Maybe after years of players complaining about wanting skill based matchmaking then as soon as Bungie brings it in everyone starts kicking off wanting connection based matchmaking instead.
Years of switching between the two has got to start to annoy Bungie staff.

To Bungle, SBMM and CBMM is just a shell game that they use to confuse people. Without Regional Dedicated Host Servers, the game will always be a messy joke of Lag an "WTF was that moments".
-
Thing is I have played plenty of games with these "dedicated regional servers" and still see people lagging. People assume servers are a magical fix for everything but they're not. They help but can only compensate for so much and after a point they can not hide the lag someone has. More players paying attention to their Internet and willing to fix problems without a argument or blaming others like Bungie are the true fix.
-
I'm well aware that Regional Dedicated Servers are not a magic bullet. Halo Infinite has them, but it is unplayable garbage because the Server Selector continually matches me in Alberta Canada to a Server in Europe (Amsterdam I'm told), which gives me ping times of 250+ ms. However in Halo 5 and MCC, where I can pick my Server, the nearest server to me is in Seattle, and when I pick that I get < 30 ms ping times. Game play is amazing at < 30 ms - but complete garbage at 250 ms ping (4 fps update). The other issue that Servers solve is lowering the internet throughput and processing demands for the end users. Dedicated Servers will require one up and one down channel between the user and the server. Destiny with Peer to Peer in a 6v6 PvP game will have 11 up and 12 down connections plus 1+ connection sending status info to the Destiny Tally Server. This is why Games like Battlefield can have Server Hosted 64 player games with "last gen" consoles, while Destiny in Peer to Peer struggles with 12 player games.

A minority complained, but the streamers hated it because it was ruining their business. The streamers are an invaluable asset to bungie so goodbye skill based. And yes, i know tons of people in here complained constantly but honestly the forum users make up a tiny % of destiny players. It was and is, for bungie, good business keeping the slime-ball streamers happy.
…keeping the slime-ball streamers happy.
And you wonder why bungie doesn’t listen to this god-forsaken place.
-
So you think streamers are upstanding, honest gamers?
-
No I didn’t say that now did I. They are human like anyone else and are just playing a game they care about. Someone like Datto doesn’t complain about the game as much as anyone else because he is an adult that doesn’t want to partake in being a Reddit keyboard warrior that sulks in their own misery. You guys took his apathy and construed it into him being some kind of bungie bootlicker.
-
They dont care about the game! They only care about making money doing something other than actual work. Its 530am and i got the flu, have a good day.
-
Lmao you really are a keyboard warrior if you have notifications on for this god-forsaken place.

Im an ipad user currently reading the third hunger games novel. 🙂

Thnx, nice talking with you.

You know i never thought about it, I didn’t even know you had a choice. Thanks.

Its exactly this

are bungie devs not smart enough to see a bad idea ? sbmm is a crap fest, did no one at bungie think that would be a really bad idea as far as the majority of the casual pvp goes ? they just made the change cuz half a dozen ppl on reddit and twitter asked for it, while their entire forum have been screaming since day one
-
The blame is on the community who insist on these changes time and time again then kick off that Bungie doesn't listen to feedback.
The blame is on the community who insist on these changes time and time again then kick off that Bungie doesn't listen to feedback.
And? You are talking like Bungie does every changes that people requests... Character customisation is requested for years for a game that it's dev described it as RPG type game. It's not believable when you say people at Bungie's whose job to do to this cannot differentiate between good and a bad idea. Whatever good is done, always done by Bungie And all bad changes are requested changes by the players? This sounds like a kid blaming the teacher when he gets a bad grade, but owns all the success when he gets a good one 😂
