Edit:
The Exotic Heartshadow was "fixed" (nerfted) with the start of Solstice
Before Solstice you could become invisible with a heavy attack and weaken the enemy (the weakening of the first attack was the bug that was fixed)
Now you have to be invisible to have the perk "shot in the dark" active, if you are invisible and the perk is active you have to hit the enemy with the heavy attack to weaken it (i.e. I mean 1 heavy attack at the beginning is no longer enough to weaken it.
One can become invisible with a smoke, the dodge, a finisher or the like, or with Heartshadow's heavy attack
If you don't play a Void Subclass, the whole thing looks a lot different
Then you have to use a heavy attack to turn invisible, then wait until your heavy attack is ready again and then directly use a heavy attack again to weaken him (so now a stupid system)
This leaves you with 2 options to do damage with it
1.
Heavy attack, then light attack until the heavy attack is ready again, then repeat (but by doing this you don't give the enemy a weaken debuff and lose 15% damage bonus)
2.
Become invisible and heavy attack (with the heavy attack by Heartshadow you have to wait and do nothing until the heavy attack is ready again) then the same as in 1. until weaken is gone, then repeat
So it doesn't matter how, you lose damage, for example because you don't have a weaken or because you wait for the heavy attack to weaken the enemy.
Heartshadow was worse than lament before, but even more so now
In addition, weakening from Heartshadow (15%) doesn't really do much if you play Void Subclass anyway, because you have the weaken nade (15% there anyway or a tether (30%)
I personally played Heartshadow with Blade Barrage this season and gave the Enemy the weak debuff and then my Super which then does 15% more
It's gotten a lot worse now and it's worth playing tractor cannon (30%, aber keine damage weapon) or lament more directly for me now
The closest thing would be if Bungie undoes the "fix" and says Heartshadow now works as it should
Thanks to everyone -blam!- this post, whether you agree with me or not

Shame. It was the young wolf's howl of d2 with invisibility as a cherry on top.
-
Yeah, I tried it out after the fix. They should have left it as the first heavy attack applies the debuff and invis. Now you have to sit there and wait burning through more ammo to get the perk to proc. I loved the idea of using it on solar subclass. It’s a little less exciting now.

Edited by Infamous067: 7/22/2022 4:45:06 PMTypical bungie nerfing weapons that aren’t even broken. I was actually grinding out the dungeon for the sword for the speed boost even when the ammo is out but now I have no reason to get it.

Rip the sword Went from good sword without being OP to useless
-
The only reason to run this exotic is to gain a debuff when not running a void subclass, just made it useless when you would use void skill debuffs and just run lament when capable of going invisible.
-
Yeah... Feels bad. I don't know why they think it's broken when yah have Lament in the game, like come on.
-
3 RepliesApparently the devs didn’t intend for the initial Heavy Attack to apply Weaken, but having to use two Heavy Attacks in a row while doing nothing of meaning in between feels pretty bad. I would suggest that a decent middle ground between pre-fix and post-fix would be to change the weapon so that any sword attack (Heavy or Light) while Shot in the Dark is active will apply Weaken. With this functionality the user would be able to quickly Weaken a single target by using the Heavy attack to active Shot in the Dark and follow up with a Light attack, or wait for the sword power gauge to refill to launch another Heavy attack if they want to attempt to Weaken multiple targets. “Fix” sanguine alchemy

1 ReplyI don’t know what they did to it, but it actually feels worse now.
-
8 RepliesI didn't know anyone even used it. I don't ever see it. I used it once to try it out, instantly went into the Vault. Just my luck... the one exotic I get on the 1st run and its not even worth using.
-
5 RepliesHonestly it does need a buff Yes it weakens and suppresses enemies like the vow exotic (I think the vow exotic does that idk ain’t got it) And as cool as the sword is it needs a buff Catalyst is cool. Moving faster and more ammo. One shots people in pvp but the orbs need more range I think.
-
Yep. Wonderful company with excellent QA testing team in place.
-blam!- that. Shitty scummy -blam!- faces putting real money paid content then shelving an at best decent sword in the toilet
-
1 ReplyIt sucks how often they add these exotics that are just gimmicky garbage that nobody uses. It's even worse when it's the exotic from the brand new dungeon that costs extra money.
-
Sounds like a lot of weapons tbh.

Guardian, Archon Of LightArchon Priest Of House Light - old
I didn't like it before the nerf, I got the catalyst done and put it in the vault Weapon designers need to think "Will this help a player kill something" before they start -
18 RepliesA buffed drop rate should be the first thing
See Edit 2 to understand why, with the "fix" Heartshadow is now completely useless
Nerfing it was just plain stupid.
-
5 RepliesCompletely useless?! Try again. I haven’t taken this off since I got it. Shot in the dark works perfectly fine when going invisible on Hunter. Or just proc it by casting your first heavy attack. This sword is an absolute u it in Gambit. Going invis and the added speed is perfect for hunting down the enemy invaders and taking them out quickly. Proc shot in the dark and it one shots all yellow bars, large blockers and high value targets. One of my gambit matches, i did the most damage to our primeval with 60k damage and we won. Proc shot in the dark, heavy attack, proc again by going invis, heavy attack again when charged, rinse and repeat. If you build into the sword, it’s a powerhouse. Pair it with font of might and the class item mod that makes you radiant when picking up orbs of power. This sword is very far from being useless.

1 ReplyWhy not remain on the first thread instead of making a new one pointing us toward it?

I noticed that too, threw me off a little. Hope it’s reverted

This exotic as much as I adore it already felt like it needed a buff and the first thing they did to it was nerf it?? I haven’t used it yet as I’ve only been on once this week since Solstice started, but why did they feel this was necessary? I already have all lfg teams tell me to switch over to Lament or Guillotine instead for every dungeon and raid.
