Bungie, the FOMO king, wants you to take steps towards improving your mental health.
“We’re going to implement systems that artificially extend your playtime by months and years so we have a better chance at selling you half baked products” Bungie wants you to know they care about you and your mental well being
“We’re going to string along vast swathes of players for years and berate them for expressing their distrust and disgust to our faces whenever they get the chance” Bungie loves you and sees you

8 RepliesMost people are addicted to destiny, not because of the game play because we know it’s terrible. The psychological systems they have in place is what keeps us coming back. There’s reports they consulted psychologist that study lab rat behavior. It’s deep, if you can find it I’d encourage you to read

5 RepliesI've not played for a few days and it's amazing how quickly I stopped caring.
-
6 RepliesYea you are just bad my guy 😂 You have months and a year to do/get everything Stop using FOMO as a scapegoat at your own lack of skills or understanding Stop making useless post and and start getting good

2 RepliesI can smell the Bungie defense force’s b.o coming from the horizon. Oh no! They’re here!

30 RepliesI was expecting to come in here and rebut something, but yeah… Between the FOMO, long grinds, and poor RNG, it does seem a bit ironic that the architect taking advantage of some of our worst impulses, and infuriating us expresses concern over our mental health. That’s like a Casino putting up signs stating they care about your financial well being, and want you to seek out professional advice managing your money. Feels a little disingenuous unless we’re about to see substantive changes to multiple systems within the game to make the game less grindy, more rewarding with bad luck protection throughout the game, all Eververse items easily earnable any time with an abundant in game currency, season passes that can be completed at any time, unvault all content in some way for free, customizable matchmaking settings for everything in the game, from toggling SBMM to freelance, to allowing lobby hosting and searching for all activities, even patrol zones. Hmm, yeah I don’t see it happening. So you kind of have a point there.

Is that why they advertise your season rank above your head, to encourage infinite bounty grinding and promote addiction People over 200 3 days after the Season launched , that's just unhealthy ,Take a break, get plenty of rest , eat 3 meals a day, pay some attention to your loved ones, the payoff to this game doesn't justify spending your entire life on it -
1 ReplyNah not with all the mental systems that they root the game on. Remember they consulted with specialist on lab rats and tests on brains

And even if Bungie "cares", they could do far more to reduce possible healt issues in relation with Destiny 2.

Literally. Their advocacy work is pure virtue signalling.

1 ReplyEdited by Scratch: 7/8/2022 8:56:19 PMBungie: We care about your mental health Also Bungie: Keep doing lost sector after lost sector because there's a chance you'll get something that'll let you run the exotic you want AND have the stats you want. It's said that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over but expecting different results. Logically I know I have about a 1 in 5 chance of getting an exotic each time There's about 9 different exotics for each slot. There's a slim chance of getting a high stat roll. Because ghost mods don't affect lost sector exotic drops, there's even a slimmer chance I get the stats distribution I want. Logically I know that the odds of getting: •An exotic •The one actually I want •With high stats •Distributed in a way that is useful to the exotic perk. •Lines up with the armor I hoard in the vault to add up to the total stats I need Are so astronomically low I'd have a better shot at winning the lottery. .... Yet here I am, 5 a.m., doing the same lost sector I've done for the 50th time, to the point I'm no longer having fun playing the game, all to move 20 points from strength to discipline Expecting different results.

4 RepliesBungie's view on how to keep us playing; If you want to keep an idiot busy for hours and hours, see below...
If you want to keep an idiot busy for hours and hours, see above...
Pretty spot on, don't-cha think?

Once you get past the FOMO feeling the game is actually somewhat fun.

82 RepliesIf a video game is affecting your mental health then im pretty sure thats not the creators problem. Maybe you should take a step back to look at yourself if thats the case lol. This is one of the stupidest arguments I have ever seen against this game

1 ReplyRemember, this comes on the heels of a bunch of posters prostrating themselves before Bungie for putting in the "heartwrenching" Zavala Sever missions. It's just more signaling; pretending to care because a bunch of people who think a poorly written game is deep are tripping over themselves to pat Bungie on the back.
-
You've some internal issues related to this game you need to work out. This feels like a cry for help. Just uninstall this game bro, for real. Just get rid of it and do something else in the time you'd normally play. The FOMO you're talking about has been there since day 1. You need a perspective shift that can only come from not playing at this point.

At least Bungie ain’t like EA. EA gives up on many games that looks good. Like BF2042 and Anthem. It’s a slap in the face after Fans pay hundreds of $ for their games. And Bungie is here trying their best to not make us waste our money.

Mental health help when i not play this game and went to other games back and forth its a cancer of a game all i can say wish it was not but it is

1 ReplyDon't forget the hypocritical toxic workplace culture that was exposed after Bungie tried to call out Activision.
-
5 RepliesIt’s just virtue signalling. Mental health is important. The fact that Bungie a multi-million dollar company asks their player base for money for charities and special aid projects and doesn’t match or exceed the the money raised seems offside to me. Seems like the least they should do.

4 RepliesEdited by PalpatineRex: 7/9/2022 8:45:41 AMThats probably why they restricted my 6k hours played account for a i quote "bad connection". Makes sense now.

I greatly improved my mental health by not playing Destiny anymore. I don't play games to be pissed off by being forced to play Bungie's way, or to be lectured to by SJWs. Fallout 76 > Destiny 2.

Bungie should send their management team for mental health evals imo.

And god forbid you try to grind another exotic from a lost sector. Say goodbye to your sanity.

I'll tell ya, having to constantly dismantle blues is destroying my mental health.

Destiny 2’s ugly armor sets are bad for my mental health.
