Armor is in desperate need of an overhaul in regards to stats. For me it is the biggest PITA in the entire game. RNG for stat values, combining those stats across 4 slots AND incorporating exotics it is painful to deal with. You have to hang on to so many armor pieces and use a 3rd party tool to even have a chance of coming up with an armor set that gets you close to the stat distribution you need for a build. Almost half of the 550 items in my vault are armor because of this.
Bungie, PLEASE come up with a better system for the armor stats so that is is easier to work with AND reduces the need to hoard armor. I should be keeping armor around because of intrinsic perks or they have special mod slots (raid, artifice) not because it MIGHT be the missing piece for a stat combination.
Heck, separate stats from armor altogether and have them be an intrinsic part of our characters. Let us invest in "stat points" that we can assign/re-assign as we want. Let armor be special because of intrinsic perks like IB and seasonal armor or because they have special mod slots like raid and artifice armor.

Huh Other than stats for exotics Didn’t think it was a problem. I just kept armor with focus on two or three of the stats I wanted and got triple 100s on two characters.

1 ReplyI’d be happy if bungie just changed the system so that each stat point counts towards reducing cooldowns, instead of it only working in increments of 10.
-
I think they should prioritize the mod economy before even touching stats. Mod cost and energy limits are starting to become a problem.

Hey solstice is around the corner apparently we will be able to reroll armour can't wait

When you masterwork armor you should be able to move the 12 bonus points wherever you want. Even if you can only move half the points it would be worth it.
-
Yea we need to move armor stats to class tree which is more useful since bungie won’t give in game loadouts and instead give set bonuses to armor based on number of equipped items ie 2 set 4 set and 5 set bonuses. This would also give a purpose to the otherwise useless class item that I absolutely dread getting and wish they would delete from loot table entirely since it can’t possibly be better than the one I have which means only possible merit it has is when power jumps each season and that’s no reason to keep a useless slot that might as well be equivalent to the ghost or sparrow. Sadly this would require sunsetting as otherwise anyone with current armor would be able to pretty much get 100 in all stats by using old armor and skill tree rework in theory.

My pvp load out is grenades and mobility and mida.. am like friggin lightning in crucible 🤣 I’d rather have more guns with special perks like agility x2… pve armour is anything that looks good basically 😬

8 RepliesNot a ingame solution but d2armorpicker.com is amazing for putting builds together

Unnecessarily complicated for starters what’s the point in having an ammo finder/scavenger for each weapons class? While your at it put orbs of power back on master worked weapons.

Armor 3.0 use enclave to relocate stats. Rng would be useless then so probably Won't happen.

So in response to this, having a way to focus high stat armor through various vendors/activities can help all players make the build they would like, with subclasses offering different ways to play and additions stat modifiers that leaves making atleast 4 sets to pair off with various exotics, for the most dedicated players this may not be an issue and some players don't worry too much about mid maxing In terms of "set bonuses" i'm not against it i personally don't wish to have that many sets i'd rather have sets for each subclass, however if it was done akin to iron banner then thats fine, one addition i would like to see is the return of gambit roles which could be done through class item alone

2 RepliesTook me one week to redo my armor to get 100 in resilience, recovery, and discipline on my warlock, and I just started redoing my Titan armor 2 days ago and have 100 resilience and 100 discipline. It’s not as hard as people make it to be.
