So to kick off the inevitable freight train of problems, let's talk about the good of solar 3.0. hunters have gotten numerous tools and much needed buffs after a long while, titans now have more aspects to play with and have fun, and burning maul is accessible to all titans. And ignition and aspect good for all other classes plus healing grenade. That's were the good news of the short summary ends.
An Identity Destroyed and how to fix it;
When you use solar 3.0 you'll realize a few things about warlock. First of all, benevolent dawn is a mentally insane vegetable of what it used to be. Heat rises and Icarus dash are separate (LMAOOOOO why!? I swear Bungie 🔫). Phoenix dive is unusable with it's long a** cool down of 1 min 22 secs for a one time burst of healing. And half the fragments for solar 3.0 are centered around solar ignitions which are harder to proc then Hawkmoon luck in the chamber when not fully hard specced in. Incendiary snap spread is so big it can't even hit most of it projectile except at point blank range, meaning 70% of the time in pvp no ignition for you and a pain in the butt in higher level pve to actually land them and not die. Without increase scorch stack fragment it requires all five incendiary snaps projectiles to trigger ignition, with fragment it's 4. Meaning 20 normally, 30 with fragment. First of all it should have it spread reduced by 30 degrees at least and scorch stacks increased to 27 for norm. Touch of flame aspect should be given another fragment slot and add scorch stacks too all abilities. Daybreaks cool down should be reduced by a minute, and Phoenix dive should have half the cool down or a 20 sec cool down. Ticuus divination should do scorch damage. My summary of happenings and fixes for this already shown to be bad rework of a good subclass. Also if you don't change touch of flame like what I listed, make a fragment where upon death of scorched enemy an ignition explosion is triggered. Thanks for reading and have a good day.
Massive edit if you need more convincing (not required):
Now there is a problem with making Phoenix dive have a low cool down as a class ability, it will exploit outreach and bomber a LOT. This is not mentioning heat rises scorch spam that could result. So I say instead of meshing Icarus dash and heat rises, make Phoenix dive an aspect like Icarus but with same cool down as Icarus dash. So you have a new aspect which in my opinion should have 2-3 fragment slots. The reason why I would'nt mesh Icarus and heat rises if Phoenix dive is an aspect is because you'll have to have two separate inputs for dive and dash. Which over all is bad as if they don't get separate inputs they fall on the same input 💀. So making it an aspect is the best choice. Also everybody's probably gonna say what about Starfire protocol and infinite fusions, and sunbracers, well shut up idiot because you aren't thinking about it all the way. First of all we had a lot more build options before 3.0, second of all those already existed and are just there, third of all 2 builds shouldn't have to carry the entire subclasses reputation as useful or NOT. Fourth of all, Bungie claimed to like more build diversity while they have halved the amount of builds possible with solar warlock. Fifth, this is nothing like hunters and void, they had routes of invis and devour for pve, invis and expulsion fragment for pve again, their invis is so top tier they can cruise through any activity without sweating half as much as any other class. Meanwhile solar can't even make through any high level pve content without 2 specific builds with their seasonal mods, and without being speccesd into ignition which is totally useless in any pvp or high pve activity as the time to make something ignite is most likely going to kill you before triggering. Not to mention the main roaming super of the class is dogwater now as it has the highest cool down for one of the shortest supers. Sixth of all, in pvp it is impossible to cause ignition without point blank hitting all your incendiary snaps, therefore igniting but self damaging yourself in the process, not to mention this requires 2 fragments at least for this one scenario to profit you with more then one kill. Not to mention that you have to get POINT BLANK, like I will die to a shotty before I proc the mechanic that half of my subclasses fragments are based on. Sunbracers usually can't do squat in pvp without heat rises and celestial fire. Only reliable way to trigger ignition in pvp is to use ahamkara grapes with added scorch stack fragment and scorch on ignition fragment. Or run added scorch stacks and run a f***ing thermite grenade with it's long cooldown, essentially the cool down nullifying the use of heat rises and it is unaffected by touch of flame aspect. Seventh, benevolent dawn main purpose of syncing with well of radiance is blown out of the water now as well does not apply radiant anymore and does not even grant enough energy to be worth the slot and -10 discipline. Not to mention you fueled hunters with everything every other class had, essentially making the living embodiment of power creep as hunters now have bottom tree dawnblade with their crazy ignitions, all the healing in the world making warlock healing in the solar area irrelevant at this point, and giving the 5 fragment slots and a ton of aspects. Like warlock identity doesn't exist anymore along with a bit of solar titans, it's all been funneled into solar hunter. For why this happened I guess they had to "balance" the fact that void was to "bad" for the hunters. So instead of balancing it you did the worst thing you could, you gave the needed power buffs of void, TO SOLAR, WOW IF THATS NOT POWER CREEP I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IS. Eighth, the spread of snap melee is so big it makes it tedious and unfun to hit all projectiles to try to get ignition and/or sunbracers to proc, along with celestial fire NOT SCORCHING, LMAOOOO WHY. ninth, touch of flame is Walmart chaos accelerant at this point, h*"l it doesn't even work for half of solar 3.0 nades, once again narrowing done any build diversity even more then void hunters. Tenth, again I will repeat, the most reliable way to proc ignition is to have a kickstart mod for melee, 80 melee stat and ahamkara grasps to reliably cause ignitions, ON TOP OF REQUIRING 3 FRAGMENTS TO MAKE IT ANY WAY USEFUL. This can only happen possible every 1 and a half minutes. That's if your lucky and can find 4+ people sitting next to each other not in a well and not instantly beaming you half way through the first snap melee. Eleventh, I can't even at this point right now, I've explained enough for now besides the fact that void hunter, no matter what people say, has way more build options for the one mechanic then solar warlock has jump deaths. They have Gemini jester, graviton forfeit, Orpheus rig, dragon shadow to make it fun. Meanwhile we only have sunrbacers and Phoenix protocol along with a whole bunch more mediocre solar and neutral exotics to stack with it which do barely anything inside pve, and literally nothing in pvp. So thanks Bungie for hyping us up for a surprise which was you actually hiding your integrity to rework a previous game mechanic correctly without cutting corners due to a lack of play testing and general heinsight. Good day Bungie and I pray to God you actually start thinking ahead instead of thinking how to destroy your game.
Thank you to the people in comments for being good sports, you guys give me hope for these forums 😌

I agree with everything except hunter void is good idk who complained

8 RepliesI love it except for Dawn blade. It needs to be tweaked with a shorter cool down or lengthened by kills and have the tracking improved. Other than that the builds are OP and fun. I love killing things while in air.

1 ReplyProbably the only massive, and I mean massive problem with solar warlock is the daybreak super. If you want dps you run starfire fusion spam with wither or anarchy, if you want add clear support in GMs you run phoenix protocol with the super final blows ignite adds, and I'm sure if you want to run full heal you can put the fragments in and use boots of the assembler and lumina. Bungie messed up big time thinking every single solar warlock player used top tree, I never have, and never would have because I don't like pvp. I'm sure there could be improvements to benevolence and maybe find a way to put phoenix dive in an aspect, but I have no practical use for floating and diving in GMs anyway unless I want to be instantly shot dead.

10 RepliesHonestly I like solar 3.0 on my warlock, there lost of melee and grenade builds I can run with exotics spread scorch and cause ignition. Dawn chorus is also low key meta and despite what many think, does still buff the super by like 50%. Claws of the ahemkara is strong, heart of praxic us strong. Dawn chorus is strong. The only thing I don't like is the lack of synergy with healing exotics and warlock solar 3.0. (Without leaning 100% into healing builds and giving up damage/add clear)

If they do arc 3.0 like this, there not just gonna only see me leaving the game, but a good 1/3 of there player base.

The loss of Benevolent Dawn is the hill I’ll die on. I’m a pve WellLock and spec’ing into support meant constant healing grenades/rifts. My current build relies on applying radiant to allies so my healing nade and rift come back faster bc eMbEr Of BeNeVoLeNcE is a crippled version of BD. Slightly increase the recharge rate during benevolence, and make it so when an ally is in my rift, benevolence doesn’t go away after 6 seconds while my ally is still in the rift. Reset it each second while he/she is in like how BD worked.

5 RepliesIve been playing destiny less and less lately, it could be because warlocks are getting shafted every single season or maybe I’m just tired of playing a hunter simulator. I get majority of players are hunters but does it hurt to give the less popular classes something cool or abilities that actually work? Why cant titans change directions on a controller after doing the new solar slam ability? Why did titans only get one new ability when hunters got brand new dodge, melee and aspects? Why do warlocks have the weakest super out of the solar 3.0? Warlocks were also the weakest in void 3.0, whats the deal with that? Are we just going to make warlocks the weakest class in the game? Blade barrage is out damaging chaos reach with geomags without the need of an exotic. Its come to the point where its clear hunters are always going to be the best PVP class in the game and god forbid titans or warlocks get any love or they risk getting nerfed. Hunters are literally going around with caliban’s hand pulling some insane BS or running around with an infinite 10% radiant damage buff because of their dodge. Bungie destroyed the warlock healing identity by giving healing grenades to all classes and the worse part is, dawnblade got a recent nerf but not a single nerf to the BS that hunters are currently running with. I cant get myself to play the game anymore.

5 RepliesPhoenix dive is quite usable, you never have to wait the full cool-down, the healing is instant and can be used in the middle of combat, and it can apply scorch, ignite. Makes rifts look pathetic.

1 ReplyEdited by GiftPhoenix: 7/19/2022 11:00:25 AMOnly change it needs is put the dash in heat rises, and give them a solar buddy aspect. As a void titan I feel you I really do. If you're running controlled demo then offensive bullwark does nothing because you can't get overshields reliable and bastion doesn't give you the fragment slots you need to make demo work. Bastion should've just been made into it's own barricade and we should've got the but from code of the aggressor we're ability kills just give ability energy to the ability that got the kill

so... long story short, warlocks are still the red-headed step child. what's new? Hunter's are once again the favored child. this is all old news true, but old news and to expect any different now is literally warlock mains kidding themselves. and i'm a warlock main... just saying

2 RepliesI agree with everything but hawkmoon. Seriously you are gonna kill your whole argument with that. Each crit makes the next easier to land. I get the 1 shot bullet at least two times a match.

7 RepliesEdited by danteskids: 7/19/2022 7:33:28 AMI'm fine with all that you said for warlocks, but for Titans on the new things we have, we only have one stupid little slide melee that needs us to put on a whole aspect AND waste a charge just for something genuinely NEW. If I've heard right, the only NEW thing your class got is that finger snap, while Hunters get a whole new dodge, an aspect that buff super damage AND an aspect that lets them build up a free grenade, it doesn't matter if it's good or not, it's fact that you don't waste YOUR ORIGINAL CHARGE when you flub a gunpowder gamble. I'm not saying nerf Hunters, I want Warlocks & Titans to be able to dive into the subclass more, for Warlocks, pheonix dive should give you & nearby allies restoration if they don't adjust the cool down, for Titans, either merge khepri's horn into consecration, or make it into the solar version of the class ability, but the sad fact is that we DON'T have a new & useful class ability to go with the subclass, we don't get that extra ease that Hunters do, I'm repeating one more time, DON'T NERF HUNTERS, I want the rest brought up to match. And as a Titan main, I say nerf loreley.
