isn’t the best, I’d still like to have a non-glow version especially of the warlock helmet. Funnily enough if you didn’t upgrade the armor you’d be able to transmog the a non-glowing version.

1 ReplyEdited by Xero: 8/3/2022 11:09:05 AMFunny that this feedback comes out, but it's to be expected regardless. I wonder why Bungie didn't do both? I hope it's not some kind of restriction on the engine. I remember during the second Solstice event folks were complaining on here about how there wasn't an option to pick the previous years (the first Solstice's) ornaments in transmog with the glows. So during that time, the glows were considered a big deal. Might be why the glow has been such a focus. To me, this years seem too glowy for my taste lol. But yeah, hopefully they can take this feedback and add the base set to the transmog system. Sooner than later, we'll have to see what is announced and if there's other stuff being worked on. Just hold on to the armor after the event, just in case. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

1 ReplyIsn't it funny as well how there is no white glow on the class items this year? Unless you buy the ones from Eververse? (Unless I'm mistaken)
-
Yet another bug... It seems that you can only get the base armor unlocked if you haven't unlocked the white glow.
-
1 ReplyWait so I bought it for bright dust for no reason? 🤣 Oh well

I honestly don't understand why anyone did this event. The armor looks like trash, and we know that more changes to armor stats are coming. I believe mobility is next to be re-worked. So grinding for something that most likely is changing in the next 3 weeks just makes 0 sense to me....unless you just started playing yesterday then sure.
-
This. I don’t understand why this isn’t a thing. I read somewhere someone from Bungie said it might be difficult due to the glows or something to that affect. I just want the base gear. One can hope. J

Edited by Scratch: 8/3/2022 1:37:57 PMI like the non-glow set better. Glows look waaaay over the top to me Like, grab your attention so you buy it, over the top. To those who do like it: Which piece do you remove to use an exotic? Arms or legs make it look imbalance, in my opinion. Chest is the best-looking piece, so not that. Helmet, I guess? Maybe with assassin's cowl?

It should go back to normal after the Solstice event. Hold onto your armors, cosmetis, etc until after Solstice is done.
